Frank allowed me to choose the artwork (from an amazing selection) but guided me in a way I knew I would be pleased with the outcome. He walked me through choosing the photos and the frames to best set of the pieces and the rooms where they will be displayed. The finished pieces are pure perfection! Although called a museum, that term is wishful thinking. There are just a few small galleries…read moredisplaying paintings and sculpture, plus a vitrine displaying a number of ceramic pieces. There is also sculpture on the campus grounds. Taking photos inside the museum is not permitted but that's not really a problem because there is no depth to this collection: it's easy to breeze through here in about 30 minutes. However, there is one whimsical piece that rises above it all: Klompen. It's a room of wood clogs suspend from strings. Put a coin into the box and it turns on electronic instrumentation that creates sounds in the clogs. It's like a very elaborate wind chime and it gives a sense of humor to an otherwise dull visit.

I could see myself bringing in a print and having the staff here bring it to life with their skillful framing and design abilities. However, from the art gallery perspective, it was a lovely place and they had some terrific art on display. Fun fact, my partner and I had been admiring several pieces at different galleries throughout town and noticed that the same artist was on display here. As we were observing that out loud, the artist himself walked over and introduced himself. It was amazing-and such a testament to the small world philosophy.
