I'm not a big boudin person but I changed my mind when I tried the smoked boudin here! The taste and flavors really had me hooked! I've been coming down to Louisiana, and tooling back highways for the best boudin, once a year for many, many years. Along the interstates you can find places that have upped their game really well, and sell nice product. But more out of the way you also find places that have really distinctive product - - things really individual. Juneau's is the best of all worlds. It is a beautiful, clean, well-designed, tasteful place with first-rate product; not only first-rate boudin & cracklin's and other deliciousness, but beautifully displayed, nicely packaged, wonderfully provided by wonderful people - - and also innovative. They have a no-carb boudin made with cauliflower instead of rice. They gave me a taste and it has an intriguing, distinctive flavor - - and what a great innovation. As whole links go, I got the regular boudin, the crawfish, and the smoked. The regular had some really nice character - - toothy rice, gentle but growing spice heat, and a pleasant, balanced, all-round flavor. The crawfish boudin also had toothy rice, solid heat, and enough crawfish to keep you digging in. But what I went back for to take home to Wisconsin was the smoked boudin. This was powerful smoke - - dark, intense, very woody - - with full heat - - earthy rich. Man is this knockout smoked boudin. What a great experience. The people are great. The store is so inviting and enjoyable. And the product is really top of the line. A real find. A really great experience. Worth a journey from ANYwhere. read more

We took a family trip to the area and were looking for good homemade Cajun food. We bought fresh boudin and cracklin & really liked it. We also picked up cabbage and sausage, Tasso, and deer sausage from the freezer section and took it home with us. Unfortunately using anything from their freezer section has made all of the meals we have cooked with it inedible and has cost us a lot of money in groceries and left us with a house filled with a smoke smell. A whole pot of homemade pastalaya... ruined because the Tasso tasted like it was drug across a burnt log. read more

The aroma here of cajun spices and hot boudin is intoxicating. Their boudin balls are my favorite here. They also have boudin balls stuffed with jalapeño cheese. Their cracklings are seasoned well and cooked to perfection- little bits of pork goodness sandwiched between crispy layers of fat. Get a paper bag of a half pound and they will be gone before you get home. Their frozen chickens stuffed with crawfish, boudin or pork sausage are easy to cook at home and a favorite. Their cooler here is full of freshly cut pork and sausages. Haven't tried them all yet, but have not been disappointed here yet. read more

Heard from a buddy how good the Cracklins at Juneau's - he did not tell me their Smoked Boudin is the best. Heavy smoke, crispy skin & moist Boudin filling. Lots of meat in this Boudin & the rice aint mushy. Well seasoned. Have eaten their regular Boudin which is also excellent. Crackling are crunchy lots of meat on the cracklins & are not fried hard like rocks - they know how to do Cracklins. Seasoned but not overly spiced. I am so impressed that I also purchased a crab/shrimp stuffed pork loin wrapped in bacon & seasoned - will smoke it tomorrow. The store is exceptionally clean, the service is very friendly Truly I have eaten at the top Boudin places in Louisiana as in all of them. This is now my & my wife's favorite. read more

OMG... Hands down THE BEST cracklins you can get anywhere. Hot and fresh and perfectly seasoned. This is the first stop I make when I come home to visit. The boudin is one of the best around too. I usually get 25-35 pounds to bring home to last me until my next trip. (Once I bought 75 pounds of smoked boudin to bring home lol).
