Over the course of my treatment, I experienced multiple instances where prescribed medications were…read morenot called into my pharmacy despite requests and assurances that they would be. On several occasions, this involved my prescribed SSRI medication. Because these prescriptions were not submitted in a timely manner, I experienced withdrawal symptoms that could have been avoided with appropriate medication management. Following a subarachnoid hemorrhage, I was prescribed an additional medication to help manage anxiety. This medication is a controlled substance, and the prescriptions were repeatedly sent to my pharmacy with incorrect or incomplete instructions. These errors occurred so frequently that my pharmacist expressed concern regarding the repeated prescribing mistakes. On at least one occasion, the pharmacist advised me that they modified or clarified the prescription instructions so that the medication could be dispensed appropriately. I found it deeply concerning that the pharmacy felt it necessary to intervene in order for me to receive a medication that had been prescribed by my provider. As these problems continued, I contacted the practice to express my concerns about the ongoing difficulty obtaining timely refills for this medication. Rather than addressing my concerns or working toward a resolution, I was subsequently discharged from the practice. I was informed that the reason for my dismissal was that I had stated I "couldn't wait to leave the practice." I do not believe this accurately reflected the purpose of my call. My intent was to raise legitimate concerns about repeated medication management issues that were affecting my health and recovery. Being dismissed from the practice after voicing those concerns left me without continuity of care during a particularly vulnerable period. These repeated issues caused unnecessary stress while I was recovering from a serious neurological event and relying on my healthcare providers to coordinate my care appropriately. Beyond the inconvenience, the delays, prescribing errors, and interruption in my care had the potential to compromise my health and safety.

With that in mind, I'll say I 'enjoyed' my visit to Ellis Emergent Care. I left feeling WAY better than I did when I got there - which is the point, right? The waiting room was calm, quiet, and not crowded. The staff was professional. I won't say 'overly friendly', but it's the ER people!!! They could have been on the tail end of three 12-hour shifts. They were, however, gentle, caring, respectful, and efficient. I was in for extreme dehydration during pregnancy and had to get an IV. The nurses and PA very much seemed to have the attitude of "Lets get you feeling better and get you home." They're obviously busy, but don't seem frantic. The receptionists remembered my name and had all the paperwork ready to go when we went to check out. I feel like all of these reasons in aggragate make it a 5-Star ER. You're not at the spa, but you're also not getting ebola or watching someone die on a stretcher. I'd call that a win. Since it is a smaller facility, they have a limited number of beds/rooms compared to other major hospitals. With that in mind, if there are more than 10 people in the waiting room, it could mean they are filled to capacity. We waited about an hour before I was admitted to a room on a Wednesday afternoon. I felt given the number of people I saw leave and get admitted before me, this was very reasonable. Pro Tip - this facility does NOT accept ambulances, and as a result, the hectic, chaotic atmospher that you experience in other places is noticable absent here. When I came back he stated, "you don't have pain issues or problem." If you reading this ask yourself this: I don't have pain issues but you did 17 injections billing my insurance company then therefore you should be investigated for insurance fraud!!! I was there three times a week four hours each time for two months. Looking back that is absolutely crazy!!! Lastly you have front desk women and another man acting as nurses who aren't registered.
