Lots of venues will charge you left and right for the use of their decorations or whatnot, but the Farm has a rule, that it the decoration was donated from a previous wedding, then you can use it at not charge! The Farm recommended our coordinator, Penny, who was fabulous! We couldn't have done it without her. Although she is a "day of" coordinator, she contacted us in the weeks before the wedding to make sure she had all the information as well as understanding EXACTLY what we wanted. I would highly recommend Penny. Jennifer was so, so great! She made our vision come to life with her decorating talents. She listened to exactly what we were looking for, and made the decorations happen. We had the most beautiful wedding thanks to her. We also used the Farm as our caterer. Victor, the cook, makes the most AMAZING pulled pork and bbq chicken and smoked Gouda mac n cheese. We are still getting compliments about the food. The venue itself is so unbelievably unique and beautiful. You absolutely cannot beat the location and the barn itself. You wont find anything like it. The bistro and bar they advertise has not been open since the pandemic. For breakfast you get a mini sausage and biscuit and a mini cup for coffee. Rooms do not have daily housekeeping. Worse yet, it is advertised as being in Bryson City, it is 8.3 miles away from the downtown area and activity. The doors to the lobby close at 6 PM. After that you are on your own.It also gives the feel of a motel, not a resort. Because we were so far away from the action, we ended up being in bed by 7 pm. There were too many winding roads to risk going to a bar or any other night life that far away. I do like something about this place. I could see it being a real neat resort. It is homey and has a nostalgic atmosphere. But during November it is bland. Maybe it's days gone by. Will I be back? Maybe in the summer. But it needs a better variety of breakfast food, a good restaurant and bar to survive.
