This place is unique because they can use cremated remains of a loved one in the ink as part of the tattoo. I mixed a bit of my late cat and dog's ashes together to form the set of Roman numerals to represent 2012. MMXII will always mean something to me only because both pets passed away that year 2 weeks apart. Tim did my tattoo and made me feel relaxed even though I was silently freaking out because I haven't had a tattoo done in years! I managed to sit through the half hour it took, but I felt faint upon standing up. He was helpful to follow me outside and handed me a bottle of water and waited a little while until I said I was OK to go. Tattoos represent something important to me and I am glad I made the decision to come here and get one done.

This place should be shut down…read more I had to temporarily replace my tragus earring with an acrylic spacer for an MRI test (got this done at Adrenaline Tattoo's on Queen Street - amazing place). Decided to get my original earring put back in at 'Depression Ink' since it was a lot closer to home, and since it was a low risk procedure didn't think it would make a huge difference where I went (simply putting in an earring - note: I could not do it on my own since it is small and I cannot see the inside of my ear to screw it in.) I called beforehand and the owner said that it would be no problem. I went in, showed him the original earring, and his apprentice proceeded to take out the spacer (I was fine with this - again, low-risk procedure). Then when it was time to put the earring in the owner said he could not, it was too small - even though it was the earring I have had in my tragus for over ten years. Even though he told me on the phone no problem. Even though he saw the earring when I came into the shop - before starting anything - and said again, no problem. Irritated at this point, I said to put the spacer back in and I would go elsewhere. He said he could not (???). He would need to put a brand new earring in (one with a longer bar so that he could grasp it with his hands and screw it in)...andddd I would have to buy it from him (scammer). I agreed so that I could just get this over with and get out of there, lay down for him to put in the new earring, and suddenly felt horrible pain. I screamed out and asked what he was doing?! HE WAS STICKING A NEEDLE THROUGH MY EAR. Without ANY CONSENT on my part, he attempted to RE-PIERCE my tragus (the hole was already there and perfectly fine - I had it pierced 15 years ago!) to put the earring in (wtf).. He did this 1) Without asking or telling me first and without any consent on my part, 2) Without any proper sterilization techniques 3) Without showing me where that needle came from (I have no clue if it came from a sealed package or not). Disgusting. Why in hell would you re-pierce a hole that already exists and that was perfectly healed???! At the end of it all he was able to put the new earring in by hand and just screwed it closed - like he should have done in the first place. And three days later I am left with a horrible infection in my ear that has required medical attention, and a lost piercing hole that was healthily healed for over 15 years. This man should not own a business not should his establishment be shut down. DO NOT COME HERE. Save yourself from a completely unprepared, unknowledgeable shop owner who has no concern for health and safety - something CRUCIAL in the tattoo and piercing business. I went to simply change an earring. I left with a serious infection. Unbelievable.

First, I went in on May 2015 to book my appointments, I have a big back piece that required two dates to complete, according to the artist. So those dates were in October and November. When we booked them, I didn't realize our first appointment fell on Thanksgiving day, so not only did I go out of my way to contact the artist myself to confirm our appointment, which it should have been his job to do, once he said its fine, it shouldn't affect our time slot, I took the day off work in order to get this appointment, yes I worked on Thanksgiving. The day of my appointment, he calls me an hour before my time slot and cancels. Ah well, shit happens. So we booked for a week later, I figured I waited 6 months, whats 1 more week. Anyway my first session came and gone with no issues, my second appointment on November 24 was supposed to be when my tattoo was to be finished. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to complete it, but assured me he'll squeeze me in before December ends since there's only about an hour to an hour and half left of work (according to him) to complete it, so it shouldn't be a problem. I asked if I have to leave another deposit for the final sitting, he told me he wasn't taking anymore bookings until June, so I can't book him, but assured me not to worry. He advised me to contact him via Instagram, so I did about 2 weeks after our last sitting, he never got back to me. After a week of waiting, I decided to call the shop, requested to speak to him, when the person on the phone asked for my name to pass on to Jon, I can hear him say in the background that he remembers me will get back to me, so I was fine with that. It provided me some re-assurance and I'm a fairly patient person. So December comes and goes and I didn't make anything of him not getting back to me because it was the holidays after all. I email him directly in mid January, again, no reply. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and decided to wait, since he does have a lot of bookings and is in high demand. So after 6 more weeks, nothing, so I went to the shop 2 weeks ago (this is now last week of March) to finally just talk to him face to face. I tried to give him the story of our scenario, but he was getting ready with another client at that time and seemed more interested in just getting rid of me rather than hearing me out. He told me, "what do you want me to do, I'm booked until June", my immediate reaction was you're the one who assured me I won't have to worry bout booking you and you would have it done by DECEMBER, its now almost APRIL. So he told me just to write my name and number on his card and he'll get back to me, I did, but I knew full well that wasn't going to happen and it was more just to get me to leave...considering all this bullshit that occurred, I doubt that happens and am now looking for another artist to finish his incomplete work. I tried to be patient and reasonable and feel completely mistreated and just passed on. I shouldn't have to wait until June to book him again after he's the one who decided 2 appointments is all he needed. I hope no one else goes through this with Jon. Nothing worse than being left in the dark, personally I feel if you make a promise, you should own up to it and always follow up with your clientele. Its very unprofessional, I should not have to chase you down, being I'm the client. I think his popularity probably has gone to his head.
