However, when I started comparing what we were being charged with receipts from the home's previous owner, the rates were higher than expected. When I called to negotiate with CES, they were uncooperative and failed to even call me back several times. No response to emails, either. Combine that with all manner of absurd policies and fees, and I had enough. Another local business, Sullivan County Septic, recommended I take a look at Van Etten Oil (VEO), so I sent an email and got a personal reply from Eli Van Etten, who quoted me a great rate for LP, along with a no-nonsense price to get a new tank installed and ready to go. I was already being treated better than CES had been so I leapt at the opportunity. On installation day, super friendly Mike showed up and put the new tank in, moved the old tank to the perfect out-of-the-way spot in the yard so it could wait for CES to pick it up, then safety checked all my gas appliances and made a couple of simple recommendations that were much appreciated. On top of everything else, they do algorithmic forecasts of your use needs so that the tank gets filled without you having to remember to call, and the price is better, even if you don't buy a ton of gas from them. They installed the gas line wrong and my contractor who was remodeling the kitchen had to fix it. They were supposed to run a line to the gas grill and never did. I called this company about a week before the scheduled cleaning date and told the owner how important it was that the technician be ON TIME because I was moving out and had a very small window to work with. I also told her if she couldn't do it, to let me know and I'd book someone else. She ASSURED me that they'd make the timing work. Fast forward to yesterday and less than an hour before they're supposed to show up, the owner texts me to tell me they have to reschedule for 5 hours later or today. I immediately texted her back saying that this was NOT what we agreed on and to call me. She didn't call me. In fact, I waited about 30 minutes to hear ANYTHING from her. Her name is Monica. About 30 minutes later after not hearing back. I called the company about 10 times in a row. She finally texted me back and told me that she could get another tech out to me in an hour. Marissa showed up and did such an amazing job. I would highly recommend requesting her. The apartment looked like a war zone after we moved out and after she left, it looked amazing. Truly.

Some of the house was clean, most of it (the parts you get a cleaning service for) was not. The house was recently renovated so needed a deep cleaning. I am in the middle of sanding the stairs and they were left in the same condition she walked into. The rag in the pictures are what I used to clean them after she left. When I called her she said she mopped them, swept them, and vacuumed. You be the judge? The baseboards downstairs were not clean - visual dust without even bending down, fridge was left the same, oven top not cleaned, even the bathroom niche was dirty, food cans in open cabinets just pushed to the back to make it seem like contents were taken out and cabinet properly wiped down. I can go on and on and could have taken way more photos, but don't want to waste anymore time on this. I contacted her right away and sent pictures. She said she couldn't get the photos and hours later said she would reimburse me $50 and a free cleaning. Why in the world would I want her to "clean" again. This was nothing but a headache.
