Here's the reason why the Crafts Center earned this one star review. I enrolled in the beginning sewing class taught by Roberta. Roberta wasn't able to effectively teach all 8 students at once in my experience. For some students she was incredibly attentive and they (first time sewist) finished fabulous projects such as a jacket with set in sleeves. My experience was very different. Roberta could not help me read a beginner pattern (pull on Pietra shorts from Closet Core Patterns), shamed me for not using a Big 4 pattern (which I don't fit into for bust and hips so that wasn't an option) and making a muslin (which is super necessary for my body proportions to check fit), couldn't pivot to tell me how to adjust for high (15") waist/hip difference, or help me learn (in the last class) to sew a basic zigzag stitch. There were constant issues with the equipment in the room and basic supplies such as seam rippers were not provided (Roberta never told us to purchase them, so when I needed a seam ripper during class and there was none, I had to leave to go purchase one). Roberta chose not to wear a mask during the first session of the class (~January 2022) during an Omicron surge. I asked over email several times to talk to someone about this class so that no one else would have to have the atrocious experiences I did. They said that they reminded Roberta about the mask policy and suggested that I talk to someone at the front desk but for the two subsequent classes, there wasn't anyone at the front desk when I arrived to the building. Roberta apologized at the end of the class for not being able to teach me but the bigger question is why would the Crafts Center hire a teacher that can only teach some, but not all, students? The Crafts Center charged me $95 for class where I learned absolutely nothing. I could say you get what you pay for but in this case I paid for getting nothing. Future students should know that the Crafts Center has a zero refund policy once the class starts. Save yourself time and hassle by taking a beginning sewing class somewhere else that actually is invested in teaching *all* students with folks who are good teachers, not just good artisans.

Every studio has some kind of class going on: clay, jewelry, photo, painting, woodwork, you name it. The classes have reasonable schedules that accommodate full-time working adults. The prices are quite low. I'm always excited to come here and learn some neat techniques despite it being Monday night. If you are considering anew hobby and looking for classes, check out this place first.

There were so many beautiful and creative works of art in the gallery. I enjoyed the opportunity to view them. I felt welcomed to look around, although I did not intend to purchase art. It does seem to be part of the Triangle Cultural & Art model to welcome all, even those who may be unable to purchase original art. I discovered that there are installment options if there is a piece I was drawn to and wanted to purchase. I didn't see anything that truly spoke to any spaces I could fill with Art. I did purchase an Art Card and unique handcrafted earrings. I think you should see the Gallery yourself. Go take look around, thank me later.

My co-workers and I were charged $40 a piece for an Advertisement for a Sip-n-Paint, which included…read morebeverages and snacks. This place was over priced for the experience. There were no snacks and the owners stated that this was due to Covid. When I asked what they served prior to Covid, the Owner said chips and pretzels. They served cheap wine in a plastic cup, deer park water, and a few can drinks. My co-workers stated that the wine was horrible. The owners stated that we could only have 1 small portion of wine so that we could remain focused on our work. They also stated if you brought your own bottle in, you could only have a small portion, which ended up being less than half a cup. Our group felt rushed as the Owner kept reminding us of our time. Before we started painting the owner stated that they needed to change the music to more fast paced music so that we could end on time. Stencils were used and the Facilitator of the class didn't even paint along with us to provide direction. The one painting that he had up looked like another inexperienced customer painted it and that's what they used as a guide. They used paper plates to put our paint on. Usually at more quality events, small plastic painters pallets are used. The energy was off as soon as we walked in, but they posted the event on Eventbrite and we could not get our money refunded. I'm not even sure if these people know much about art. The only direction that was given during the class was letting you know what colors to mix and how to hold 1 brush. Trust me...don't waste your time!!! This place is cheap and that is the experience that you will get for $40. Be blessed!

My family - including a 12 & 14 yr old - LOVED our experience with Christal. The review from the…read morewoman that took a class in Colorado was judgmental of Christal's home. You will park in a cul-de-sac. So? She has projects ongoing in her yard. So? The other reviewer maybe expected Martha Stewart. Anyway, the four of us have taken Christal's class twice. She lets you use Groupon for her classes (not limited to one Groupon). She gives instructions for about 15 minutes. You cannot use the colored glass that the other reviewer was crying about because it is specially purchased by Christal for her stained-glass business. Makes sense. There are buckets upon buckets of glass pieces in various colors. Any color you could want! She supplies other interesting shapes and sizes of adornments for your project. You have the choice of many items to make - a set of 4 small squares, a large rectangular piece, 2 small rectangles, and some others. These can be shaped into bowls, soap dishes, and other curved/waved designs after the glass cures in the kiln. You need to bring your creativity and your big girl panties though. Christal allows you to use the time as YOU want. And she's brutally honest about "don't park on the grass" and "don't touch the glass for my business." If you are easily offended then her dry humor and quick wit might offend you. We thought she was hilarious, helpful, and creative. The fact that she opens her home so strangers can take time away from television, computers, etc and let their creativity flow is wonderful. Getting our two kiddos out of the house and truly focused on something they could create with their hands....it was invaluable. Both could have spent many more hours there. The time went too quickly. So, if you are open-minded about trying something new and fun, my biggest tip is to take a design with you that you want to create. Using class time to think of your creation eats through time you need for designing your glass. And if you run out of time then book another session! We loved it. I hope you will too.

It was really far away (granted we live in Knightdale) and in a residential neighborhood. You park in the cul-de-sac (I am sure the neighbors love that) and there is a barrel blocking the driveway. The outside of the house has all sorts of junk and tarps and stuff all over (again- lucky neighbors). I get being eccentric and I appreciate the artsy type, but it just seemed like there was junk all in the yard, in the studio and even in the bathroom. It did not feel clean or organized. It is clear this is her work space but I think she needs to have an organized, less clutter space for the classes. We got about 10 minutes of basic instruction and then were off on our own. We did not learn anything cool and were not allowed to play with color and different glass types or do anything other than just cut and grind glass. Our experience in Colorado was SO much better and more creative. It was a 2 hour class so some bottled water or something would have been nice to have been offered. My hubby got a Amazon deal and I have to tell you even at that price it was overpriced for what you get and the teaching you got. To avoid going all of the way back out there we opted to pay $12 to have it shipped to the house and she said over and over how she is really bad at remembering to ship things and to text her in a couple of weeks if we have not gotten it to bug her about it. I got this is not like a professional business because of the nature of it, but it really did not seen to run or feel like something worth paying for.

They are growing and finding their way in creating a beautiful and functional studio space for our community, and I'm here for it. I'm now a member of the pottery studio, and have learned so much. They're always friendly and helpful. If there's ever something I've needed or wondered about, they haven't treated me like I'm an inconvenience. The membership is extremely reasonable as well. I will be a member as long as I'm able to!

The staff said they rotate the art frequently, though most of the offerings appear to be more modern. We saw some cool little items but the large paintings on display didn't really do it for us on this visit. Still a cool place to look around in, though.
