Prompt, courteous care. I don't love going to the dentist, but Meyers' staff makes it much easier!

Great job of preserving my teeth battling some 20 years battling Periodontal gum disease…read more I now live in San Marcos de Tarazu Costa Rica. Ironically I now have great dental coverage. I got rid of my Medicare B which cost $318 a month for supposedly 80% coverage. I replaced it with 100% coverage including dental for both my wife and self costing $60 a month. That alone pays the $220 rent on my two bedroom/two bath house, plus the utilities. Then both my wife's older sister and her husband are physicians living 600 meters away, an aunt is an orthodontist living less than a kilometer away. Gee how my life changed. beyond that my wife's nephew is head of security at the airport, an uncle is governor of the province. Something I do find confusing is after a total of some 25 years fighting periodontal disease and cleaning 3 times yearly, the condition had finally shown some slight improvement on my last visit with Dr Soder. And since moving here it has corrected itself entirely. I had high blood pressure, tachycardia and depression in the US. All those are now gone. I had broken a knee cap at age 15 and prior to leaving the US used to limp up hill from the mail box. That too is gone. My BP is now 104/55, resting pulse 56. I work out at the gym 2 hours a day and bench press 110 kilos (242 pounds) for sets of 10 repetitions, in spite of carrying two AK-47 bullets in my torso for the past 49 years, plus a load of surgical hardware in my arm , the result of 8 bone surgeries for 45 years. I take no medications of any kind.Maybe not so much a miracle than simply being far away from VA Miscare. The changes began even before leaving the US when I quit treatment and medications from the Roseburg VA. I would really like to identify just why all my previous health problems corrected. My diet has definitely changed. I eat much like people here, fresh items grown without chemicals.and not processed. Perhaps just the freedom and happiness I now have. By 2010 relatives and friends in the US had died. So it was time to move on and as I did, acquire a new family. My wife is a professor of language at University of Costa Rica (Spanish, English, Portuguese, German and French) So, Dr Soder with a bit of showing for the gratitude over the years, you can expect to see a bag of coffee to arrive from Costa Rica. And I understand Starbucks is using an inferior coffee from here as the highest priced on their menu. The brand is Dota but for export most frequently labeled as Britt. Absolutely no one practicing dental procedures is more caring than Dr Soder. And he works with patients to give proper treatment with affordability.

Much of the dental work I've had there has had to be redone…read more Apparently the assistants do the fillings after the dentist does the prep. They also do not seem to understand how not to leave an overhang and how to finish a margin. The office looks nice, but the skill level of the dentistry is poor to middling, depending on who you get. They cycle baby docs through there, who get their experience there, and then move on. My guess is that they don't vett anyone. I find the forced friendly thing to be over the top and tiresome. The problem is thatvthey literally dont know what they should know. Also I've had some interesting bookkeeping issues there, like a credit for over $500 that I wasn't told about, until they wouldn't take my new insurance, and wanted me to pay on their insurance plan. I find their bookkeeping and dental skills suspiciously inadequate

I was a little late for my appointment and the person at the desk said I may not be seen and may have to reschedule which was upsetting because I was getting the second half of a bridge fitted that day. They did end up seeing me but being told that felt a little harsh, however, this is the only discomforting experience I've had with them.

Dear Patients of Hucrest Family & Implant Dentistry,…read more Over the last several years, I have slowly transitioned out of general dentistry and focused on my specialty of dental anesthesiology. Dr. White has been the primary general dentist of the practice since coming aboard in 2015. He has provided excellent patient care, while gaining their trust and respect. My intention has always been to retain some ownership of the practice and have Dr. White join as an equal partner. Due to a series of "life events" my family has experienced; things haven't gone as planned. In January 2024, Dr. White purchased the practice and is now the sole owner of Hucrest Family & Implant Dentistry. Dr. White will continue his role as the primary dentist with the same focus of general and family dentistry. Additionally, he will maintain some level of specialty referrals for those requiring my expertise to facilitate their dental treatment with the priority given to children and those with special needs who are candidates for in office sedation/anesthesia. To provide context to these "life events" I would like to share a couple of things that lead to my decision to sell the entire practice. Like most people, my tendency is to be keep my "life events" to myself, but I felt it important to reciprocate the same level vulnerability and trust that has been given to me by the patients over the years. The foremost reason for stepping back is related to my wife being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer in the fall of 2021. She has fought through chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and multiple surgeries related with her disease. Due to her health, I am choosing to prioritize time with my family, especially now that my daughter is close to graduating high school and will be leaving for college soon. Many of you know I have provided continuing education to other dentists both locally and nationally by mentoring and lecturing regularly in Portland, Las Vegas, and Chicago among other cities. Being one of only 300 board certified dental anesthesiologists in the country provides many opportunities to educate dentists and shape the future of dentistry. In fact, I recently accepted a position of clinical professor at OHSU's School of Dentistry a couple days per month in hopes to establish a future Dental Anesthesiology residency at OHSU. This position allows the opportunity to share my expertise as a Dental Anesthesiologist to the next generation of Dentists and various Dental Specialists by overseeing their sedation/anesthesia cases in OHSU's post-doctorate clinics. The ability to share my expertise and set standards for patient safety for the future dental providers is a very important component within our statewide and national dental community. As I have stepped back from my owner responsibilities, I have more time to dedicate to my family, provide mobile anesthesia services to dentists, explore opportunities within my specialty, and still work back a few days per month in the dental office that has been my home base for the last 15 years. It was my privilege to earn your trust and build relationships over the years. Please accept my heart felt "thank you" for allowing the opportunity to be part of your dental health. For the review the that attempted to shame me and questioned my professionalism, I hope this letter provides some perspective. Although, my availability at the Hucrest office is less than before, I am still working back to continue care for those requiring my services. It must be known that some insurances required patients to be referred back to their primary office due to specific contractual agreements. While I understand your frustration, I do not regret placing priority on my family during this time in my life. I feel no shame on my decision and wish you the best. Sincerely, Jeffrey A Kobernik DMD

Everything at the front desk, and office is amazing! Everyone is very nice. I just ask you please…read moreask for an estimate before agreeing to have work done. We went in as a recommendation from a new dentist after our dentist office burnt down. We went in to have two teeth pulled and prep for a front tooth implant. When checking in we were told if we paid in full with cash we could get a 5 percent discount. Sounded like a good deal. When we were told it was just over 2k (shocked) we just assumed that included the implant. Boyyyyyyy were we wrong. Not only did it not include the implant (wishful thinking) It also didn't even complete the amount we owed for the two teeth pulled. when my husband went in for a follow up visit he created a workup report on some laser treatment, before he could guarantee the implant. That total was over 14 grand, mind you this still wasn't including the implant. Of course we went somewhere else and after two other opinions we found a very awesome place that will give my husband his front tooth back for a good price. No pre 14k needed. To make matters worse we received another bill for the original proceedure for $900. Who knew that was coming? And because we didn't pay it right away (it's been 30 days) They are already threatening collections. We are still trying to figure out what that $900 is for??? The bill they sent is VERY confusing. Frankly, they may be nice and do good work, but I don't enjoy being gouged! If we pay that, who's to know if another random bill is in the mail? VERY UNHAPPY AND WILL NEVER RETURN!!!

I love these guys. They are total professionals! Super nice but, more importantly, passionate…read moreabout their work, they are the best. I highly recommend them.
