My favorite tennis shop of all time. Bought my 23'vcore 98 at an amazing price after demo-ing over 20 rackets from just tennis. Brian knows how to make a deal with such friendly customer service. I've gotten my rackets strung here at least 20 times now and it's always done well and quickly if I need it! It's always nice to stop by and chat awhile whenever I drop my rackets off. This shop also supports local san diego tennis quite a bit! At tennis fest - they probably gave away more rackets than any other sponsor! Came in to buy my first racket 3 years ago and wanted the Federer because I had been a long time fan. Obviously as a beginner this is a terrible idea, however the owner told me up front that I would be better off with a different racket. He ended up selling me a 100 dollar head where he could have charged 300 for me to buy the RF97. Hey yelpers, So I heard about this tennis shop from an old friend of mine who I used to play tennis with at my high school in Riverside. It's crazy, I randomly met up with him in San Diego, and he still plays tennis, and I thought maybe it would be my time to get back into the swing of things, (pun intended). I let him know that both my tennis racquets had no string, since I decided to chop it off because of a bad stringing job in the past. He advised me to hit up Just Tennis, located in the Scripps Ranch area to get my racquets into top playing shape so we can hit around later that week. Well I walked into the shop and the OWNER greeted me into the shop. He was very knowledgeable, respectful and very very nice. He asked what the purpose of the racquets being restrung will be for. I let him know that I'll probably just keep to rallying with friends on the weekends. He suggested the best options he had for my racquets and the intention of style of play. I asked if I could receive them the same day, and just needed to check with his staff if that were to be possible. For me, I just do not like driving all the way back up to this area to pick them up. I told him no rush as well. He aimed that the racquets will both be restrung in 2 hours. I looked at my watch and went on, read my book on one of the benches further up the path. I get a call almost right before the 2nd hour, and they said it was ready. I get back to the shop and low and behold, my racquets professionally restrung, felt great when I practiced with them later that night, and now I'm ready to take on any challenge. I recommend this shop highly if you aren't looking forward to meeting with a private over paid shop, or to shops where you get the feeling they are better than you. You don't deserve that. Head to Just Tennis and meet these nice people and they will hook you up! read more

These guys research and know their tennis rackets and strings. If you are looking for a new racket they will give you top notch advise on a couple of different rackets to demo for free and guide you to exactly what you need with your feedback. The other half of making the right choice is the strings and what tension to string the racket at. This is where the personal attention from a knowledgeable staff in a small tennis shop will really pay off. On the contrary, going to a big box sporting store just doesn't make sense where you can't demo rackets and don't know if the person in charge of many different sports in his depart really knows anything about tennis, much less the dozens of rackets they carry. Just tennis is close to the 15 in Scripps Ranch which makes it convenient if you are anywhere in the area. Clean, well organized, able to restring your rackets quickly; I highly recommend them! read more

My first experience at Just Tennis, Natalia helped me rent 3 rackets for free to try. I am an amateur who started taking tennis class at Miramar Junior College and wanted my own quality racket. I ended up purchasing an older model but top seller called the Head Si-5. Anyways, I also brought in a really old Prince racket that was sticky and nasty to see if it was worth saving. They reconditioned it by wiping it down with rubbing alcohol, put new leather grip, restrung it, and put new grommets on!..all for a reasonable price. I'm glad they're close by because I will continue doing business with them. read more

For the first time visiting the store it took me only 5 min before leaving the store and will never come back. First of all the store doesn't have the promotion item on hand that they advertise on their website in store which is a minor issue. The biggest problem that I have is the attitude of the guy working in the store. For a classy sport such as tennis he should never be allow to work in the business. When a customer ask a question about a product you cannot tell them that they should read the description on their website with an attitude, if that was the case I would just shop on Amazon and save my 5 min of headache. read more

The shop is very small. The first two times I went I was kind of greeted by this middle aged man who sits behind the counter that was not very nice. he just gave me a catalog and asked what I wanted. I hesitated to come back but had to get my racquet strung the following day so when i returned this younger kid that was the stringer helped me tremendously, he explained what each string difference was...the store was super busy with racquets to string so they gave me the option of paying an extra five bucks cash to jump the line, not a bad deal since i needed it pronto. i would go here just be wary of the old man... read more
