IT's menu is full of typical ski vacation favorites from Germknoedel and hot soups to gluehwein and schnapps. It is right on the slopes and can be accessed by the trails connected to the right of the Sonnenbahn double chairlift or by foot from the Mei-Zeit huts. The staff, except for the sometimes disgruntled owner, are incredibly helpful and friendly and I highly recommend the entire complex for a great vacation!

It's located on the Kaernten side of the Turracherhoehe ski slopes and is accessable with the Sonnenbahn double chairlift. You can also reach it by foot from the Meizeit huts. It sits right in the middle of the slope. On Tuesday and Thursday nights you can reserve a special raclette table while enjoying late night rodeln. I also think it is a part of the Seehotel Jaegerwirt. You may even get to have a beer with Franz Klammer if he is taking a break from skiing!

My family is half gluten free (Celiac) and it can be tricky to find options that everyone likes while traveling. By chance, we found Dawit and were thrilled with how accommodating our waitress was. She spoke 3 languages well and understood our dietary needs. My child ordered a basic grilled cheese that was not on the menu and I had the Spanish salad. We had pastries and cookies for dessert that were gluten free and wrapped and stored separately from the other desserts. Finally, the restrooms were the nicest I have found in Europe; everything clean, automatic, and beautiful. Such a gem and worth the trip!

They brought gluten free bread for my wife but explained the often bake a gluten free cake but not Sundays. I had trouble picking from their beautiful desserts but did pick the most delicious chocolate cake. We had a great cold supper and it is a must stop in Tarvisio, even just for coffee, wine or dessert.
