Oh my goodness is the only way to begin this review…read more I was in Mendocino for a long weekend and decided I really needed a massage. Of course I did this very last minute (the day of) and I called around. Sue was able to get me in that evening for a 2 hour "Raindrop Therapy" massage. Her space is a charming little cottage off of the main strip in Mendocino. Both she and her space are absolutely delightful! Before we began we discussed my needs, likes, dislikes, what's going on in my life, etc. This helps her get a feel for me and what my body may need. Once the massage began, we talked a bit about oils and what some of them were doing for my body. She was very generous with the essential oils (which I love) and her time to really work on my body. The combination of her knowledge, firm touch understanding of a bodies needs, oils, warm towels and stones... so wonderful. The massage ended with a salt scrub on my feet, and the ringing of Tibetan singing bowls being chimed under the bed. When I came out of the room I was greeted with a delightful cup of herbal tea. I actually smelled a bit like a wonderful floral/herbal tea when I left. I let the oils stay on my skin all night so that they could work their "magic". I live down in Marin but am already thinking about planning another overnight visit to Mendocino just so I can get another one of these amazing massages.

I went in with a 'flare-up' of lower back pain caused by a bulge on a disk, that occurred years ago, but has only recently resurfaced in the form of a damn fine pain in the back. Bill, who is a DC, (chiro) is also into bodywork, and is also an acupuncturist. After the first session (1 1/2 hours) I had lost all pain. Don't get hyper-it'll most probably show back up, but hopefully to a vastly lesser degree. (he says). I know I feel much better .... I am going to use a heat/cold combo for 'keepin the inflammation down' and see him again in a week. PS...he is also a musician, playin jazz around here, and I got myself an invite for Saturday night to a gig at an Italian Restaurant in Fort Bragg.... V'Canto ... the 2 reviews for the eatery are both 3 stars, but the verbage seems like I would have maybe rated it higher??!! I will rate it after my foray on Saturday night!
