This was our second time going to June's since it opened here and both experiences were consistent. I'm a big fan of restaurants with open kitchens, so I was excited right from the start. Unfortunately, upon entering the restaurant it took a bit longer than you'd expect for someone to notice or acknowledge us waiting. Once we were seated, it took an additional 20 minutes for someone to finally ask us if we wanted drinks or were ready to order. After that, it took more than 30 minutes to actually get our food. During all of this, no one checked on us, no one refilled waters, or paid us any mind at all. It does seem the staff does treat its regulars well as they are often seen spending a lot of time chatting with clientele. However, this does seem to be at the detriment of the other customers who seem to go overlooked. Nearly an hour after arrival we got our food and it saved the day for this review. The food here is consistently fantastic. However, just because of how long service was taking, we only got entrees and didn't want to risk spending even longer on appetizers and desserts. So, for my meal, I got the crab stuffed salmon. The flavor was excellent though the salmon itself was ever-so-slightly overdone. It sat atop a large bed of (almost too much) risotto. The crab flavor complimented and paired very nicely with the salmon. The restaurant does charge 3.5% for credit card transactions which seems high (especially since NJ state law prohibits businesses from charging more the credit card companies charge them). This is a difficult rating to give, because the service is so lackluster that I normally would give a much lower score, but the quality of the food definitely offsets it. I'd recommend it if you have a lot to talk about with the group you're eating with, and if you don't have any plans afterwards. read more

June's is a somewhat new-ish restaurant. Food was quite good, and the portion size is definitely enough to fill you up while being able to take home leftovers. My only issue were the wait times. After being seated, it took about 25 minutes to have our order taken, then at least another 30 to get our food. No one refilled our waters. After finishing our meals and asking for the check it took maybe 15 or so to get the bill, another 15 for the guy to take the bill, and another 15 to get our change (we paid cash bc they charge 3.5% for credit cards, which is more than the approximately ~2.6% on average that the restaurant would be charged from most credit card companies). Overall a good restaurant, but plan to spend most of your evening here due to the various wait times read more

My wife and I came here for my 50th. They started us off with bread with butter. Olive oil would've been nice. My wife had the Penne Broccoli Rabe entree while I had the Pappardelle special (sausage and three meatballs). Both were very good and way more than we could finish (half came home for dinner the next night). It's a very casual atmosphere. Several people were in t-shirts and jeans There's no formal hostess station so you may need to wait a few minutes for someone to seat you. The entire restaurant wound up singing happy birthday to me. Untrained and a clear language barrier. The owner interceded to help ensure the communication was accurate at times, but sadly the service does not match the food quality. Love June's!! The food is consistently fantastic. Her loaded mussels are an incredible starter (altho I've also ordered them over pasta as a meal!). We also love her meatballs and any burrata app is incredible. For dinner, my husband enjoys the baked raviolis with meatballs, I love her linguini with white clam sauce, her veal Raquel with the white wine sauce is amazing and I love her pork chop over broccoli rabe with hot cherry peppers. I could go on and on! The servers are always so pleasant and accommodating. And the space is just so welcoming. You feel like you're having dinner with friends. We made reservations which I highly recommend. Wait about 10 minutes which isn't that bad. We had the meatball appetizer which was extremely delicious. I had the chicken Parm with penne, pasta, and marinara sauce. The chicken Parm was very good, but it had a certain taste to it that I couldn't put my finger on it. Don't get me wrong. It was a very good chicken Parm, but it wasn't the best. Penne was excellent cooked to perfection and the marinara sauce was sweet and plumpy. My brother-in-law had the eggplant special and he loved it. The service was excellent, the waitress was extremely hospitable and very friendly. My sister had some things in common with her because we are locals. It was nice to feel like where at home, from the waitress. The restaurant is decorated extremely nicely, not to Gotti and not to understated. The open kitchen was nice so you could see them prep the food. June came over and introduced herself, which was very nice. Not everybody does that. It was busy on a Saturday night in June. Overall, a great experience we would definitely go back again. read more

I had a nice experience here on a weeknight. First, June is very boisterous and welcoming (slightly overwhelming). She is very interested in ensuring you have a good experience and is open to accommodating your needs and requests, which I greatly appreciate. The food was good and it is so important to note that the portions here are absolutely huge! My son ordered a salmon special with crabmeat. It was very good. June let us know that we could swap in any side for my son and I appreciated that. My husband tried the meatball trio and he liked them a lot. I got the pork chop special with broccoli rabe. The pork chop itself was gigantic and flavorful but it was a little well done/dry. We were in a hurry that night and so we didn't get a chance to try dessert but I'm sure I'll find my way back for that and to try some pasta dishes. Our waitress that night was very friendly and also very accommodating. The interior is very warm and cozy. I love that part of the kitchen is open and you can watch the cooks do the majority of their work while you wait for your food. read more

We have gone to June's on two other occasions with the same six people that we have in the past. This past experience was terrible we were seated and the waiter seemed like we were bothering him. He never brought us bread or butter nor any water. Then we had to wait a good 20 minutes before anyone came over to see what we needed for an appetizer and our meal, and then it took another 20 minutes for our meals to arrive. Our wifes had the pork chop dinner with broccoli rob, the broccoli Rob was way overcooked as worth the pork chops. All the guys said pasta dinners, which were OK. Nothing to brag about. What dinners were delivered the waiter seemed to ignore us because our water glasses are empty for a good 15 minutes before he even looked over at us as a matter of fact, one of the wives who had the pork chop dinner had not finished it and didn't even wanna take it home. The owner, who is usually very friendly and hospitable, seem to be very absent to the fact of what was going on. In the end, the waiter just drop the check on the chair and left it there. All six of us were very, very disappointed of how bad the service was compared to the last time we were there, and we all decided that it would be one of the last places we'd choose to go out to. read more

Tried June's Tutto Bene for the first time. I have to say it was a wonderful experience! The restaurant itself is intimate and thoroughly modern. The food is wonderful. Tasty, and huge portions. Do not skip the desserts!However, the main attraction is June herself. She is warm and welcoming. She visits each table, and chats with every guest. Her pride in her restaurant is infectious. She even insisted on hugging my girlfriend and her 88 year old mom when we left. We willput certainly be going back again....soon! read more

We tried twice to give it a shot as we heard such great things. I will say that the food is very good. Not the best Italian food in the area by any means, but it is quality food. What really annoyed us was we had reservations, walk in & June tells us she'll be right with us...Pours herself a glass of wine, eats, then proceeds to talk to tables for 10 minutes...My family and I are staring at empty, ready tables wondering what's this all about? Brand new with open kitchen and gracious hospitality. Food was well prepared with quality ingredients, and reasonably priced. BYOB makes it even better. Our group really enjoyed the shrimp scampi which was a more than ample portion of perfectly cooked shrimp over a deliciously sauced freshly made pappardelle. The veal Milanese was perfectly seasoned over fresh arugula salad. The chicken francaise was another winner. There were 4 of us who got together after the holidays at June's. Having read good reviews we wanted to try this restaurant. We started with June's loaded mussels appetizer and a breaded Artichoke appetizer which were outstanding. We were not rushed and our meals came at perfect timing to enjoy the appetizers, pause, then served our entry. They did not have Veal Chops that were on the menu which we were looking forward to, but what we ordered was fantastic. The Chef June's Ultimate Parmigiana was an amazing medley of different Parmesan meats, way too much to eat in one meal. We also had veal parmigiana, veal Milanese and a pasta special of the night. The veal is not pounded, so not tender, as expected. It was good, but would not recommend as their best. The sauces are amazing, staff is wonderful, and food is delicious. My wife and I went there for our anniversary dinner last Saturday. First the aroma reminded me of my friend's house in Brooklyn on Sunday dinners. Old style and friendly. I was advised many years ago that you should always try the meatballs first and if they taste great you know you're in a place you know the rest of the meal will be delicious. I had the chicken and shrimp with asparagus and my wife had the Pappardelle Bolognese. The sauce on both dishes were very tasty and not over powering. we started out with he beet salad and again very impressed. The atmosphere was lively and customers were friendly as well. That says a lot about a restaurant where everyone is enjoying themselves. The chefs are spot on and from my spot I could see they put passion into their meals. The owner was very pleasant and considering how busy she was still takes a minute to visit your table and enjoys all feedback. This is really a great place for a wonderful meal. Also helps that the owner is from Bensonhurst where I lived for a while when I came out of the army. LOL She knows Italian cuisine. read more

the restaurant is good. however, they advertise as gluten free. yet, all three times i've gone they have never had gluten free pasta. they also don't tell you when you place the order if they are out of gluten free pasta. they wait until the meal is almost ready to serve when you don't have a back up plan. very disappointing. read more
