Evan is also able to adeptly navigate and direct crowds of people in a way which is never bossy and makes it fun in the process. For example, there was one auntie who was holding a kleenex tissue while setting up for one of the photos; he noticed and gently asked her to give it to him, receiving many laughs along the way. He also made sure every face could be seen in the larger, extended family photos. We got so many compliments about him from our family members about his ease with all the guests. He was also very well liked by the church and venue coordinators. Leading up to the wedding, he's super responsive by email. We also chatted over the phone and skyped with him. Setting up times/meetings is a breeze. He's got these awesome timelines, spreadsheets, and other helpful items. And he really listens, takes notes, and works with your likes/dislikes on poses, styles, all the usual stuff. He's such a joy and pleasure to work with over the months leading up to the wedding, and we were so lucky to have him capture so many special moments. My cropped out home photos that I'd been using were clearly not going to cut it. In a panic I scoured the internet and came across Brian's work. He managed to book me in at short notice and gave me tons of good advice in preparing. The shoot itself was a lot of fun, and it really felt like we we collaborating together to get the perfect headshot. His photos were instantly loaded up onto a computer screen so we could scroll through and tag the good ones together and change looks and outfits. Brian made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. After the session was over, he worked on a very tight timeline to get me the processed photos before my deadline. Fortunately, the delightful Duende duo of Ken and Brady were on hand to beautifully capture every single moment (not to mention from every single angle) for eternity. This alone would've been worth five stars. But what really puts Ken and Brady over the top is their professionalism and desire to go above and beyond! I had first contacted Brady back in December to discuss this surprise proposal idea. We soon met in person, signed off on a contract, and then planned out every single detail of how they would hide, where I would drop to one knee, which direction I should face, what exact time the sun would be setting, what to do in the event of an emergency (like an idiot tourist suddenly blocking line of sight), etc. Leading up to the big proposal, I was understandably a trainwreck of nerves, but absolutely none of this was due to worrying about the photographers possibly dropping the ball. But then mother nature decided to make things interesting. Even during the driest winter that we've had over the last godzillion years, it decides to dump rain on my parade. Thankfully, Ken and Brady had me prepared ahead of time with an oversized translucent umbrella, and were both willing to brave the wrath of our one-day typhoon season in order to get the perfect shot. By sheer serendipity, the rain decided to stop just before we made our way onto the pier. By even sheerer serendipity, a schmuck like me got the most amazing person to say yes. As we were walking back towards Embarcadero as an engaged couple, Ken had a brilliant idea of posing us in front of some active F-Market trolleys. The results truly speak for themselves. Finally, one little insider secret for you Yelping lovebirds. I had originally contacted a few different wedding photographers in hopes of shooting my proposal. Ken and Brady weren't just the photographers whose portfolio I most admired, but they were also the cheapest! We could not have made a better choice than Josh. He photographed our wedding in August 2018 and the pictures turned out beyond our expectations! His candid work was incredible. The moments he saw and shot clearly show the joy, love, and fun we are having. We know that in years to come, we will look back at these pictures and it will bring us back in time to that very special day surrounded by those closest to us.
