While I hired them specifically to address an excess FICA-OA overpayment, they failed to do so, demonstrating a lack of expertise and attention to detail. Multiple Errors and Wasted Time Despite discussing my specific tax situation and the excess social security overpayment from my two W-2s multiple times--first on the phone and again during our in-person meeting--Valhalla Tax Services did not properly address the issue. Instead of helping me with this specific need related to my filing, I was met with a frustrating lack of understanding and was eventually told by Scott Kunz that it was my employer's responsibility to handle the overage. This advice directly contradicted the explicit instructions I had from my company, which clearly stated they have a standing agreement with the IRS and are not able to issue refunds themselves. The entire reason I hired a professional was for this specific, complex issue, and Valhalla Tax Services completely failed to deliver. The irony is that before I even filed, they tried to upsell me on additional services generally and specifically for my upcoming international work assignment. Thank goodness I decided to wait and see how the tax filing went before committing to any more support from them. Compounded Frustration and Lack of Professionalism To make matters worse, this wasn't the first mistake. During our tax filing meeting, I had to point out that an entire W-2 had been missed. This pattern of errors and the subsequent lack of responsiveness--leaving me to assume they couldn't help--is unacceptable. The failure to handle a key component of my tax return has cost me time, money, and immense frustration, especially since I'm trying to resolve this from another country while on international assignment for work, at this point. When I switched from them, I paid a quarter of what they were charging me to get my taxes done. Not only do they take months and months and months to get an individuals taxes done but they also charge five times more than anyone else. They do not know what Customer Service is nor do they care to even be nice. If you want severely overpriced, and have it take four months or more to get your taxes done and an incredibly rude tax service, this is the place for you. We found out that Resolute had not filed an OIC as promised but was working out a payment plan which we could have done ourselves. DO NOT USE THIS FRAUD. I'm disappointed and will never see my $3k. I can't speak poorly enough of the treatment and service we received. I'll be posting this to every possible website that allows reviews. We ultimately ended up using Brandon Keim at Frazer, Ryan, Goldberg & Arnold LLP. We paid $1,500 on retainer and didn't even end up paying $3k. The tax bill will be settled for a minute fraction of the original owed amount. No thanks to Brandon Metcalfe and his joke of a company.
