They cater towards a market of women who are perhaps professionals or mature-aged, as you won't find slinky mini dresses in here. The outfits have a lot of colour and suit all body shapes. You will find plenty of easy-to-wear wrap dresses and most of them supporting Australian designers. It's a lovely boutique and worth a visit if you are shopping for your mother, aunty or grandmother. It is mostly just clothes and shoes, with a few knick knacks, but no furniture or kitchenware. They have a section dedicated to formal dresses and costumes up the back, behind the counter.

Hope and Havannah sell some unique looking party dresses at pretty cheap prices. Mind you, the quality does not look so great but if you are looking for a party dress you probably will only wear a few times, this shop has a lot of those. Amongst the party-gear is some cute casual wear. Again, these are the the greatest quality but the prices reflect that. Hope and Havannah is not a bad boutique and for a store that small, they have managed to cram a nice selection of affordable wear.

This specialist art shop is open to the public although QCA staff and students receive a 10% discount. They carry a wide range of fine art products from oil paints to charcoals and a variety of canvases, drawing paper and sketch books. They also carry multiple brands of the same product to cater for the emerging artist who may not want to pay a premium for professional products while they're still training. Although they don't stock much in terms of craft products and they have a limited range of instructional art books, Oxlades is well worth a sticky beak for the hobby artist.

But if you're shopping as an outsider, which I was, I found the stock and service a little underwhelming. I was after a specific type of paper for an art project I was working on and the staff member either didn't know what I was on about, or didn't know whether or not they stocked it. That said, they did have a great variety of inks (if that's what you're after...I know I was!) and weren't bothered that I spent a bit of time there trying to figure out exactly what blue (they sold many tints and shades) I needed. I wouldn't recommend coming here if you're after an art supplies store with a giant range, but if you're in the area and dying for a tube of paint or a can of fixative, by all means duck in and have a browse.

"Brisbane City Council's two Tip Shops sell quality used, recycled and second hand products which have been salvaged before going to landfill." It's a large warehouse full of "stuff". Geebung is easier to get to is you depend on public transportation. Geebung has a train station which is only a few blocks away from the warehouse. Open from 8am - 4pm. We bought a few coffee mugs ($1.00 each), some foldable outdoor chairs ($5.00 each) with carrying case. When we went, they also had bicycles, kids toys, books, desks, shelves, kitchen items, clothes, golfing gear, tents, paintings, etc. The biggest bonus, besides your personal gain, is the fact that by purchasing items here, you're helping to support families and individuals with disabilities. They often have great pieces of furniture for sale, including beds and couches, dressers and cupboards. There is a huge range of womens clothing, mens clothing, kids and babies, and there is a rack of evening dresses and even wedding dresses. They previously had a rack dedicated to vintage and retro clothes, however this doesn't seem to be a focus anymore. However, there are still some great vintage items to be found. Salvos is open til 5pm all week and Saturday, however is closed on Sunday. The other thrift stores close just after lunch on Saturdays, but Salvos stays open until late.

The staff go above and beyond offering beverages and just being genuinely interested in what the customer has to say. The store is absolutely huge, especially by Brisbane standards. The clothes are always of the current season, and absolutely amazing. Everything is well cut, trendy and made with the finest materials. If I only had to choose one brand to buy from forever it'd probably be Zegna. The store follows the design philosophy of most Zegna stores and is quite a nice space to be in. Finally I'd like to give a shoutout to the family SA Ruby. She is absolutely amazing, she's extremely knowledgeable, friendly, funny and honest. Ermenegildo Zegna is an extremely fun place to shop, so if you're ever in the city and low on endorphins, make sure to stop by!
