We wanted to give this business every opportunity to make things right before leaving a review…read more Unfortunately, after both my wife's experience and my own conversation with the owner, I don't feel comfortable recommending this salon. My wife came in for a dip manicure and a regular polish pedicure. Before the services began, she specifically asked whether the dip powder and regular polish could be matched because she likes her fingernails and toenails to match. She understands they are different products and that they are never perfectly identical. She gets this combination of services regularly. She wasn't expecting a perfect match. She expected the technicians to help her choose the closest matching polish, which has been her experience at every other salon. During the color selection process, she chose a color she was later told wasn't available. After another mix-up, she agreed to use a different color the technician brought to her, believing it was the closest match because she had already explained that matching was her goal. After both services were completed, her dip nails were a bright hot pink while her toenails were a noticeably different orange-pink. This wasn't a minor difference between dip powder and regular polish. They were clearly different colors. Instead of asking them to remove and redo the completed dip manicure, she made what I thought was the more reasonable request. She simply asked if the regular polish on her toenails could be changed so they would better match her fingernails. She was told to wait, which she agreed to. When the technician returned, instead of discussing a color change, she repeatedly told my wife that she was "mean" and accused her of changing colors over and over again. From everything my wife described, and from what I later discussed with the staff, that simply wasn't accurate. The back and forth beforehand was about finding an available color before the services began, not repeatedly repainting her nails. My wife eventually asked the technician to please stop being ugly to her. No one stepped in to help, and she eventually paid and left with polish still left on the skin around her toes because the interaction ended so abruptly. When she met back up with me and told me what had happened, I suggested we give the salon a chance to make it right before posting any review. I returned to the salon with the receipt. I did not ask for a full refund. The total bill for my wife and daughter was $178. My daughter's services were fine. My wife's dip manicure was fine. I was happy to pay for all of those services. I only requested a refund for my wife's $49 pedicure because the requested correction was never completed and because of the way she had been treated. The employees told me they couldn't authorize refunds because the owner wasn't there. I suggested we call her, and eventually I spoke with her directly. The owner offered two options. She offered to redo the pedicure, or she offered a $15 refund for the polish portion of the service. I respectfully declined both options. After the way my wife had been treated, neither of us was comfortable having her return for additional services. I also declined the $15 refund because, by that point, the issue was no longer about the cost of the polish. It was about the overall experience and the way my wife had been treated. I explained that I wasn't asking for a refund on everything. I was simply asking for the pedicure to be refunded because of the overall experience. The owner disagreed and ultimately told me that if I wanted to leave a review, I should go ahead and do so, and that she would respond. So here are the facts. This review is not because of a color mismatch alone. Mistakes happen, and those are usually easy to fix. This review exists because a customer politely asked for a simple correction, was repeatedly called "mean," left without the correction she requested, and then, when we gave the business an opportunity to resolve the situation reasonably, no meaningful responsibility was taken for how she had been treated. If someone had simply apologized and helped my wife choose a closer matching polish, this review would not exist. If the owner had acknowledged that speaking to a customer that way was unacceptable, this review would not exist. Instead, what should have been a simple five-minute solution became the worst salon experience my wife has ever had. If you're considering spending nearly $200 here for yourself or your family, I think it's fair to know exactly how this situation was handled before deciding where to spend your money.
