After evaluation I was charged $178 for this inspection and the estimate of repairs . I was told they had topped off the axle gear oil after I specifically asked them to do so. They said my truck needed $2800+ in repairs. This included replacing every part they would touch doing the axle bearing and seal repair Plus all bearings and other associated parts in the rear axle and seal repair. This included rear brake pads and rotors, both U-Joints and all differential bearings as well as the axle bearings. I took the truck to a well established local shop, which does not do axle/rear differential work, which I had trusted for years, to replace the U-joints, which was one of the items Johnnys said needed replacement. They were fine and needed no service. I asked about the axle gear oil. They checked it. IT TOOK 2 PINTS TO FILL IT. Johnnys not only furnished a greatly inflated estimate and charged me for such, they lied about topping off the gear oil. Then charged me to lie to me. NEVER USE THESE people. THEY are TOTAL CROOKS !!

We told them our situation and they said someone would wait till we got there around 5:25 pm. They put my truck in a lift and checked our transmission fluid level and said it was ok. By the time we left they had stayed about 45 minutes after closing to help us out. They were super nice and didn't even want payment. We did leave them a tip because of staying late and helping us out. I would definitely stop there again.

I told Bobby M. Campbell that I simply could not afford to pay anymore and he got a little pissy…read morewith me, very defensive, and I told him that I was at the end of my rope and wanted a full detailed report of his assertations, recommendations, and work order with pricing. All of a sudden the car would be finished by 10 AM the next day, on the 8th of March and that would just be $500.00 for his additional services, take it or leave it. I told Bobby M. Campbell, that I don't have $500.00 additional dollars, and that I'm flat broke. I was totally honest. Bobby M. Campbell came back to me and said "You ain't that broke". At that point, I was convenience that Bobby M. Campbell would take advantage of any motorist in peril and would squeeze every last dime from them until there was no more money to take. The previous review by another motorist "Matthew C", from Lake City, Fl. On October 12, 2023, experienced the same level of service from Bobby M. Campbell. At first, I thought Matthew C. was just hot under the collar. I tried to call him, but the number was disconnected. You can find Matthew C's story on Yelp, a month previous to mine. I am out of pocket, between $5,500 and $7,000, spread over my repayment of the cash advance. I will pick my vehicle up on March 8th and will then I will head over to the Lake City Clerk of Courts office to pay $300.00 more, to file a small claims suit against; Absolute Transmission, Robert M. Campbell, and Debra G. Campbell, located at 213 SWGULL DRIVE, LAKE CITY, FL, 32024. I also will ask for Punitive damages, for fraudulent actions and financial abuse of an elder US veteran, over 65 years old, through the Actions of Absolute Transmission Management Services and the registered owners Debra G. Campbell and Robert M. Campbell, Although the small claims court has a threshold award of $8,000.00, I believe that would go a long way to making me whole. In closing, on my way to pick up the vehicle, Robert M. Campbell texted me and further changed his demand! CASH ONLY, the car is on the lift for "inspection" and will not come down until I pay him cash, in full, every penny, because he needs the money for the weekend, he is heading to Daytona for Bike Week and will be leaving at 2:45, period. OK, I took another advance from an ATM and brought him his "blood money" because, due to the "circumstances, he will no longer take a credit card, "his machine is down", but actually it was not. Here is his actual text to me en route to pick up my car at 1:06 PM; Friday, March 8, 1:06 PM - "Make sure u bring exact change l stated the cost believe me all things have been considered I won't be taking a card today my machine is down and I need the money for the weekend i.wont be loooking.to play let's make a deal your a back walker.u havnt done s**t for me know that before u show up with a bunch of b.s all ive done is save you're a** money u fu**ng rich guys i fu**ing swear.who has ha big ass boat and crys.do not even come her with any bs at all you and your cryi.g broke to a working fu**ing man is falling on deaf ears and i take.your.commemts as a fu**ing insulting Don't fu**ing buddy me and I own u didn't save me a fu**ing thing period your car is up in the air for inspection when u pay u get it back from us good day I'm leaving at 2.45 for the weekend cash payment only". Nice guy, glad I finally got the Hell out of there, the saving grace is that the car runs fairly well, but all the drama and vulgarity was unnecessary. Tim K.

Bobby Campbell took 3000$ from my 85 year old mom to fix my transmission for the druck my dad left…read moreme after he died. He also took 300$ to fix the power steering pump. He said the work would be completed in 4 days. 10 days later the work was still not started, i went there. He cursed me and threatened me with a weapon. he would not release my car. When i got it back he had reverse charged the battery and fried the computer. He also stabbed a knife into the seat and ripped it up. The truck no longer runs. I took care of this truck like my dad would of wanted, changed the oil, tranny fluid everything myself. it purred like a kitten when i took it there. now it will not start i have replaced the map and maf sensors, the fuel pump and spent countless hours trying to track the problem. now i pieced it together. He said "we have to charge your pos truck battery all night" it was only a year old. he reversed the polarity and fried the ecm. i was tired and even fearful of the local police in this crime ridden trash city. do not come here. do not ever hire a mechanic here. if you have advice for reporting or a lawsuit, call me 386 438 0553, matthew

Saved Our Family Camping Trip - Honest, Fast, and Amazing Service!…read more J&W Auto is nothing short of a miracle shop! My family and I were over 350 miles from home on a camping trip at Suwannee River Rendezvous when our Denali suddenly started running horribly just as we were heading out to the springs. After a quick stop at O'Reilly's to pull the codes (which didn't help much), I asked for a recommendation, and they pointed me to J&W. I'm SO glad they did. I rolled in around 3:15 PM on a Wednesday, explained our situation, and let them know we had to be on the road by the next morning. Most shops would've either turned us away or seen us as an opportunity to charge a premium, knowing we were in a bind. But not J&W. They got us in immediately, diagnosed the issue, fixed it, and had us back on the road by 4:30--just over an hour later! The price was incredibly fair, the service was honest, and the kindness they showed us was unforgettable. Thanks to J&W, our family trip was saved and we were able to enjoy the rest of our time without a hitch. I truly hope I never have car trouble on a camping trip again--but if I do, I know exactly where I'm going. Highly, highly recommend!
