After posting, one friend informed me that she had made an appointment for the Thursday after New Year's, and i had two others ask me questions. not only do i have a great place to go for dentistry, but wow, i found ministers of Christ to our community, and that's exactly what Christ wants us to do! My FB post: I found my new dentist today! Hounshell Dentistry in Shelby is amazing! I went in for a crown after snapping my molar at dinner last night and I was in awe. I saw Dr. Paul this morning and did a "meet & greet" of sorts. When I went back this afternoon, he told me he had prayed for me during his lunchtime. :) (where do you ever find that?) We talked about his dental ministry, his family, my family, and random odds and ends. His staff is like no other and absolutely precious! What a super team. I would highly recommend this office! I was so at ease. I can't wait to take Autumn in for her next cleaning. (My daughter.)

Let me State up front that the quality of care was very good. My low rating comes from lying to me…read morethat they were in my dental network and in reality, they are not in my network. I specifically asked the front desk as I arrived from my appointment if everything was okay and they were in network. The nice lady looked at my information and said yes, they were in network and everything's fine. Again, the quality of care was outstanding. My negativity comes towards being untruthful. It's going to wind up costing me more than they got paid from my insurance. Triple check your dental insurance before you go into that place. It will cost you an arm and a leg. Never again for me.

I do not have insurance so this was absolutely out of my price range. So I did not proceed with the recommended care plan. When I did need dental care, I called to make an appointment only to be told they could not see me. I asked why, the reason I was given was because I didn't follow the plan from the first visit so I was not a good fit for their office!!

I had this misfortune to see Dr .Wilson on 2/25/21 and am no longer going to be seeing anyone in this practice. Dr. Wilson has is narcissistic, rude and unprofessional. After waiting over a half hour in the chair to have a tooth repaired, when he came into the room, I jokingly stated that he was late and he went a little crazy. He then called me an "asshole" and the office staff came to see what was going on, they started laughing. When I informed Dr. Wilson that he could not speak to me that way, he stated that he could speak to me any way that he wanted and then refused to apologize. I have filed a complaint with the dental association as any doctor should not call any patient, regardless of circumstances, an "asshole" or berate their patients in any form or manner. This type of behavior is unprofessional.
