The menu seemed to have all your essential north Indian dishes and does BYO, so naturally I went and ate as much as I physically could. First up we had the onion bhagi (a dish I always save for dining-in as they can go soggy when they're been delivered). They were on the money - crispy and not dripping in oil. For mains we only had palak paneer, mustard leaf saag and some plain naan - not my usual banquet ordering, but there were only two of us. It was all fantastic - lightly spiced and clearly made fresh to order. Kizzmat's service was friendly, the food came out quickly and the price was right. The only down side is it's strictly northern Indian fare - which is fine for most, but I'm a lover of southern-style food. Regardless, I'd happily go back.

I think I've only ever had the one menu item everytime I come and that is because it is a consistent good quality meal. I am talking about their Chicken Parmigiana for under $15, which is a large portion and better quality than a lot of pub Parma's priced over $20. The coffees here are also quite good. If you sit here long enough waiting for the rain to subside you notice many locals visit here, come in for a coffee and a chat - the staff are very friendly and seem to know their regulars well. The decor is simple but has many seating options, including main Street seating if you're into that sort of thing. For decent food in both price and taste and for friendly customer service, you should check this place out if you're in the neighbourhood.

This has been a North Balwyn institution since I was a little girl and it shows no signs of closing down anytime soon. You can smell the delicious chickens from a mile away and as soon as you step inside you are overcome with the sight of crispy meals, a huge array of salads and some pretty tasty chips. This is the perfect destination if you can't be bothered with cooking. You can either opt for the unhealthy options: chicken and chips, or try something lighter: chicken and salads. The service is quick and efficient and the staff seem nice enough. You can either eat in, or take away. The setting isn't very intimate or comfortable so I generally opt for the latter.
