I stopped in here alone one evening, anxious to just sit and read by myself. Sitting outside, watching people go by on bicycles, I was suddenly homesick. I found myself discussing the menu and my likes and dislikes at some length with two waitresses, both of whom were incredibly kind and helpful. Since I couldn't eat the fried foods, they worked with the chef to come up with something not necessarily on the menu that would satisfy both my palate and my craving for protein.
Yes, the food is nothing special. However, it isn't over-salted, it isn't over-cooked, and the chef bent over backward to make sure I had the meal I wanted. Very friendly staff without ever being obnoxious, and an extremely pleasant way to spend an evening. No one rushed me to finish, no one rushed me to pay.
