I'm glad…read moreto say after Saturday's outing, coming second last and scoring a default 6 on most holes, I am now reformed: no more tantrums! Thanks to David A for organising this awesome UYE as part of the Festival of Firsts. We visited Jurassic Parrr on a cloudy/sunny Saturday to take on the challenge of 18 holes of dino-fun times. But first, we needed to conquer the cafe. There's lots of outdoor seating and comfy couches inside. We ordered at the counter after locating a menu - I went for a baked potato with ham and cheese. At a whopping £5.50 I was less than chuffed at the price but needs must - I would've definitely had a tantrum if I was required to mini golf on an empty stomach. The topping was great - more like gammon than ham, and lashings of cheese. The potato wasn't great though, a little dry. The outside of the potato was super crisp and yum, so I just scooped out most of the middle and ate the topping and skin. Onto the golf: it's £7.50 per adult and for that you get a putter, ball, and a score card. It's probably best to play in a group of 4 and so we split into two groups. There's some pretty cool holes along the way but it would be loads better if there was a bit of an upgrade and more novelty elements. All in all though, it was a pretty fun way to spend an hour or so, and I'd go back in the future.

We generally enjoy playing mini golf and a themed mini golf park makes it just that much more enjoyable. We really enjoyed that this particular golf course takes into account 3 of our senses. You get the visual from the environment, the giant dinosaurs (some of them moves), the cave, the water, etc. They have speakers with growls and nature type sounds, it even smells like fire. Plus, they have an app to take down scores and as lovers of new technologies, we really enjoyed having the option to go paperless. The only downfall, was the small amount of "unusual" holes. There was only 3 or 4 holes which were directly linked to the theme, the others were just the usual plain holes you find in most mini golf courses (and not overly challenging at that). we really enjoyed our round, but we wont be going out of our way to go back again.

We showed up on a Monday evening (was also a bank holiday) without having booked, and although the place was quite busy we had no trouble getting a 'flight time' and were on the trampolines about 10 mins after arrival. We took the subway and it's about a 5 minute walk from Kinning Park station, so very accessible and easy to find (if you just follow googlemaps...not sure we would've found it on our own haha) They make you sign a wee disclaimer form which is SO easy and conveniently done on a set of computers specially for that task. This is much quicker and simpler than writing all the info down! It costs a tenner for an hour's 'flight time,' but honestly I think that's enough! You can get a 2 hour pass but we were knackered after about 20 mins and had to take regular water and sit-down breaks. Make no mistake, this is sweaty, sweaty exercise! A couple of wee negatives bring it down to 4 stars- the lockers they have are pretty tiny, and I had my uni bag with me. I ended up having to just put my valuables there and leave my laptop and all my books in my bag on top of the lockers. Bit annoying! They went through a quick safety briefing which I tried to catch all of but the woman spoke pretty quickly, and used some terms which I didn't understand at first like 'gainers' (which is when you run into a flip I think? still not sure haha). Naturally the boyf was way too excited about getting on the trampolines and listened to none of the safety briefing, but they have wee referee people blowing whistles at you all the time if you break the rules. The selection of activities is quite extensive- there are normal trampolines, dodgeball, basketball, a HUGE foam pit with various platforms to jump off from, and punching bags which are incredibly high up, but if you can jump high enough you can climb onto them! The crowd that night was a mixture of kids and the odd unlucky parent who looked like they were having the worst time ever, a group of 'lads', some real professionals who were flipping and bouncing all over the place, and us! This place really made me think about how many inhibitions adults have! There I was watching little kids do running backflips into the foam pit, and I had to really, really psych myself up about doing a frontflip! Finally did it, as did boyf, and we were all proud of ourselves for having done a literal fraction of what these 3ft tall energizer bunnies were achieving. Both of us ended up with sore backs, and both of us had done it the same way- by stiffening up on one of our first landings and feeling a jolt all the way up our backs. So if there's one good bit of advice I can give- it's loosen up and try not to let your grownup 'but this is dangerous' voice take over! The more relaxed you are the less you're likely to get injured. Would love to come here with a big group of pals, and will definitely be back!

Well that was fun…read more Absolutely done my back in almost immediately, so didn't give it my all. All the more reason to go back. They have trampolines. Lots of them. More importantly, they have dodgeball! The super friendly staff even acted as refs. There's also a few basketball hoops (don't forget this all involves bouncing) and a foam pit with different ramps to jump from. All of this adds up to mega fun for kids and there's a lot of special events marketed for the young and fearless. But, that shouldn't put off adults, with or without kids. There's an obvious exercise angle to all of this, but at a tenner a go I suspect it will appeal to most people as 'a fun thing to do'. Some proper changing areas and more food options would be a treat, especially given the exercise aspect. There's only vending machines with the usual at the moment. Hard work, but fun. Give it a try.

In my local play area I can sit and have a cuppa and not worry about him, here I felt a need to have him chipped or tagged so I could find him in the wilderness. Lots to do, for kids of all ages. Cafe part was only used for drinks and a tray bake but it was reasonably priced and tasty. Baby changing area was decent enough too. Great for a wet afternoon, but when it's busy you need a lead for your kid

There seem to be load of soft play places around Glasgow these days, but variety is always good…read more With it being kids' birthday party season this is the third one I've been to in as many weeks, I think. First off, it's huge - an old industrial unit. The ceiling may as well be the sky. Space is very well used with a couple of activities I've not seen in other play places - such as the stretched fabric space tent climbing activity. You have to see it to understand! The soft play area is a large U-shape surrounding an event area and small go-kart track, with one section set aside for the much smaller / toddler age range. Wall paintings are *staggering* and enormous. The decor goes all around the building, including the toilets (which are kept fairly clean - and it's good to see two baby-change units in the gent's loo). Party staff were great, very engaging and listened to the birthday boy's wishes and his cake was wheeled out by Woody from toy Story! Other staff were friendly and wandering around keeping an eye on things in general. Food prices are the usual escalated range you expect from these places - an adult burger with chips is around £7 and a kid's meal with a drink £4.25. Overall, impressed. If you're sitting in a seat waiting while the young ones work up a sweat, take a jumper. Especially first thing on a cold morning, it can get a little chilly.

Banners along the streets marked that the critter skeleton was in town and observable at Kelvin Hall from 18 April 2019 through 31 July 2019. I was a little confused as the exhibit hall looked to be part of an indoor sports arena. It was a wee bit of culture shock for me, and I was like - am I in the right place. Sure enough, a worker at the front desk pointed me towards the exhibit. The T-rex was pretty neat and had a lit-up informational display approach. Is it glow in the dark ink or an electronic display, or just really bright ink... Walking around in the exhibit was easy as the floorpan was well designed for human bipedal locomotion. A gift shop by the exhibit hall exit provided physical offerings to remember one's experience(s) by.

I was all set to give Kelvinhall three stars - partly for being such a beautiful historic building…read more(from the outside), and partly for the nice staff who work there. That was until last night, when I discovered that the water in the taps in all the changing rooms is apparently not fit for human consumption. W-w-w-w-hat?! In a sports hall? Where there is no access to water that is ok for drinking (apart from in the gym). I visit Kelvinhall twice a week and have been drinking the tap water for around a year ... I was horrified. You'd think they'd put up a sign at least? Apart from that, Kelvinhall is closing for refurbishment sometime this year so don't expect anything flash at the moment. Here's hoping they do something nice with it for it's reopening (and sort out the water!)

The instructors give you a safety…read morepresentation, video etc and go over the rules of the track as well as all the flags meanings etc. Then its time for kitting out in all the equipment you need for the race. Next up is the Karts, the instructors give you a short lesson on the controls and then its time to get on the track. Practice laps, then you move on to either GP or different race formats. These can be chosen on the website or over the phone. All in all we had an excellent day out, its great fun and the Karts are super fast, feels like a real racing car! but in miniature!

Kelvingrove Park in Glasgow has paved paths through large grassy areas and sculptures spattered…read morethroughout the park. I liked one lioness/panther sculpture in particular that had been presented by a John S. Kennedy, not sure what the S stands for. The paths could be confusing on first attempt, though I found I could consult my phone to help me find which path to take. A number of critters were out in the greenery the few times I walked through in July 2019. The hotel where I was staying had a small parking lot that was first-come first-serve, so I did most of my exploring on foot. Kelvingrove Park was one option if I wanted to take in the nature of Glasgow and did not want to walk along the street.

I ended up here on a vacation when I needed an easy place to get to from downtown Glasgow; yet…read morewanted to feel like I "got away from the city". There is SO much here: wooded trails, skatepark, a playground, bandstand, monuments, duck pond, tennis courts, and the art museum. I spent 2 hours wandering around and covered 4 miles (with stops) and didn't quite see all of it.

I really do spend a lot of time in soft play centres these days! The joys of having small children…read morein a regularly rainy climate! This is a nice sized soft play, not too big, but with enough to entertain the little ones, and seating and refreshments for the adults whilst they look over the little ones climbing, clambering, and sliding! There is a separate area aimed at the under 3s which is great if your little one is not quite ready for the bigger equipment. It is also reasonably priced at £3.50 for ages 1-4, and £4.50 for the over 4s. There are a few areas in which this centre could improve, however... Firstly the car park is filled with pot holes, not great for those with prams, and big risk of wet toes for puddle-loving toddlers in inappropriate footwear! The lunch menu is fairly standard with a good enough variety for parents and tots. My gripe with the cafe section is the lack of healthier snacks for the little ones. No fruit, yoghurt, or even little fruit pouches available. So if you turn up without a snack for your little one, it is not possible to avoid sweets or chocolate. I am not against giving my toddler treats, but I really would expect a business aimed at little ones to supply a healthier option. Overall a decent soft play, and there is a great second hand shop / boutique (Babes In The Wood) where you can pick up a bargain for the little ones on the site also.

Bought a group booking for 10. Feel totally ripped off and disappointed in what was expected to…read morebe a great day out with family. As has already been said from as far back as 2015 ( so no hope of anything changing) the queues are just horrendous . Pre paid online for the tickets and still had to wait in a massive queue to obtain the vouchers for the rides. Noticed a staff member standing at the side who was actually scanning codes and giving out the vouchers. No formal line directing you toward him , just standing at side trying to get the queue down a bit with people approaching him and asking if he was giving out vouchers. While I expect to queue for the main /popular rides , this was on another level. After a full hour queuing for the Waltzer it was draining to realise nearly every ride was the same. The kids rides weren't much better. It was so crowded it was overwhelming and hot . We ended up frittering vouchers away on the stalls with no hope of winning anything just to use them up. We gave the remaining ones away . All food and drink was overpriced. £4-£5 for a single cone, £7.80 for x 3 kids Fruitshoots for example. This carnival has been running for years and it's hard to believe that a better operating system hasn't been introduced. It has everything there to make it fun and enjoyable and on a quieter day it probably is. Today it just felt as if the objective was more on getting as many bodies through the door as possible . Edit; I live within 20 miles not in Ca as the address weirdly shows ? I wish I did live there.

LOCAL!! Him Indoors…read moreand I went for a wee swim this afternoon and it was VERY pleasant!! I'm glad the pool is open and functional again (there was a period where the pool was closed for maintenance-seemed like it was closed FOREVER!!!) The leisure centre is clean and all the staff is friendly...they never complain when ones asks for floaties when in the pool!! ;-) There are loads of classes offered here too, as well as the pool...I'd recommend getting the unlimited monthly plan if you're gonna be going to classes etc too, it'll be the cheapest way!! And that way you won't have to pay the EXTRA (!!!!) for the steam room and sauna..!! The only reason this is not a full five stars is because the spa hasn't been open the last few times I've been (apparently they're waiting for a part...) and that they close at four at weekends!!

I love the CXWORX & Body Balance class & i have just tried Body Pump a bit hard but will try again !
