K and D Carriages along with Carriage Hills Ranch Wedding Venue in Blanco Texas played the main roles in making our wedding day truly magical. Throughout the duration of the time spent planning our wedding, I was VERY wishy-washy about indulging (financially) in a carriage ride up to the altar. However, please let me say that it was VERY fair priced, I just kept convincing myself that it was unnecessary. Finally, 2 days before the wedding I changed my mind again!!! On my way out to the venue, my aunt and I stopped to finalize the carriage deal... how presumptuous of me! I called Dennis and he explained that he was 5 minutes away and would be right there. So my aunt and I waited. Thirty minutes later, Dennis showed up. Much to my disappointment, he explained that he already had a wedding and another event that day and also that the specific carriage I wanted to use (one used in the movie Gone with the Wind) due to insurance purposes couldn't come out of the museum. Disappointing as it was, I had to be a big kid about it. He was so sweet and sincere and I was the one that felt like a butt head, because I kept saying yes then no, multiple times. The wedding day comes, then the moment where I meet my groom at the altar and I get the biggest surprise from my husband to be. My husband knowing how flaky I can be had already paid for the carriage for me. THE ONE USED IN THE MOVIE GONE WITH THE WIND!!!!!! OMG! A childhood dream I never even knew I had come true. I walked out of the bridal cabin and there was Dennis, his beautiful horse, and that gorgeous carriage waiting for little old me. I was ecstatic and Dennis had this mischievous smile and look of "Gotcha" all over his face. I misunderstood the look on his face, he apparently felt really bad about crushing my dreams a few days before. It really was AWESOME!!!! I highly recommend going to check out the museum, it is like stepping back into the old west. Dennis, thank you for such a magical experience it will forever be in my memories as one of the best moments in my life. It couldn't have happened if it weren't for you and my forward thinking husband. You and Kelly are the best!!!! read more
