Cooking for 40-50 people is no easy task and getting it out together is hard. The pork was overdone and we would have preferred something other than French fries the cheese cake for desert was dry as well. The wine that was served was local, and we enjoyed a riesling. It was quite good. They had live music and encouraged audience participation and a great amount of fun was to be found if one wanted to join in. It might have been annoying to the other guests, but we had fun. I would like to have the opportunity to try other dishes, as looking at the other diners meals, they looked good. I don't think we will ever find the opportunity to return, and don't base your dining choice on this review. I think that they are a fine restaurant and handled a large crowd very well, along with the other diners that were there.

When in Rüdesheim, you have to try their coffee. I mean, how often is it you get a coffee that's…read morefilled with alcohol, lit on fire, topped with whipped cream and handed to you to drink? I was in town for a few hours while heading up the Rhine, and we walked around until we found this place. It was later in the evening and there weren't a lot of people around, so we grabbed one of the outdoor tables and waited for our server. And waited... and waited. Finally he popped out like he was walking to the other side and, realizing we were there, swung around to come help us. I ordered the coffee and my friends ordered beer and wine. Service was a little slow and he also made a comment about making "tons" of Rüdesheim coffee's a day, and that he was happy that mine would be the last one of the evening.

This place is excellent. In any wine region it's very easy to get lost in and overwhelmed by the…read moremassive number of producers. Which ones to visit? Which bottles to buy? And all these decisions in very limited timeframes whilst on busy vacations. RheinWeinWelt addresses these problems with a GREAT wine tasting concept. It has about 8-10 rooms featuring more than 100(!) winemakers of the nearby Rhinegau region, all with excellent signage explaining the winemakers, terroir, and individual wines. €1 gets you a tokens to taste a wine - simply circulate through these rooms and try any wine that piques your interest. We got a €20 pack of tokens and we walked out very happy (and well-informed!). Our favorites were Pinot noirs from the Assmanshausen region. We also appreciated the excellent hospitality here! There is an on-site shop to buy other goodies, snacks, souvenirs, and bottles - as well as a small cafe serving food and drink. This place is 100% on my list for when we return to Rudesheim!
