My tried and true mom and pop smoothie shop! They are especially good when it's hot (like today!) This place has been around for as long as I can remember and I've been living in LM for over since I was a kid. My go to is normally the Number 1 Grand Slam. Always refreshing. Service is good, typically have no issues. A little wait if there are people behind you since there's only one person working (from what I saw). They have a couple tables inside but I typically just take my smoothie to go. With how expensive things are, prices have to go up with them so I was somewhat surprised at the cost of a 24 oz ($9.25) and 32oz ($10.50). Talk about nostalgia in a cup. I used to frequent Juice Stop decades ago when they had more than one location. I stumbled upon this location while in the area and knew that I needed to take my kids to experience this deliciousness. Plenty of available parking. The employee was very friendly and helpful. There was no line and it was very quiet as one of the perks so you can really enjoy your smoothie. He made the smoothies fairly fast and a 24 ounce is about nine dollars. I got the number 15 which is a mango strawberry sherbet and it was really good. I will come back and refer to my friends. and my mom gonna make your own juice. it was really good. Stopped-in yesterday afternoon at 5:00 PM. It was 75-degrees outside, yet I was the only customer in the store. The Juice Stop offers 47 smoothie options, but only one smoothie with mango (sad face). The young man working the counter told me that menu items 1-28 are part of the "chain store" menu and 29-47 are unique to the La Mirada store. I decided to try the Number 15 ("Freestyle") which was Mango, Strawberry, Peach, and Sherbet blend for $6.75. It was very tasty/refreshing and not too sweet. They provide paper straws, which is a pet-peeve of mine. I'm all for recycling and saving the planet, but I hate paper straws. The dining table area was clean, and I thought the experience was okay, but I've had smoothies at other places that are just as good and about $1 or more less expensive. This place is great if you can get there during their limited hours. I would stop here so much more, but they open after I leave for work and they close before I get home. I've been coming here for over 15 years! This spot is so much better then any big named smoothie location and they do have the best wheatgrass shots! Smoothies are a great value for price. As much as I love Nekter, you get more for your money at Juice Stop, although quality between the two is debatable. Nekter uses frozen, real ingredients, less ice, isn't as sweet (which I like), and is great if you're willing to pay the price. They also offer great add ins. Juice Stop is more for those who want to drink smoothies without being robbed. Their smoothies are delicious, still great ingredients, but I feel like they use more ice... but you get a bigger size than at Nekter so maybe it pays off. The awesome thing about these guys is they allow you two add up to TWO ADD INS to your smoothies at no extra cost! That's awesome. I guess it comes down to what you value more- quality or quantity. I have driven past this place numerous times as of late so when craving a smoothie a few days ago this place immediately came to mind to try. I was greeted almost immediately as I walked through the door by the girl behind the counter and her trainee and was asked if I had any questions. The first thing that caught my eye was the sheer amount of smoothie options offered at this place. Just about any fruit combination you could possibly come up with is on the menu in one form or another and the fruit taste fresh and flavorful. After scanning the menu for several minutes I decided to go with the Volley (all smoothies are named after various sports terminology) which consisted of blueberry, banana, boysenberry (three of my favorites) and non-fat yogurt. The trainee quickly took my payment and my fresh juicy concoction was quickly on it's way. As I waited for my smoothie to be prepared I decided to take a gander at the binder of nutritional facts on each smoothie offered on the menu. This was quite a thorough breakdown of all the various proteins, vitamins and other assorted minerals within each option and the total breakdown of calories for each. It was quite informative to see the difference in calories and vitamins between two different smoothies where only one key ingredient was changed for another. The smoothie came out a couple of minutes later and tasted great. The smoothie was thick and not runny like other juice places I have been to and you could really taste each fruit individually throughout which was nice. I saw at least 4-5 other options staring me in the face as I ordered the Volley so there isn't a doubt in my mind that I will not be back to try some more. I have noticed that several reviews of late have really been harping on this place for the lack of a fresh juice bar (as this is something they dropped awhile back) but this was not an issue with me. The menu is still diverse with lots of options to choose from and they have everything from smoothies, to fruit juices to ice blended chocolate drinks. The prices are good and the quality is better. If you are a fan of Jamba Juice, Robek's or Juice It Up give this place a try as they may be a great alternative for you. read more

Health, is always on my mind whatever I eat and what I drink I wonder what goes into my body and what it does for me. Recently been on this binge for drinking lots of fruit smoothies yes some people might say it will get you fat but I think it is way better than eating Cold Stones or something like that. When your in a frenzy of wanting to eat some kind of nice dessert you should try to drink a fruit smoothie. It makes perfect sense and you don't really have to worry that is horribly bad for you. :) I'm addicted and spoiled rotten in having a drink of wheat grass and a smoothie. I love this little store filled with love and care it reminds me of mom and pop juices near the beach when I was little and that is just a memory that I will always want to have !!
