Found this place on Instagram when I first moved to Tampa and was satisfied with the pictures and reviews. I ended up asking for Nicki because I liked what she was doing with color and she ended up being the owner, which was cool! I love finding young business owners. She took her time and paid attention to detail. We had to do the color twice on my hair because the color wasn't holding the way it should and we found out it was because of the color product my last stylist used. She was super professional in giving me the color I wanted and offered for me to come back so that we could strip the product my last stylist used. With hair you never know how it's going to react but I know with my next visits we will get there. Excited to have found a new stylist and salon! I love how my hair came out - I like to consider it a happy accident. Will forsure be coming back! Would like to add - I saw some of the reviews that weren't that great and I have to say that is your responsibility as a consumer to let your stylist know if you are satisfied or not before leaving the salon. And harassing them isn't nice either...you have to work with people whether you like it or not if you want the best service. read more

Save your hair and don't go there!!! This salon is horrible, I took an appointment on Thursday December 23th to cut my hair, my hair was very long and i asked to get a short haircut with a straight line.. The owner did the cut and I think hair name is nicky, she's blonde.. and she call herself a professional hairstylist.. unfortunately! When I had a seat on her chair I said "my hair is so long and you can control the haircut, I want a short length but I want it to be a super straight line" And this was the result as you see in the pictures! When I showed her these pictures she said that I'm mental abusing her, but what she did to me is more than mental abuse, she ruined my hair, she had me crying and depressing all the time during holidays!! She said she can fix it but who wants to let her fix something she ruined basically?? To ruin it more? No thank you! And when I asked for a refund she started to ignore me and she blocked me on Instagram!! Don't go there people please! I cry everytime I look in the mirror to see my up and down hair I will start my new year with a depression because of someone ruined my look! Meh!!!!! I had long mid back hair. I wanted a short brushing the collar bone haircut. I should have insisted that the Miley Cyrus wannabe tell me upfront how much she was going to charge, because she charged me over $80 for a "trim" because SHE didn't want to take too much off. I told her that my hair grows fast and that I'd like a shorter haircut. She disagreed with me. My hair is only about 3 inches shorter, instead of 7 inches shorter. "We are washing your hair, right? You need a good washing." Okay fine, stylist knows best right? Cuts hair to her length that she wanted. She's telling me Allll about how she has old ladies that tip her big time, and how if anyone tips on their card she can't get it that day, and she needs her tips sooner moreso than later. She tells me all about her "service" dog. (Cute dog, not gonna lie). Blowdrys and styles hair when it was DOWNPOUR RAIN outside. Charges me just shy of 80 for the trim. read more

As good as it gets! I lived in New York City for 20+ years and half that time I had an amazingly talented stylist cut my hair. When I moved to Tampa, all the hair cutters do is ask you what number to use on the electric hair cutter. I could cut my own hair if it were that simple. These folks do give you the attitude or act as pretentious as most of the salons seem to be in South Tampa. or at least the ones I went to get haircuts and were definitely treated like I wasn't accepted or a regular... Rob is a well trained & seasoned stylist. Great guy to talk to about politics, business, culture & travel. He understand my fun, thick, wavy & complicated hair. Well use of clippers and a good eye for hair. I've recommended them to many people and almost all respond how well they were treated and great they looked after being styled by Rob or Ana. Found this wonderful Salon on Yelp, glad I did! I called two other Salon's from the YELP listing to schedule an appointment - one could not help me due to computer failure and the other did not answer their phone. Kensington not only answered but scheduled me for the next day. The place is immaculate, people are kind and my hair which was terribly damaged from a Paul Mitchell Chain Salon ended up looking fabulous when I left. This is a family own place and everyone cares about you. We have a health plan in place for my hair. It's just wonderful. HIGHLY recommend for a great cut and color! read more

First, Nicki, the owner, is super sweet and the funniest person I know. It was not awkward during the appointment; however, it was my hair. The hair costs over $500; at home, I get it less than $300, but I get EXACTLY what I want. I have never received such a bad job on my hair after four years of dying my hair fully blonde. I wanted to do a retone and full highlight. The inspiration picture was a picture of myself, what my hairstylist has always done for me at home. Then I ended up with entirely brown/silver hair. It has never looked like that in my life. Then I came again today to get it fixed, and it ended up turning fully brown. I have never cried so much, and let me mention that this weekend is Halloweekend/my birthday. I couldn't go home to get my hair done, so I had to go to K Soho Salon. I cannot do anything now or go to someone else because my hair is already so damaged. Now I can't even look at myself in the mirror without balling my eyes out/hating how I look. Spent upwards of $500 on a trim and color/cut for my mom. My trim is as bad as it could possibly be. Choppy, uneven, and I want to cry every time I look at it. See the pics below for what my mom asked for vs what she received. When we booked our appointment we were sure to ask for someone experienced, and were assured "Of course, we're in Soho..." We then come to find out in the middle of our service it was the stylist's first day. THE WORST PART: I originally left a bad Yelp review. The owner contacted us saying my review was harming their small business and bribed us the cost of one haircut ($75) to take the review down. We felt bad for the business and took the review down. We weren't after that small amount compared to what we paid, but the owner lied and I did not receive any sort of refund after following up with her several times and am now being ignored by the business. Do not trust the good reviews as they definitely do not accurately represent the business. Save your money and don't trust these people with your hair!!! read more

I have been going to Rob since my husband found him shortly after they opened. I LOVE ROB!!!! He always knows how to make my hair look the best. You'd think that after all these years we might have hit a rut, but NO, it keeps getting better. Whether is my cut, perms, or color, Rob knows what suits me best. Rob is the ultimate professional and the only person who truly knows how to cut my baby fine hair to make it look voluminous. He also knows the best way to hide your "natural highlights" for a while. This place is ridiculously over priced. I went in for highlights. When it was time to pay I was taken back by the fee and asked how it had escalated so much from what I was quoted for highlights over the phone. I was told "well we did a low light as well and toner"....okay I still don't understand how it's that high..."well you also got a blow dry for $55". WHAT?! I have to pay for you to wash the color out of my hair and dry it before I leave?! Yeah, no thanks I can blow dry it at home, OH and I can give it a little style as well. My stylist was not talkative, my hair is patchy, and I walked out got to my car and cried. I would highly encourage you to go somewhere else. read more

New to the area. I have visited Kensington Spa and Salon twice within the past week and can not praise them highly enough Both Robert and Karen extend a very warm welcome and make you feel at home, as do the other team members. Karen gave me a beautiful French Manicure and my nails are still looking perfect one week on. Robert cut my hair today and I am delighted. Robert took time to listen to wanted and explained what he planned to do. He rescued a disastrous haircut and created a lovely cut that even looked good before he dried it. After seeing all the great reviews I came here to get my hair cut and healthy again. I have extremely fine and thin hair and to top it off it's also naturally curly. I said no layers due to all of those reasons but for some reason that's all my hair consists of now. She kept going and going. Granted all of my bad ends seem to be gone but I also cannot wear my hair down because it literally looks like a mullet due to the layers at the front of my face. I came here for a mini facial because I had some breakouts and needed a good cleaning. She spent a lot of time talking with me about my skin and really trying to understand what I can do to improve my skin. She used enzymes that corrected my pH, removed clogged pores, and my face felt so fresh. I have seen improvement in my skin since that one visit! Wow, wish I would have gone to this salon in the first place instead of wasting my time and money on the five salons that fell flat before it. I got an amazing haircut from Zoltan. Not only has he had a lot of experience but he skillfully cut my razor straight and thin hair. It was actually quite mesmerizing to see the transformation. This salon is only slightly more expensive than a lot of the surrounding salons but totally worth it. Sometimes one wonders if 5 stars is a hype thing but not this place.
