Tucked into the food court of Joong-Boo grocery store, KCafe & Eats is one of the food court options and absolutely delicious! I needed to go grocery shopping, but before the tasks begins hubs and I needed lunch! We walked thru the choices available at the food court and decided that Korean wings would be a tasty lunch meal. We were there just before 3:00 so we ordered the KPopcorn chicken lunch special. It came with tater tots (my fav), popcorn chicken with ddukbokki (ttekbokki) in the OG sauce, and a soft drink. We also got a 5 piece chicken wing in honey sauce and a taro blended smoothie. The popcorn chicken with dduk-bokki was plentiful for a lunch special. The OG sauce is DELICIOUS! It's slightly spicy, sweet, umami, and covered everything well! The popcorn chicken was crispy and juicy, nice plump sized pieces, and the dduk-bokki was nicely seared, chewy, and fresh! The tater tots were fried well and we dipped it in the OG sauce. The wings were larger and juicy, sooooo crispy, and covered in plenty of yum honey sauce. It wasn't a sickly sweet honey sauce, it was well balanced! The taro freeze tasted like taro which is good. I've had it at other places where it just tastes like a cup of slushy ice and a hint of something. The owner (I think he was the owner) was so sweet and was patient while I tried to figure out what we wanted. Because we were there just before 3:00 on a Monday, it wasn't very busy. There are plenty of tables for seating and enjoying your food. They're spaced nicely apart and all kept clean. The food court area is separate from the grocery store and has its own entrance (far right doors as you face the front of the store). To get to the grocery side you'll have to leave the food court and walk over to the other entrance. Craving some delicious Korean wings, dduk-bboki, or even bingsoo? Pros - Friendly, personable owner and wait staff. Owner is Korean and the bingsoo is authentic. A great vibe. You can tell all the store owners are friends. Another owner came and chatted with all of us. It was awesome! - Snow shaved ice (milk). Unique and tastes like ice cream, without the extra calories. When the milk melts, the treat doesn't get watered down. It becomes a milkshake - When I was about to have a heat stroke in the 100+ degree weather, the bingsoo cooled me down ASAP! - They leave multiple different drink samples out - Love that it's attached to a Jung Boo Market (korean grocery store), so I can shop afterwards - Very clean shared bathroom with other shops (but only 1 stall, so have to wait if someone's inside). Usually, Korean store bathrooms are not clean, but this is an exception! Great little cafe! They have a touch screen menu on the wall. I guess I could use Toast app as well but have not tried. I had my usual chai tea latte the first time and a vanilla milkshake the second. Both delicious and perfect for how I was feeling. The people working hustle! They are very busy and despite how busy they are very friendly. It's crowded in the food hall and loud but I've been been able to find a small table to sit and go over my grocery shopping list while waiting for my drink. I have not ordered food there because we usually have gone somewhere to eat already. read more

This is the best sweet, spicy and salty meal I shared with my husband! He ordered the k Popcorn chicken meal. The meal was sooo good! The combination of the spicy chicken and sweet potato fries is genius. The portion is good for sharing snack. By the way it comes with a can of pop. We also ordered strawberry mango bingsu cup. Located in the food court of the Joong Boo Korean grocery, this food stall had a variety of Korean dishes, it was hard to choose. We decided on something that had a combination of items in the chicken, ramen and Dduk Bokki. We had a choice of spicy or spicy carbonara. Upon recommendation, we chose the carbonara, as the cream helped tone down the heat. Good idea. There was definitely heat. Now if only we had bread to sop up the yummy sauce. The first restaurant when you walk into the Joongboo market in Schaumburg. I honestly can't get enough of their k-glazed chicken and the rice cake that comes with it. I wash that down with a nice large smoothie with boba, which is one of the better smoothies around. The whole food court is nice and clean: a great place to visit for a quick meal between shopping. Great asian tasting spin on chicken. The kimchi coleslaw is a winning combination with the popcorn chicken and sandwich. The service is freindly and lady at the counter took her time and explained the menu items since it was the first time I went. The rice cake that came with the popcorn chicken is probably the best i've had and I'm very picky with duk bok ki since there aren't any places that make it good. I got the value meal deal and you cant beat the price for all the food you get. I would've easily paid another $10 for similiar quantity. Haven't tried the bingsu but it's made from fresh real fruits so that's next to try. Coming back for sure! read more
