Joyce is so unique-- it has the Medieval Lecce ambiance with its gorgeous stone and star vaulted ceilings, plenty of wines and Apulian specialties on the menu (friselle!) yet it's also very Irish with its beer selection, pub accents and St Paddy's Day celebration (we were there a few days before it). You feel that warm hospitality that is so common in this region and it's festive, even when it's not St. Paddy's. They play all kinds of music, especially 60s-80s. So fun! I ordered two frieselle, a tomato/olive and a vegetarian (loaded with squash, radicchio, and tomatoes). I appreciate how generous they are with all the veggies and olives. A sprinkle of oil and salt make this so delicious and satisfying. Paired with a glass of wine... how good can you get? read more

Mediocre pizza and the worst service in Europe. They are passing off swill for the expensive Belgian beers on the menu and refuse to address the issue when called out. I know my Belgian beers, and what they're serving is not what they're claiming it to be. The place was almost empty on a Saturday night with a World Cup match on (which tells you everything you need to know) and it still took the waitress 20+ minutes in between visits to the table. Finally had to go to the bar for service. Literally anywhere in Catania would be better for food, beer, and especially service. read more
The special of the day - pasta with meatballs was delicious. The meatballs were really tasty. Also got the soup of the day - lentil soup and that was good as well. My friend got the pesto pasta made of arugula and it was very light and flavorful. The staff were very friendly too. We went to this restaurant because it was one of the only ones open and our guide recommended it. The food was delicious and I would highly recommend it. read more

This was a great place for drinks and dinner. The food is fresh and excellently prepared, the wait staff was superb and attentive and the location truly unique and rustic. The cuisine is traditional Salentine. The wine list is excellent and the prices reasonable. I loved the meatballs, my kid particularly enjoyed the "pittule", traditional fried dough from Lecce. The owners Claudio is a true gentleman and his daughter Alessia runs the place with grace and efficiency. She also speaks excellent English. A true gem that I highly recommend read more
