I told them I had the same symptoms as I did before that surgery. After waiting 4 hours where at one point there were only 3 other people, I finally left without being seen. One couple was still waiting and they had been there 6 hours. Another woman had been there about the same amount of time. She was very concerned about getting home because she came by ambulance and was in a non-folding wheelchair. One nurse was extremely rude to her and said the place they use to give patients rides home in a case like this was closed and asked if her family could get her. She said no. She was shaking and panicking. I tried to find a business that was still open and had no luck. I then asked on Facebook if anyone could help. A very nice woman agreed to drive from Ankeny to give her a ride! I went to the nurse and told her I found her a ride only to be told they had one for her since she had finally been taken to a room. Why this wasn't explained to us is beyond me. It would have saved this woman from panicking and me from spending an hour looking for a ride for her.

I had my first colonoscopy today at 52 yrs old. I had a huge amount of anxiety with it for a…read morecouple of reasons. My heart rate and blood pressure reflected that anxiety. Let's call the first one masculinity issues...I won't go in depth on that, but I think most men get it. Women will think it's stupid because they have things done that are way more intrusive. The second one was fear of the results. I've lost friends to cancer, I've seen others fight it and recover, and I know people who live with it currently. It's never a good thing. I started a clear liquid diet at 500 pm on Wednesday. I drank the first half of my prep from 400 pm - 600 pm on Thursday. I had to get up and drink the rest of the prep at 245 am - 445 this morning. Lots of trips to the bathroom and a couple rolls of toilet paper. Drinking the prep was the worst part (and not eating real food for 40+ hrs). I didn't flavor it or anything. It's a little thick and best chased with some water. Check in at 715 am and the procedure was scheduled at 845 am. During the check in you get undressed, gowned up, and they start a fluid IV. Vitals check. In my case they asked a lot of medical history questions at this point too. When it's time you walk to the procedure room, you lay down and they go over the procedure with you, and then the sedation is started. The procedure takes 15 min to an hour or so. Mine took less than 30 min...I think. I don't really remember anything that happened in the procedure room after the doctor (Dr He) discussed the procedure with me. I thought I'd be in a semi-conscious twilight sleep. I was completely out. I don't remember anything until I was in recovery. You are required to have a driver because of the sedation. I'm glad my gf was there because I don't even remember some of what was said in recovery. I had no discomfort. Then you get dressed and go home... We were in the car by 1000 am. Bottom line it really wasn't that bad and I'm not sure why I was so worried. If you suffer from the same fears that I do/did. Don't. Having fears is normal and okay, but don't sacrifice your own health because of them. It's a necessary screening process as we age. Oh by the way. Clean bill of health. No polyps... The service I received from everyone here was no less than stellar from scheduling to intake to recovery. A real class act!

They have a free charging station for phones near the TV on the far end. Several TV and chairs spaced out throughout the first floor. Restrooms are not clearly found if not looking for them. Also. The suites are not readily visible all the time. Look up and you'll find the suite numbers hanging most of the time, but I wish they made it a little more obvious. After the procedure, I was able to enter the office and stay in the recovery room with the patient. Staff inside were exceptional and very attentive. Update from doctor was brief but informative. Nursing staff did a great job at discharge and prepping us for at home care.

I had cancer and also have it again and Dr Munro was/is always there for me. He is kind, considerate,caring, professional and has much empathy. He listens when I need to talk, sends me wherever I need to go. I had a meltdown and called the office and they asked him if he could squeeze me in and he said of course. He doesn't even mind my crazy. I wouldn't ever see anyone else. I hope he is my Doctor for the rest of my life, because I don't want to start over with someone else. I'm not sure I'd be here if it weren't for Dr Munro. I also see Kim, the therapist and she is wonderful, she listens, talks things out with me. She's the best. I also want to say that Diana (Dr Munro's nurse and Amy the other nurse are so kind and thoughtful. Bailey Webb treats my son and husband and she has always been helpful. The girls at the front desk are always pleasant and professional. I absolutely love this office and I hope it never changes. Sometimes you get what you get by the attitude you present, if you go in all crabby and demanding, you're probably not gonna get the best care you want, they will try, but you won't think it was. So, go in with knowing that they are human and so have bad days, probably because of a difficult patient... so try and give them a break or a second chance.

We tried many times and to get documentation from Dr. Munro and the clinic…read moreto get paperwork in a timely manner which was not done when needed and we requested to speak with the clinic manager on numerous occasions by email, voicemails and other means which never happened and no call from them. Dr Munro kept asking for visits to have paperwork filled out that we needed and charged our insurance when the specific paperwork was not sent over until multiple emails and calls were made to only be placed on hold for over 5 minutes each time and no one would answer and then calling back to be placed on hold even when told no when asked to hold and that I didn't want to be placed on hold and Bree would place me on hold anyways. I sent an email and left a voicemail for Dr. Munros nurse to call me back as we just needed confirmation that the doctors were sent and the fax confirmation with information and documents sent directly to us. That wad finally done 2 days after my 3rd visit by Dr. Monroe as he called us back hours later as he was just now faxing over the information information that we needed and that was two days after our appointment with him to get the exact documentation. Nothing like milking our insurance company for unnecessary visits. And then the doctor wants to terminate our relationship because they couldn't follow through with getting the documentation sent over when we originally had our visits! We never received a phone call from the clinic manager or clinic Director as we requested this numerous times by emails and calls to get this issue resolved and to get feedback. The nurse should've sent the information over the day of the appointment which never happened. The doctor was sending it two days later when we finally got a phone call from him!! the only thing that Monroe wanted to do for long Covid say to drink enough water, eat well and get enough sleep. seriously?! no other treatment is available out there for this?? this clinic will be one that I tell everybody to stay away from! If you're seeking Long Covid treatment, this is not the doctor that you want to see! They don't follow through with the things as they should in a timely manner and the only treatment they recommend is what a normal physician would recommend. Ridiculous! And to say that I was abusive to staff to say "No" to being placed on hold is a lie!! I terminate my relationship with Dr. Munro as he is not someone I would recommend to anybody and exaggerated the truth to what really happened and is only covering for his nurse not doing her job to send what I needed over on Monday when I had my appointment as that wasn't done even by Wednesday when I sent emails and then started calling. Why would I want to continue to see somebody that doesn't take care of my needs as a customer for a service that I have paid for. Possibly insurance fraud? 3 visits for paperwork seems a bit extreme... and to get the correct paperwork? Sounds a little excessive to me!! If I could give them a -5 stars, I would!!
