Anyway, the people working here were nice and the desserts were yummy. It's just a typical cafe but the thing on the TV was pretty awesome. It was very embarrassing because the cafe was full and people were then paying attention as a result. Both colleagues were then talking to each in German while myself and my mother figured out the order ourselves. With the only tiny surface available which is inconveniently placed before the card machine, my mother tried to put a lid on her coffee and a rude insensitive customer pushed into her to pay and the coffee spilled all over her hand. The person behind the counter said nothing and only thing she did was hand over a dirty cloth. It was the worst service I have ever had in a cafe, which is a pity because the goods they sell are of high quality.

They were 20 Swiss Fancs and my hands began to warm as soon as I put them on!!! They kept me warm ALL night!! There are so many food option, so many drinks options, & so many shops. It was a little overwhelming!!! The atmosphere is festive and there are lots of families and friends mingling around everywhere. There is a lot to do for kids but really, everyone will be mesmerized by the myriad of sights and sound happening all around. This has been one of my favorite Christmas markets so far. With it, a perfect milch kaffee from a barista who was friendly, helpful and spoke enough English for me to explain. They have seating and a free wifi, so my half hour here was very nice. Plain, Cream-filled, or Chocolate. My latte macchiato and croissant were divine (and reasonably priced!) P.S. They also serve sandwiches and other pastries (Italian and Swiss). Indoor and Outdoor seating. When I stopped there were a few locals enjoying their afternoon coffee break. Skip Starbucks and go to Da Graziella!

This is a full service grocery store with everything you need to fill your apartment kitchen. Frozen, butchery, produce, dry goods, cleaners, fresh bakery and more. I had no problem finding an inexpensive beer and a pot of yogurt but on the way out, the smell of the bakery caught me and I added an almond croissant to the basket. Oops. The display of chocolates was easy on the eyes and called to the chocolate lover within. The saleswoman introduced us to Lackerli, a kind of shortbread style cookie, but soft like a brownie. Only available in Basel, it make the trip back to the U.S.A. to be shared with friends. There was a great deal of construction going on right outside the door and we had to return because when we found it, it was closed, however, during the day we missed it the first time we walked past.
