Today, I last minute revisited Jun Yi for my thigh pain and she had an opening for me. I was suffering severe muscle tightness that I wasn't able to walk after getting up from my chair. My muscle tightness was the result of walking the weekend under hot weather and sitting long hours working and watching from a chair. I haven't been exercising for awhile because I'm exhausted from work. Off to the acupuncture clinic to fix my thighs and legs. First step, I get an acupressure massage to relieve some of the tightness before the cupping. Once the cupping was done, then the needles came. Needles are fine and they don't hurt. Just a prick. At the end of the session, I saw how dark the cupping circles were. My acupuncturist was surprised how bad of a shape I was in. I feel some relief that I'm able to get up from my chair without limping like before. Upon leaving, you're given herbal tea to help rid the toxin in your body. If you work long hours in front of a computer for a long time, your body will be in pain. Cupping and acupuncture helped me on my recoveries as I sit for long hours in front of a computer. I had gout on my right ankle/foot. My wife advised me to get acupuncture because Western doctors could not help with the pain I was going through. I got my first acupuncture, which was not bad at all. However, she decided to give me a blood cupping to remove the uric acid buildup that had been collected on my ankle. I didn't know about it until she said this would hurt a little, and suddenly, she picked the skin where the gout was. I was shocked and covered my mouth from screaming. She placed the cup over the gout, and it was so painful, but I also felt a little relief. The pain was less painful, and my gout symptoms were much more bearable. I have had my left knee replaced and am in need of a right knee replacement. I have paralyzing back pain, which prevents me from taking long walks. I was a little resistant but referred to Jun Yi Acupuncture by my sister, who has been using alternate methods for a while. I am 65, she is 70, and runs circles around me. I had my first appointment yesterday. I had the massage, acupuncture, and cupping. I know I cringed just hearing because of things I saw on TikTok, but I'm to the point where I can hardly walk 50 yards without pain. I'm not going to say it wasn't painful, but I have never had a massage, acupuncture, or cupping. The massage: hmm, I must have had little knots all through my back, but my lower back must have been a 5 X 5 knot on each side, and it took him a long time to break it up and relax the muscle. Acupuncture was less painful and a nice break before the dreaded cupping. First was a cupping vacuum, not bad, then... the real cups: ouch! Last night, my back looked like I was sucked by that creature from the original Star Trek that sucked all the salt out of the crew. Today, I feel the best I have in years. Vicky is the best! I have gone to her for issues for years. She has helped me with back pain, stiff shoulder to the point I could not lift my arm up, tmj (lock jaw), stiff neck, and my latest was pulled muscle in my leg. 9/3/2019 Vicky is so experienced and great at acupuncture! She saved my eye! My left eye got inflated two weeks ago, it's red and swollen on upper middle of my left eye. I can't open my left eye when it grew bigger. I went to see two doctors and they just gave me anti-biotic eye drop and let me have rest for 2-3 weeks. I went to Vicky for acupuncture to heal my disorder of period last Wednesday afternoon, when she saw my eye, she said she can also do a acupuncture to heal my eye. Initially I was scared and nervous, but when she began to conduct the process, it was not painful as I thought. Vicky told me I should get better in 1-2 weeks, then you guess what! Magically my left eye recovered to normal from Saturday!(Only 3 days after the her acupuncture). I've always been a skeptical of Chinese medicine, but wow. I have been converted. This place is a real gem and I'm surprised it doesn't have more reviews. I would give this place 6 stars if I could. I know I'm raving so hard it sounds fake but Vicky is seriously that good. I'm writing this because she really deserves more exposure for the services she provides at the prices she does. My mom has been a patient here for a long time and has been trying to get all her family and friends to try this place. My mom has horrible chronic pain from serious back injuries and Vicky has helped her so much. I, on the other hand, just suffer from the normal back pain everyone does nowadays. I get massages very regularly but have never tried acupuncture and never planned to. I was asked to fill out a very detailed form regarding my health and concerns. Most places that have you do this don't even look over it again but Vicky did. She gave me the BEST MASSAGE I'VE EVER HAD (and I've had a lot). I had told her from the beginning that I didn't want to do acupuncture (I really didn't believe in it). But her massage was so good and made me trust that she knew what she was doing that I told her I would try it. It didn't hurt at all (just tingly but that assured me that it was actually doing something). She offered to do cupping on me too but I didn't want the bruises during my trip so I decided to do that on my next appointment (yeah, I made another appointment to see her again before I leave even though I normally wouldn't get a massage so soon after). Vicky also opened early just to fit our schedule. Her office is small but that allows her to really focus on you. She is licensed to do everything she does and it's great to get all treatments by the same person because it's customized to your needs each visit. I will be visiting home more often just for her and will be looking for a place like hers in San Diego as well.
