But you know what - it is a pretty good place to go looking for jeans, as they have a brilliant selection, and the staff are really helpful. In fact this is where one of the staff members managed to convince me, a short stubby kind of guy, to go the tight jeans. He told me I should go a size up and a few cuts in (by that I mean tighter), and then watched me as I painstakingly tried on about 100 pairs of jeans and fussed over each one like I was a bride to be. The service was truly amazing. And I walked out of there looking far more Ryan Gosling than Avril Levigne (or at least that skaterboy she sings about). The prices are about average and there are a lot of average looking clothes scattered throughout the shop in my view. But then again I prefer to say that there is probably a little something there for everyone.

It was funny, mine fit perfect first time (though they did need to take them up, which they did for free on the spot), but my gf was having trouble. Enter the Dejour guy. He made her go for the smaller size, insisting the denim would stretch and soften to her arse. He then told her how amazing they looked (which they did) and told her she looked like a teenager again (which she did). He just knew what she needed, and he forced her to let go of any size preconceptions and boldly try for some hot fitting jeans that she now loves so much, she's going back to buy more next weekend. And they're only $40! $40. Do it before you're dead.

It's another place definitely in the hidden gem category. I find jean shopping to be an absolute bitch. I don't consider myself to have an abnormal body shape but wherever I go I'll have to try on about ten pairs of jeans before I get one that fits. And even then I'm not sure if I like them. In Dejour however, I tried on three different pairs of jeans and every single pair fitted like a glove. At $40 each I was tempted to buy all three but ended up just plumping for two of the pairs. The Vietnamese guy who runs the store - who is a really easy-going and fun character - even shortened the legs slightly for me so they fit perfect. I've pointed friends in the direction of Dejour since and they say just how amazing the jeans fit too. The guy also has the latest fashions, cuts and colours in as he pretty much conducts market research on you as you get tailored. I challenge you to go here and not come back with at least one pair!

The reasons why I Iove this Canadian brand are many but here's a few: - The make their clothes out of fabrics they expect you to sweat in and chuck straight in the wash - The fabrics all feel really nice on the skin and don't chafe - They have some great colours, as well as the neutral blacks, whites etc - They have everything from tights to cool pants. My favourite item from Lulu Lemon is a pair of black pants that go to just below the knee. I can wear them to run in, or they are nice enough that I have worn them out so they are really versatile. They were perfect to wear to a work cricket match - I could run around in them but I could also go out to a cafe afterwards. Perfect! The outlet store is great as well! They stock full priced gear but they also do indeed have some bargains. I bought a jacket I had my eye on at the full priced store for nearly half the price. Sweet! My only concern is that my sister bought something from here and they forgot to take the security tag off, so she had to return it. So maybe check that before you leave. There is a bit of parking in the surrounding streets.

Carrying international names like Bernhard Willhelm and Rick Owens, and accessories labels AF Vandervorst and Company of Strangers, Nom*D is a heavy-hitter for the lover of edgy, left-of-centre fashion. For such an upmarket store, the staff are actually really nice and don't seem to mind that I'm often in there wandering around but have never bought anything. I'm sure it isn't just me who does it. They must get that a lot.
