I put my daughter in JLH when she was 2 months old and she's been there for almost 9 months now - we love it and Nina loves it! We originally had her booked at another well-known facility in the area but we pulled her out (losing our non-refunded down payment) because we felt the facility, staff and program was better. **The 1 star review could not be further from the truth**. I'm a new mom and both the staff and the Director have been super supportive & helpful with all my questions, and the Director specifically is probably one of the nicest women l've met and I'm confident you'll agree when you do a site visit (you'll see many more reviews on their Facebook page, so be sure to check those out). The director is unprofessional Racist and has no clue on how to run a daycare. Staff is not properly trained, understaffed, dirty, no real play area, teacher have no formal background in early childhood education. If you want your child to be looked after for eight hours at a reasonable rate send your child here, but if you want your child to learn, receive a well balanced meal taught by certified teacher, there are several highly accredited Preschool in the area. I had no choice but to put my daughter in daycare full time at 6 months. At first I was nervous but I truly couldn't think of a better place for her to be while I'm at work. She LOVES JLHD. There is nothing negative I can think to say about this place, other than the price but since it's comparable to most daycares, I think that just comes with the territory. The directors are both amazing and understanding. They've allowed me leeway with my tuition when I've been in a bad situation financially and they are crazy on top of all of the security and medical stuff for each child. Now, let's talk about my daughter's experience. Each morning when I drop her off she happily reaches for one of the room aids. When I pick her up at the end of the day the staff literally makes me feel like my daughter is the only child there. They remember how long her nap was, what she ate for lunch and how her day was in general. And that's off the top of their heads. I get pictures throughout the day and a daily report outlining what she did that day. I truly don't have a bad thing to say about it. I would recommend this place to anyone! I feel safer knowing my daughter is at daycare than when she is with my own mother in law. I know she is happy and gets to run around and play all day (she's now 13 months) which is far better than anything she could get anywhere else. Please ignore the negative review! There's nothing true about it! No, they do not have the funding that a chain might have to completely update the place, but it is clean, well-taken care of and ample play space! And the toys! So many toys geared towards enhancing motor skills and social skills. The baby rooms are not structured but as soon as you get to the 1 year room they do circle time, so many arts and crafts, special parties, outside time unless it's raining or too cold. They provide snacks, heat up breakfast and lunch (which I know a lot of day area do not) and give thorough reports about my child's day. When my daughter started acting out, they did not make me feel like she was bad. They are moving her to the next class up because they just think she's bored and would do better w more structure. Every single teacher is loving and kind. They make me feel like my child is their favorite, which I know is not true, just speaks to how great they are at getting to know and care for each child. I will be heartbroken when my DD has to leave here in 4 years! read more

I read the negative review on here after I had signed my daughter up and completely freaked out. Let me tell you, the Director is AMAZING and super attentive- NOT racist (my husband is a person of color and we have not had one hint of racism), they have a beautiful playground, it's extremely clean.... After 4 weeks here, let me tell you that the negative review could not be FARTHER from the truth! My daughter is in the one year old classroom and we cannot explain how happy we are with the care she receives. Whenever I have dropped by, the kids are actively engaged. If a little one is crying, they are in the teacher's arms and being consoled. My daughter suffers from severe separation anxiety. The teachers were wonderful when we first began drop off- of course she had the meltdown. After 3 weeks, we drop her off and she is SO excited to see her teachers and is ready to play. On the way out the door she blows kisses to her teachers- it is a loving and absolutely wonderful environment. I can't thank the staff enough for their absolutely wonderful care, attentiveness, and patience with all of my first time mommy worries and questions! We did SO MUCH research and visited SO MANY places- I am beyond confident that this is one of the VERY BEST daycares. We love JLHDC!!! read more

This daycare is absolutely amazing! My daughter has been going here for over 2 years now and I could not be happier. Her teachers are very educated and kind human beings. I truly feel like her teachers care for her like she is their own. My daughter has learned so many amazing milestones, because of this place. The director is one of the most warm, friendly and caring people I have ever met. The facility is extremely clean and very well organized. There is plenty of room for kids to run around in every class room, and more then enough toys to play with. My daughter absolutely loves going to school here and seeing her smile everyday and learn I know they are doing a great job. I wouldn't change a thing :) read more

My daughter has been at JLHD for about 9 months and absolutely loves it. When we moved to the area I was desperate to find a closer daycare and a neighbor recommended JLHD. My husband and I could not be happier with the choice. My daughter missed her old daycare but was greeted every morning with a comforting hug from her new teachers. After about a week there were no more tears and she was asking to see her new teachers and friends. My experience has been the complete opposite of the one star review. When initially speaking with the director I asked about diversity of the staff. She acknowledged that the staff wasn't diverse but that was something the center was aware of and hoping to change. Since then they have hired additional staff who are wonderful. I have only had positive experiences from the director. She's receptive to questions and quickly answers phone calls and emails.
