I apologize in advance for the lengthiness of this review. My initial review was flagged & removed…read moredue to lack of a unique firsthand experience. Therefore, I will try to be as specific as possible. We contracted with Park Place Interiors (Windsor location) in January 2019 to perform tilework & refinish our hardwood floors. We had an extremely poor experience from start to finish. From cracked tiles with multiple repairs to two entire hardwood floor refinishes that were ultimately declared non-idustry standard. A member from the NWFA (National Wood Floors Association) recommended that our floors be completely re-sanded to bare wood & that resulting damages occured because best practices were not followed. From a customer service standpoint, we felt our concerns were never taken seriously & that we were dismissed time & time again. We allowed for several repairs to both our tile & hardwoods & remained out of our house for two weeks total while our hardwood floors were refinished - twice! The first refinish included multiple splotchy areas & was not the custom gray color we had chosen. Each time access was permitted, our home either sustained additional damages or underwent ill-attempted repairs. Dan, the president of PPI, placed brown wood putty on our gray hardwoods to cover a seam that had been missed during the two complete refinishes. He also tried to cut out stain from our carpets only to expose the existing plywood underneath. We felt we had no other choice but to hire legal representation after an "attempt to lien" was filed on our house. We had previously been threatened with PPI's attorney involvement & a submittal of our paperwork to 'PFC' (a local collections agency). Sharis, the owner of their Windsor location, stated that they had done everything within their power to fix our items & that this was just a ploy not to pay our bill. In other written correspondence, she alluded to the fact that we were not professional or tactful enough to be their clients (though, she had never personally met with us or listened to our concerns directly). Her opinion of us was based solely on hearsay information. Lastly, Keith, our project manager for the job humiliated us further by stating in a professional flooring report that in the forty years he had been doing this type of work, he had never seen a customer crawl on their hands & knees searching for problems & that he, personally, saw no defects in the work done to refinish our existing hardwood floor. The pictures speak for themselves. We were so disheartened that a proper resolve could not have been reached without legal intervention. We chose PPI because they were a local, family-operated business. Their mission statement is... "the difference is in the details." We honestly felt we had met our perfect match with a company that shared our same philosophy. We never imagined that PPI would not look out for our best interest. It took over 9.5 months from our project's start date for a settlement to be reached & it is now more than 1.5 years later & we are still amidst repairs! Bottom line: You are not obligated to pay for work that is not up to the standards of the industry &/or for work that results in consequential damages. And, it is a shameful practice for a business to attempt to bully a customer into payment... Buyer beware! The attached photos represent the actual work performed at our residence. We sustained damages due to stain contamination to our bathroom & kitchen cabinetry, adjoining carpets, tile floors, baseboards, handrails, door jambs, appliances, walls, etc. Additionally, we still have several defective floor tiles & ongoing grout issues.

We hired Jacob Martin of "Malinois Remodeling Services" to remodel our bathroom…read more On August 22, 2024 and we signed our construction contract stating he will begin work 9/14 to finish 9/25. We paid by check a deposit which was half of the project funds Before he even started the job, he started emailing to delay. He emailed us on 9/9 and stated that he would be able to demo the bathroom on 9/14 & 9/15 as scheduled but he would be delayed because of another job and wouldn't be able to begin the rebuilding of the bathroom until 9/19. We agreed to proceed. The demolition invoice was itemized and he completed most of the demo on 9/14-15. However, he did not complete the entire job. We discussed that our tile was a lead glaze and he spoke of all the precautions he would take. He did NONE of that, we had lead dust EVERYWHERE in our bedroom, in our air vents, in our drain. On 9/18, we emailed him to confirm his start time on 9/19 as we had not heard from him. He replied to my email stating he would be delayed again at another project until 9/25. So on 9/22, we terminated his services via email and requested a refund of the balance for uncompleted work. We have not heard back except to reply he got the email. We are currently sitting with a demolished bathroom, no communication, and no response regarding the deposit. I do not recommended this individual at all.

Excited I was working with a veteran it quickly turned into a horrible experience. Prompt when he wanted me to sign the contract and get the deposit. Came at 9 the first morning dropped my carpet off and said they had to run town and be back in 30 minutes. 3 hrs later they return. they try to bring a huge roll of carpet in my house and scraped the new paint on my doors and walls. The carpet pad was partially laid and they went home. Next day they were to return by 9 and at 1230 I called them and I was told they were on their way and would be here soon. 1 pm they come in and work for 3 hours and leave. Day 3 they arrive and work for a bit then leave. day 4 they finish. I inspect and initially it looked ok. after walking on it the seams started to show everywhere and the spots where they patched the carpet. the stairs had bulges, could see every staple, see the wood on the stairs, see the seams. I call and want them to return. I get the excuse that the stairs don't take to the carpet well so the staples and nails won't hold. They come back and try to fix but it still looks very bad. I realize I paid them for the carpet and the deck all at one time. They did not do the deck. I message them to tell them I want a refund of 900$ because the deck was not done. I also request a refund because the carpeting looks so bad it will make selling my house hard. I then get blocked on their messenger so I can no longer send messages. I am blocked when I try to text them. I have since found out that they have NO experience doing carpeting. I spoke to the person who sold them the carpet I chose. They told her they have never installed carpeting before. She told them exactly what to do and they did not follow what she told them. I have since had her company come to my house and fix the mistakes and she told me I was over charged by 2500.00, I have filed with the BBB. I am now moving forward with small claims court. Beware of this company. I went off of the VETERAN motive to move forward with them but now it makes me second guess when people use this. This company overcharges for their work and their work is not good at all. I have a ton of pics I can post of what they have done and what it looks like after fixed and guess what?? the carpet and stairs work well together, and the staples and nails are not noticeable.
