Visiting the Chicago area from Southern California, where rollerskating rings are a few and far between, we found sweet little rollerskating rink across the swamp (?) from our airbnb. I had so much fun. It was a true throwback 30+ years to my childhood. It was fun to get out on the rink and skate like I was eight years old again. The staff were super friendly. We went once on Saturday night and learned that they had a Sunday afternoon special for families, four people for $35 including skates, so we came back again the following day. Amazing time. We just had our daughters bot mitzvah there not only were Lisa helpful, they were, I can't say it enough.AMAZING. Lisa took on the task of decorating. Shark themed. This was about a 45 minute drive from home, down some side streets at the end of a run-down strip mall. I guess roller rinks are really dying. Plenty of parking though at this place. Just For Fun Roller Rink is for sure a fun time! I really enjoyed coming here to roller skate (or attempt to), the rink for skating is a pretty decent size. Some Wednesdays they have discount pricing - it was $6 to skate, and $4 for rental of skates. All of the employees I encountered were very friendly, there is some quick service food/candy items and a mini arcade inside as well. The whole place looks like it's straight out of the 80's (which is a good and bad thing I guess), it could definitely use some remodeling inside. But other than that, it's a really fun time if you're into roller skating. read more

Just For Fun Roller Rink is a very nice family skating facility. I went there one day just to check it out. The woman working there was very nice and let me take a look inside. The décor is very colorful and festive. The light system was vibrant and dancing with the music. On another day I went skating by myself. I felt comfortable because everyone was having a good time skating or enjoying a birthday party. It didn't matter if you were there on your own or with a group. The DJ played all types of music. Beginner skaters are told to stay in the middle of the rink and more experienced skaters use the outer part of the rink. I had a good time. I hope more adults come there to skate. read more

This is one of those places that is what it is - an old fashioned roller skating rink in a converted warehouse. You can skate or blade, rent or bring your own, there is a small arcade, concessions . Staff is friendly and helps if kids fall, makes sure things stay safe. DJ has good skating music and holds contests, different affects with the lighting, etc. The place isn't fancy, but for those who like to skate - it's a great place to spend an hour or two! read more

Loved how retro and quaint this place was. Great deals on weekdays, not too crowded, and just wholesome fun for kids away from a screen. There's a referee DJ who tries to mix it up while also checking kids are safe. Warning, the walls are lined with carpet. I don't understand why there's "a spectator fee". The bathrooms are incredibly small and only one sink to wash hands for both male and female restrooms. Also they provide toddler size skates but there's no changing table? They also have to call out for their pizza to be delivered which is strange, why sell something you don't even have in the building? read more

Fantastic gem of a place. Set up like the skating rinks of yesteryear. Family operated, charming and very easy to set up a birthday party. We had our sons 11th birthday with 12 of his friends. Many of the boys said it was the best birthday party they've been too. Ask for Lisa (party Planner) and tell her Parrish recommended you the place. Everyone in our group had Pizza, drinks, popcorn, glow sticks and even snow cones!! It's a great party package that everyone would enjoy. This is a very nice roller rink with an exceptional owner. Tobey has been very helpful anytime we have needed him. My only suggestion is for a slow hour where weaker skaters can skate without the fear of being run over by experienced better skaters. It would be nice to find a registered coach in the area to practice-and learn freestyle skating. read more

This is my all time favorite rink I've gone to after reading the bad reviews I wanted to show you why there examples are bad and untrue first off 1. The bathrooms are tiny. Yes this is true there is only 2 stalls but there is no reason for more stalls due to the lack of people going to the bathroom. People are skating and every time I go in nobody is going either. 2. Staff is unfriendly. I would have to disagree because their staff is always nice to us except the Dj because we always beg him to play songs but other then that they are nice if your nice with them. 3. Never having pizza. There are certain times when they have pizza but usually when it's busy they order pizza this pizza sells fast because people are constantly getting a whole box. I'm quite picky about my pizza I will have to admit not even liking dominoes and other popular pizza places but this pizza was delicious wherever they order it from Anyways I love this place and always have fun especially in the races because you can win drink passes!! read more

We had our daughters birthday party here today. After almost 2 hours of the kids skating I went to ask when the pizzas would be out. Kids were tired and hungry. They said they didn't have pizza there and the delivery driver was In a wreck. With only 1 hour left to the party we decided to just do the cake then suddenly papa Johns pizza arrived... also $5 fee to rent the "skate mates" when you're already paying a lot of money for this place is ridiculous. Also charging $5 spectator fee for parents is stupid- especially when all the kids are minors and need to have an adult with them. The icing on the cake was us being told that the kids with the skate mates needs to stay in the little rectangle, the birthday girl was not happy! Would definitely not book another party here, would go the extra distance to crystal lake. read more

Fun place but they NEVER have pizza even though they advertise it on their board. I have been there 2 times and both times they ran out. Today I went to the counter to order pizza and the lady said it will arrive in 20min. So I waited and when I saw the pizza arrive I went back to the counter to order a slice, she said sorry we're all sold out. Really! She said it sold out before it even came it the door. So I asked if it was sold out when I had come up before. She said yes. So why did t she tell me then?! That tells you how smart that cookie was. Ugh. Horrible customer service. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. The owner failed to inform us that for a party you needed 30 people. Then continued to charge us $420. The food was absolutely horrendous I felt like I would get salmonella from the uncooked pretzels and chemical tasting jalapeños. The bathroom doors don't have locks. HAVE YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY HERE! We just had my two little ones birthday party here today and I can't rave about this establishment and the workers enough. From calling to book the party to the actual day of the party they were so flexible and accommodating. We arranged everything directly with the owner and she is an angel. So easy to work with and such a pleasant human being to communicate with. Not to mention that their party bundles are great and pricing is way easier to digest than other party options. Came here on a Saturday night with my kids (7 and 9). Was told that even though I and my girlfriend aren't skating we still had to pay to get in....kind of ridiculous as we literally were there to monitor the kids. Had daughters birthday party. Overall fun experience but was disappointed they charge $8 per adult for basically nothing. Why charge for someone who is basically just chaperoning their kid to an event ?? I booked a field trip for our summer camp. The kids had a fantastic time! Pricing was very reasonable. I spoke over the phone several times to coordinate and they were very accessible at various hours even when the rink wasn't open at that time of day. The person I spoke with was very polite and helpful. The only thing I wish was different is an email address. I can't say enough good things about this place! Lisa and Toby were amazing. They both bent over backward to make our Girl Scout outing a blast. The place is just like I remember roller rinks from when I was a kid, but it's not just nostalgia - our girls loved it, too. It's a little hidden, but a fun little place to go to. We ended up having an emergency while we werehere and the people were very helpful. Very responsive attentive to my friend fell. They helped her to a chair, and she even passed out while they kept an eye on her. They were there 100% after the fall!!! I even lost a pretty expensive pair of earbuds, but they found them and kept them for weeks after the fact. Nice team, totally went above and beyond when we were there! Thank you everyone! Great Place!!! Brings back memories. Nice big skating big skating area. Small arcade. Lockers. Everything was very affordable. Popcorn, nachos and soda were very cheap.
