They are rude. Didn't try to fix any issues I had when speaking to the manager. They don't say anything to you until it's your turn to race. you walk in, hand them all of the money you got basically. And just walk over aimlessly to the track to find a car. No instruction. My shit got broken when I was there too and they were like we aren't liable and just walked away. Absolute worst experience ever. We paid $50 for two races and were told thats 12 laps per race at full speed (24 laps total). The entire first two laps you are on 1mph and then they have the carts turned down every lap. Out of the 24 laps, we got 4 laps at full speed at 30 seconds. Other laps were 55+ seconds for comparison. They refused to refund us or do anything about it. Will never be back again. Customer service is along with the last 3 reviews. Steer clear. read more

I drove over an hour with family that was visiting from out of state. We purchased 2 race packages for the entire family. However after our first race, we were told we had to wait another hour before we could race again. This was after we had waited 3 hours for the first one. Tried to get a refund on the second race and The general manager refused to return my money! He said there was nothing to do and we'd have to leave and call corporate on our own. This place has the absolute worst customer service. We drove three hours to get here. They sold me and my family a 2 race package and told us we would have to wait 3 hours to race. No problem since it is a Saturday. However after the first race they said it would be another 2 hour wait. Which was not specified upon purchase. When we explained we could not wait another two hours. The general manager refused to return our money or even transfer it to the one person in our party that does live in the city. He simply said there was nothing he could do and that we were free to call corporate if we didn't agree. He then simply walked away. Will never return to this or any other K1 read more

Loved this place!!!! Grabbed a groupon for a friend's birthday and our group had so much fun. 14 Laps goes by fast. Raced twice and played pool in between them. Good Red Bull selection. Tyler, the manager gave us great tips after our first race and although i didn't increase my lap Time the second go round(user error) I did learn some valuable race lessons. This place is extremely expensive. $28 for one ride. Then they hound you for drifting or doing anything fun. I understand safety is important but this crew is too up tight. I didn't have fun and I could have spent the day at Carowinds for the same as 2 rides at this place. I will say it is a clean and modern facility though. read more

First of all, it's important to note that this location has just redone its track layout, making it the largest track throughout all K1 locations. The track is awesome - high-speed stretches, tight hairpins and a chicane in one of the corners that'll wake you up every lap. For anybody that enjoys racing, or even if you don't necessarily care for it and are just a competitive person, you need to grab a couple friends and check out K1 Speed. My first experience with K1 was in San Antonio when I was traveling for work, and we decided we wanted to have a little fun one evening. I had visited both The Pit (Mooresville NC) and Victory Lane Karting (Charlotte NC) before and preferred VLK, but K1 is in a class of its own! In contrast to the other venues I listed, K1 karts are electric. I'd wager that fact alone would have most people raise an eyebrow, assuming that means they're slower and not exciting - and those people would be wrong. These karts are F-A-S-T, and because they're electric, they're much smoother than gas karts, which just helps to make the experience so much better. I've visited the Concord NC location 4 times now and each time has been great. The staff is safety-focused, so if you take your kids, you can feel confident they're able to have fun in a safe environment (no track operators just staring down at their phones while you race). Met Tyler, one of their managers, last night. Great guy - he had some pointers for different legs of the track, and we had a ball talking about racing in general. So if you're trying to decide if K1 is worth a visit, it absolutely is. I live in Matthews NC and it's worth the 30-minute one way trek up there. Go check it out! read more

I swore after the first time we went I would not go back but my son wanted to go so I tried again. He has fun with the kids races but he doesn't care how many times they slow them down. Me on the other hand it drives me crazy. Constantly playing with the speed of the karts. People running them are trigger happy so any little thing that happens they slow everyone down. From my first race to my second race my kart was almost 3 seconds faster. My second race I had 4 guys that I would say are regulars there by the way they were talking with the guys working. I could tell as soon as they gave us full power it was turned up more. They say you get 12 laps but the first lap you are partial speed for half of it. Next time I will let my son race and save my money for go pro. read more

Extremely overpriced for the length of the races. It was 250+ for a family of 6 to do 2 races. Also very selective in how they handle collisions with the wall. My son got pulled out of race halfway through for hitting the wall a couple times, while on the next track over, people were bashing each other with carts, ramming people into the wall, and some hitting the wall multiple times one each lap. Oh, and the email spam is insane. We had to signup with a family of 6, and For me and all 4 kids, I have received 21 emails in less than 24 hours, and thats after we made sure the box to avoid any future emails was set to say don't send emails. 1st time visitor, I'm sure we will return. Although, it seemed a little pricey, I'm sure it was normal to drop over $100 at this event with myself and one other to ride 3 races each. Wasn't thrilled about required to pay $8 per person as a membership, comes with a head sock that you have to bring back the next time or they will charge you $2. Having said that, It was fun, but when in experienced riders kept spinning out they would slow the machines down, so you lost momentum. Safety was the concern because they are fast, so I understand. I'm not going to lie the facility is really nice and everything is clean and laid out very well! But I'm giving it one star because I left disappointed and it did not feel that I got my moneys worth at all. The first disappointment was how short the races were, as soon as you seem to be getting into a rhythm, the race ends and that's it. The second thing that left me disappointed is their karts. Honestly they're really slow. Not quite amusement ride slow, but really not much faster. They seem to cut power as soon as there is ANY yaw detected. Also they have two really short tracks and I don't understand why? If it were a bigger single track it would be way better IMO. I'm not from Charlotte and I like to explore different kart tracks in the cities that I visit, for Charlotte, Victory Lane is wayyyy better. Wont be back anytime soon. Update: So someone responded from the facility saying that their karts are faster and that the race time is the same. I promise you neither is true. Just because a kart has a CLAIMED higher top speed, doesn't mean it's actually ever achieved on track. Actually the higher the claimed top speed, the less likely its going to be achieved on track due to how much power is available. That is simple physics. Also I don't think you know quite what you're talking about when you say its the same time on track. I think maybe it has to do with the fact that you guys take several minutes of the session to do "cooldown" super slow (max 5mph) laps that still count against our session time. VLK doesn't do this and it adds to the experience. I would suggest that you go and actually try VLK out considering they're one of your main competitor, to see what works well for them, instead of just going to Google pointless claimed stats trying to discredit a customers honest review. read more

The price is pretty good for what you get especially if you put a package like the speed pass! My first time at any K 1 and my cousins were hyping it up. We get there and they said an hour wait. Cool whatever. We finally get to the track and there's kids with us. Takes a little longer because the kids need pedal extenders and booster seats. Thought there was a height requirement but guess not. So we take off and I'm flying around the first turn and boom we're slowed down. But not all of us are slowed down. There is someone in the track who is FLYING past everyone. I'm like damn my car slow I want that one in the next race. So the whole damn 15 mins were literally cruising( I'm literally driving with one hand the whole "race"). Everyone except car 42. What kind of shit is this. After the race were obviously annoyed. Come to find out speed racer over here is a fucking employee! We go to the front desk and ask why it was slowed down. The manager is terrible and doesn't know anything and says she can give the race back to us but we're going to be with the same kids. We leave. I can get a better experience from a mini golf course go kart track. read more

Not sure what's happened to this place but very disappointed in today's experience. My family has visited multiple times and drive 45 minutes just to race. Now that there's 1 track it seems there's been a breakdown on how races are scheduled. Purchased 2 races; after the first race was over the next race was pushed out an hour and 30 minutes because another party came late. How is that our problem? The expectation that we are suppose to waste an hour and half because of another group can't tell time and the counter staff can't schedule properly is ridiculous. Took my boys to use their gift cards from Christmas to race here last night and couldn't believe that this company does not allow an individual who has 15 races paid for to not share races with their family members. My son was so excited to race with me for the first time, and K1 racing wanted me to purchase a whole other membership package, as well as pay a RIDICULOUS $7.00 sign up fee. Are you kidding me? We buy our son 15 races at this place and they are going to tell him he can't use them as he would like to? Then the teenage girl behind the counter had the nerve to claim they weren't ripping people off.. what would you call it then? I give them 1 year before they go out business. Ba humbug!!! read more

They should have price for adults and kids (age range) separately. I can take my kids to the place way more often. Every parents know their kids love to go on Go Karts. I have been kart racing since 2008, at over 30 tracks around the country, and K1 Speed Concord is one of the best facilities in the nation. Having 2 tracks allows for a sped up race schedule and not as much waiting as other tracks in NC. The staff was incredibly friendly and would highly recommend this track to others and would rather come to K1 Speed than Victory Lane any day of the week. read more

Was visiting Charlotte, and our group saw this place online and decided to go. The place is very well maintained, and the staff is friendly. The karts are not very fast, but due to the tight turns on the tracks, they feel a little faster than they actually are. We had a fun time and I would be giving this a much higher score if it weren't for one fundamental flaw - the karts. Our group had planned to spend an afternoon there, but after just a couple of races, several people's hands hurt so bad they had to bail out. The problem is that the steering is so "heavy", that your hands and forearms are exhausted after a race. The women in our group only made it one race because the karts were so uncomfortable to drive. I'm not sure if it's a tire pressure thing or a setup thing, but this is a major issue and one that will very much deter repeat customers. Hope they fix it because it'd be a fun place to do a bunch of group races. read more
