As soon as we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and seated right away. Our server was incredibly attentive, making thoughtful recommendations without being pushy, and checking in just the right amount to make sure we were happy without interrupting the flow of our meal. It felt like they genuinely cared about making sure we had a great experience. The food was just as impressive. We started with the crispy fish, three flavored fish, packed with fresh mangos on the side and served with a sweet chili sauce that had the perfect kick. The Tom Yum is pure balance of spicy, sour, and slightly sweet. You can immediately taste the fresh lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, and galangal, giving the soup a wonderfully aromatic lift. On Sunday evening, we walked in and were seated promptly. On a busier day, which you can check the wait times on Yelp, I would recommend getting on the waitlist once you're within radius. Some workers are masked. There's a restroom. Hand sanitizers at the entrance, middle of the restaurant, and at the restroom entrance. Not a lot of big groups so everyone was packed tightly into the booths to the right of the restaurant. The pad Thai is a must. Quickly ran out at the table. The fried rice was tasty and sweet. Literally said "mmm" as I had it. The chicken and meat weren't dry. Love the onion in the fried rice. The broccoli and pork was nice to have as a healthy vegetable dish on the side. Visited on a Tuesday night parking was a little tight since the plaza is shared by many businesses. Luckily inside wasn't too busy and I was seated immediately. I got seated in a booth it was very clean and spacious. The menu is huge I had to take a little bit of time to go through it. I ended up choosing the basil fried rice with beef, pad se eau with beef, bbq beef salad, and veggie tom yum soup. I ordered everything the spiciest level it wasn't bad didn't really taste any kick. The portions are quite big and all of the beef in every dish was soft and tender and easy to chew and eat. Everything was good and flavored well and not too oily like other places I just wish it was spicier. Luckily there was fish sauce and Thai chilis on the tables in the condiments and I was able to eat all the chilies in it. The bbq beef salad had so much beef in it was great and refreshing. The soup was a bit on the sweeter side but I'm sure it's because of all the veggies inside of it. The fried rice and pad se eau could have used some garlic flavor. The pad se eau had a ton of veggies which added a perfect crunch to every bit. Great service everything came out quick, fresh, and fast. There is not a month that goes by that I don't think about the papaya salad. It is tucked away in a large plaza, but parking can be hard to find during peak dinner hours. ALSO - they have a great lunch special that is so cheap and filling. I usually order the Pad Thai (has peanuts), Pad See Ew, Som Tum, and Tom Yum soup. And don't forget a side of rice! I have gone here several times over the years and the food always tastes good. No complaints on that. However, more recently, it feels that the quality of service has gone down. On the plus side, they are very quick and attentive, but I also think that is their downfall. Our orders are taken in a timely manner and the food comes out not too long after. My complaint is that they waste no time taking your plates out of the way and bringing the check for you to pay when you're not even finished eating. This happened in our last two visits, the most recent one being last night. It wasn't close to closing time and half the restaurant was empty, but it felt like they were trying to push us out. We paid for our food while we were still eating, and once my husband took the last bite of his food, the male server came by and asked "You're done right?", we said yes, and the server promptly took away our plates and told us to have a good night. I know nothing rude was said, but it felt like they wanted us out asap. I don't remember this kind of service from a couple years ago, but since this has happened twice now (back-to-back), I'm not sure we'll be coming back to dine in. This is the second Thai Restaurant I've tried after moving to Orange County (Thai Famous was the first) and can say this became my absolute favorite spot. Restaurant has a good amount of tables that can seat from small to large parties. They offer booth and regular tables. It is also kept clean and neat. I've dined here for both lunch and dinner. I prefer to eat here during lunch because it isn't as packed as it is during dinner, servers are more attentive and welcoming, and the best part? Their LUNCH SPECIAL. It's about TEN FREAKIN' DOLLARS. Like why wouldn't you want to eat here especially with that price?! The lunch special includes your choice of selected entrees, small bowl of rice, fried chips with sweet sour sauce, and salad. I personally like to order either yellow curry (medium spice level) or gai kua with fried tofu from their selected lunch entrees. Since I'm a frequent guest who loves Thai food, I tend to order different items on the menu to see how well the chef cooks each item. Some days could be a hit or miss, but I'll still order regardless. Here are items I've tried so far: - Egg Rolls A classic you can't go wrong with. - Papaya Salad So refreshing until the spice hits you AHAHA. Papaya Salad is like a staple to me. - Tom Yum Soup Always and I mean ALWAYS a hit or miss with the tom yum. It's either perfectly sour with full of flavor or bland. - Tom Kha Soup Hit or miss as well. Sort of wish it was a little more of a sweet milky coconut taste. - Yellow Curry My #1 go-to order. Specifically, yellow curry with medium spice, fried tofu, and white rice. - Manila Clam with Basil Leaves I like to order this as an appetizer and eat it without rice. So freaking good because of the sauce that blankets the clam. A little sad when some shells don't have meat hidden inside ahaha. - Mussel with Basil Leaves (same as manila clam) - Thai Boat Noodle Comfort food and a hangover cure. This reminds me of pho, but bolder and spicier with a pronounced herbal essence. - Pad See Ew This is the 2nd runner up for my go-to order. This stir fried noodle has the perfect combination of savory, sweet, and umami flavor. Love to order this with fried tofu. - Pad Thai A classic. Never had a bad experience ordering this. The noodle is well cooked and just bursting with flavor. So good spicy and with fried tofu. - Kee Mao Not a fan. - Gai Kua If i'm not in the mood for Yellow Curry or Pad See Ew, this is my 3rd best option. This dish is seasoned with a combination of soy sauce, oyster sauce, and fish sauce, which impart a savory umami taste with a hint of sweetness. The garlic adds a fragrant and pungent flavor. Gai Kua noodles offer a satisfying and well-rounded taste that is both comforting and flavorful. - Rad Na I've gone to many other Thai Restaurants even outside of Orange County and for some reason this Rad Na stood out the most. And not in a good way. This was DRENCHED in gravy and overly seasoned with pepper powder. Taste just wasn't there either. - Pineapple Fried Rice The sweetness of the pineapple compliments this savory rice dish. So good. My youngest sister loves this. Highly recommend when ordering for the kids (and adults of course lol). - Crab Fried Rice SO DELICIOUS. Please order for yourself and add chili vinegar. You won't regret it! Still have to try the rest of the menu! Shoutout to the team for being so kind and remembering our main orders. Even if I switch it up. I particularly liked their green curry, pineapple fried rice, and steamed fresh sole fillet. Their papaya salad and glass noodle salad were fresh and had a bit of a kick to them. Their egg rolls and stir fried vegetables were only average in taste. We finished the meal with their mango sticky rice. Service was good. For the price, I wish the serving size was a bit more, but can't complain too much because the flavor and quality of the food was good.
