I checked the outside service pipe and saw that the water was almost up to the ground level. Experiencing a similar thing at my previous home I knew something was clogged further down the sewer line. Kalob came out to snake the line all the way to the main sewer line. What he found out was a chunk of the pipe was missing near the main sewer so the sewage was seeping into the ground. Could definitely smell it. He gave me the quote same day and I approved the work. Saturday morning him and his team came out and repaired the broken part of the pipe. While doing the repair he discovered that the fiber company installed their fiber lines directly through the sewer line. We've only moved in a month ago so there's no way we would have known. I am please with the work he did and we no longer have the sewer issue and no longer have a hole in the lawn. I didn't understand the hole when we purchased the home, I just thought maybe a big rock or chuck of concrete was removed at some point.
