They showed up and replaced the 2 garage doors by Mid-Day Monday, while the other 3 companies wouldn't even come over to look at our problem until Tuesday. Everyone at Precision was extremely friendly and professional. The only negative i never received any paperwork listing warranty or total cost. In total I'd recommend them to friends or family. My wife and I are both seniors, I'm hoping we weren't taken advantage of my initial reaction is the company is honest.

If you call Precision Garage Door Service of Dayton/Franklin, you will be doing business, not with…read morea local repair shop, but rather with a nationwide marketing company. A marketing company that farms out service calls to franchises employing an assortment of technicians of varied integrity. I have had two very different experiences with this company. The first one two years ago was positive. My garage door spring was broken. The tech (Brent) was very good. He explained what needed to be done and quoted a cost for labor and parts which I thought was a fair price. He did a good job. The second time was earlier this week. My garage door opener failed, and I needed to repair or replace the opener motor. The Precision tech proceeded to upsell me as hard as he could, finally quoting his lowest price of $1,100 (plus tax) and an installation time of two hours for two technicians to install his least expensive one car garage door opener. I then contacted a truly local one-man repair shop. He told me it would take him one hour to install the opener and quoted me a flat rate of $535 including tax with an appointment to install the new unit that very evening. Even after paying $112 for Precision's "service call" I saved over $400 by refusing to do business with Precision. I recommend you do the same. PS - The only reason I gave them two stars instead of one was the work Brent did two years ago.

Google won't guarantee anything with pricing though. I tried and was told "We're denying your request, as the program does not cover cases where there is "dissatisfaction with price". The repairman gave me a quote of around $600, which included $375 for labor and then the cost of parts. I needed it fixed that day so I told him to go ahead. When he was finished I got an invoice for $1159. He charged me $439 for a part from Menards that was $16! Cables were $300! The cost of those two parts was more than the whole quote. Was told they don't take cards. I had to go to the bank and was followed there by the repairman. He wanted the check wrote out to him (Ilay Khalfi) instead of the company(Garage Door Service), and then cashed it instantly. I tried calling the company to ask about the invoice and was told a manager would call back, but instead received a call from the repairman saying the parts weren't from Menards and they actually cost that much. I told him he left the stickers on them and he got rude and started telling me I was a liar and to just accept it or have a manager call me back. Never got that call back so I called again and a manager told me I would have to have the billing department call me back. Guess what? Never received that call either. I filed a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General like another review said to do.

You might think that seems like a fishy tactic to lure in customers for shoddy work. Definitely not the case here! Scheduling the appointment was a breeze and the technician let me know when he was on the way. My issue was a dead circuit board in my 20 year old garage door opener. The tech went over the replacement options along with clear and upfront pricing. Once I decided, he was able to do the install right away! While he was there he went ahead and gave my other garage a tune-up as well. Both doors are quieter and smoother than they have ever been. It's actually kind of amazing how much better they are now. I highly recommend them for anything to do with your garage doors. Thanks!

Lonnie took my call, answered all my questions, and quoted me a fair price based on what other such installations have cost. A month later I called them and scheduled the installation. (Needed to get some electrical work done first.) When Adam arrived he did some quick measurements based on how the garage doors opened and informed me that the track for the belt drive openers wouldn't fit since I had such a low ceiling. He took photos and discussed it with Nick, the Service Manager. After some serious discussions a solution was found and thanks to the exceptional team of Adam, Nick, and Lonnie I now have excellent garage door openers and an answer why previous owners never installed them. Great problem solvers!
