I booked online and the truck and 2 movers showed up in the appointed timeframe. They were really nice and polite and treated my home respectfully in terms of caring about scuffing walls and floors. I had them remove 3 appliances and a flat screen TV. The price was reasonable for the work. A large freezer had to be destroyed since the previous owner had remodeled with it in the basement and it could no longer fit up the stairs. The guys were great problem solvers. I was going to give these folks 4 stars because there was a bit of a hiccup about the time schedule. But they did stick to their 2 hour time window and were efficient at their clean up. They emptied a storage unit for me and swept it out when empty. I can't say enough good things about Lupe in the office. I needed to clean my one acre property in Golden Valley before I sold it. I contact three companies, and considered doing it myself, by having Waste Management (WM) drop off a large trash container. Then I read about Junk King, I was pleasantly surprised to find Reno has a local Junk King. Yelps reviewers gave it high praise, so I gave them a call. I must say, from the first contact with the representative taking my request for a bid to the final item being removed from my property, I was amazed. They performed beyond my expectations. Originally, I toured the property with them, they gave me a bid and they stuck to it. The cost was not that much more than having WM drop off a container and making me do all the work. The three-man crew was courteous, professional, efficient and hard-working. They worked six hard hours in the heat of a summer day in Reno and preformed flawlessly. They were careful with removing items from the house and yard: they even swept up after themselves. The truck they used was brand-spankin' new and they all wore company t-shirts. Even the neighbors were impressed. I had on-hand sodas and a dozen bottles of cold water; I know it was greatly appreciated by the workers. Not only were they great in their performance of cleaning my lot, they recycle a huge percentage (up to 60%) of the material they haul away; it does not go directly into a land fill. This idea alone is worthy of great praise in a day where more and more people are concerned where their trash ends up. Our third garage space was getting overly cluttered with broken t.v.s and random junk. We found Junk King via Yelp and called them on a Saturday and made an apt. For them to pick up our junk on that Monday. Shane and Craig came out from Junk King and hauled our junk away as planned. They were running late for our appt. but gave me a call to let me know and then gave another call to let me know when they were on their way. They were fast, courteous and even swept up afterwards when they got a little dirt on the road from their truck. For hauling junk away, it was a little pricey, they charge based on the amount of the load, but it helped that they offered a deal via Yelp. If we ever need junk hauled away again, we will definitely use their service again. read more

My wife and I just had Junk King out to our house to pick up an old recliner and futon we no longer needed. We received a quote from Junk King on some specific items to be picked up, it was $155. for 3 BIG items including an old motorcycle. When Donovan (the boss he said) and a coworker showed up, they loaded the truck with 2 items that were quoted but because of no title on the motorcycle was available, so they rescheduled that pick up for October 31 2020. We advised them that we must be out by 12:00am on the 31st so it was extremely important to get that motorcycle gone. While at the house my 80 year old mother was supervising them and they were asking her what else can we take for ya. Because they didn't take the motorcycle ( which was in the work order) we added 3 large trash bags and some odds and ends. To the SHOCK and dismay I discover that the total is now $450. WITHOUT THE MOTORCYCLE! WTF? While on the phone with my mom in front of the 2 guys we ask why is it so much? They said they go by volume etc. remember the junk is already on the truck and at no time did they indicate that would be extra or that's extra. Freaking out at the cost, Donovan said he can lower it to $399. Desperate, we had to pay it. Donovan said he called the boss and will come back tomorrow to grab the motorcycle with its title. Then we ask if he knew of anyone that wanted it for free. He said his cousin might. He gave us his cell number, and he said he would call us to let us know what time junk king would be there if the cousin didn't want it. Donovan is a liar! He NEVER called to inform us. I called him, he said he would text his cousin, I asked him what time would junk king will be there on the 31st? He said he was working that day and and would call me and let me know what time we were on the schedule. Yup you guessed it, no call! I tried to call him, text him, he wouldn't respond. I'm guessing his girlfriend saw the missed call because she called me to ask who I was. I told her, she said hold on, went to Donovan, and the phone hung up. He never called me back after that. Well, lucky me I had a plan B. 1-800- GOT-JUNK. I told them my encounter with Junk King and they were there, FREE of charge to me! They couldn't believe how much I had to pay and no motorcycle was taken. Thank you 1-800- GOT-JUNK for really coming through in the 11th hour. read more

I recently filled out an online schedule for pick up of my Hot tub on Sat 1/27On Tue 1/30 Brian(the CEO) came out and gave me a quote. He rescheduled for Tue 2/6 at 12pm because Brian stated that he didn't have the crew to pick up the junk until 2/6. I waited an entire week and received a call from one of Brian's associates on 2/6 at almost 12pm stating they didn't have the tools now to do the junk removal. They asked to reschedule again! No! That is absolutely unacceptable. If I could give this company a flat out Zero I would!! Don't waste your time. Just do the removal through some other company. Horrible call center. I called to have a refrigerator removed from the third story and explained to the call center to make sure they bring 3-4 guys to lift it, because it's very heavy and difficult. Of course, they show up with only two people. After I stressed 6 times to send 3-4 people. They were not able to remove it. And was told they would not make another trip with more people. We used Junk King a year ago and had an excellent experience. This time, I was told by email confirmation that they would arrive between 9am & 11am and would call 15 minutes before. This was set up because this office doesn't open until 9am. I was teaching a class in a different building when they walked in to my class at 8am. They hadn't called ahead of time and I couldn't leave my class to talk to them. They promised they'd come back. They didn't. 4 1/2 hours later I got a call for a price quote which they'd refused to give me before. The quote was for 3 times what I paid last summer. I know we didn't need 2.5 trucks for what we had based on what we had last year and how much space it took. The quote for 1 truck was double what we paid last year. Great experience with Junk King. They came to take a kayak an old hot tub enclosure left by previous owners and a "table" which was actually a metal door screwed to a filing cabinet. All things that individually would have been a major pain to haul! They had it loaded in about 15 minutes and it was less than $300 bucks. WAY worth it, even if I had a vehicle capable of hauling.
