This was my first time, I got 2 chicken shawarma sandwich's, and a 4oz side of garlic sauce (I didn't realize each sandwich came with a 2oz side of it, along with a piece of wonderful bread). The staff was friendly and attentive. The prices are fair. The parking is plentiful and free. I'm not sure why some people bashed this place, my experience was wonderful, just like the food itself. Honestly this was the best Middle Eastern I've had in a really long time. I highly recommend giving this place a chance. An all-around very enjoyable experience! From the outside looking in this place looks a little rough, but once you're inside it's welcoming and very enjoyable. We grabbed one of the booths, and I found the seating to be very comfortable. The space is decorated with a lot of pictures, and various other Middle Eastern accoutrements. For a little while you forget you're in Clinton Township, and you think you could be in Royal Oak. My meal started with the lamb chili, which was very spicy and have the right amount of meat and beans in it. The bread was out in a hurry as well, and it was everything that others have written it to be. Soft, warm, and just perfect. I went with the deboned chicken, and was amazed at how generous the portion was for a "half." There were at least four generous size portions of chicken, totaling at least half a pound. The rice was generously served as well, and was delicious and flavorful. The staff was very friendly and told us about their Sunday buffet. They seemed genuinely glad to take care of us during our meal. You can bet we'll be back soon! read more

Went for lunch with my sister . She's a vegetarian and the menu suits her needs . I'm not a big fan of this cuisine but today I was surprised I had pita bread and garlic spread , lamb chili and a gyro. Everything was fantastic. The garlic spread was not over powering the chili was made with lamb not spicy at all and the gyro was really good was not over powered by the the onions or the sauce. I will try again. read more

2nd visit and we were right - everything was cooked perfectly this time. I had shish tawook lemon oregano which was amazing as always. Mom had the shawarma combo which was cooked perfectly and dad's lamb stuffed grape leaves were to DIE for (and I'm not a big grape leaf person). Grape leaves were a little spicy (more a zip than a burn) but the lemony sauce that came with was a perfect accompaniment. I was more than trepidatious when picking this spot to eat, but man were my fears put to rest quickly. Samantha, the young lady on the telephone walked me through the menu, and answered every question with ease. She was extremely patient, as I asked several involved questions, and not once was she rude. Sounds easy, but it is actually quite rare these days. She took the time to answer everything in depth, and made sure I was comfortable with the answers. Great job! The lamb kabob was cooked so well, it was like I dreamed up my favorite temperature and had it presented as such. So tender, so juicy, so delicious. The shish kafta was another winner. Again, perfectly seasoned and cooked, and exploding with flavor with every bite. The hummus was good too; not superb, but certainly better than your average place. Perhaps I received an older serving, because everything else was fantastic. The tabouli salad was the same as the hummus. Great tasting for sure, and certainly in my top 10, but not the best. But it did have a great refined lemon taste without overpowering the salad, which many places do-overly lemony or not enough. The fattoush was killer, and my girlfriend and I devoured it with a fury. The kibbee neyeh is the only thing I didn't like. Again, it was nowhere near bad, but this dish was also not in my top 10, and with kibbee neyeh, it needs to be totally on point or else it's not worth ordering. The baba ghannoui, which I ordered, but was not packed in my carry out, would normally have set me off with a Hulk-like fury, but didn't. Why? Because when I called back to tell them they forgot to pack it, Samantha offered to drive 40 mins to my house to bring it to me! That's a great employee!!! Instead, I took credit for the next time, because I will most definitely be back, and will be spending $60-75 every time I do. Thanks to the chef for the great food, and an even bigger thank you to Samantha for being the best customer service person I've encountered in years. Stopped here after receiving a recommendation from a friend the night before. It's in a former Chinese restaurant location, and if you look at the ceiling tiles and the predominance of red and dark wood walls, you have no problem seeing the former tenant's traces. The new owners have adorned the walls with items to bring a more Middle Eastern vibe, but the interior could be a bit lighter. When we walked in around 8 PM on a Sunday, it was fairly empty. A couple of women at a table asked if we'd been before, and when we said it was our first visit, they indicated the food was very good and portions large. So, two recommendations down, we sat at a table. Service was very friendly. During the course of the meal, the cook and the owner both stopped by to see how we liked our food. We both ordered tea, and the server kept refilling one of those small metal teapots with hot water and fresh tea bags for us throughout the meal. I wish that they had some larger tea pots so she didn't have to hustle so hard. On to the food...the lentil soup was very tasty. We liked the garlic spread, which was a bit milder than we've had at some other places. They served the spread with the puffy pitas, and offered us more (a nice change from restaurants that are stingy with the good bread). I just wish the pitas had been warm instead of cold, but it beats the plastic wrapped flat bread they serve at some other Lebanese/Middle Eastern restaurants around here. I wish the salad was a little less drenched in the dressing, even though it was tangy and good. Next time I'll try asking for the dressing on the side. We had the chicken shwarma and stuffed grape leaves for entrees. Both were large portions, so we had leftovers to take home. The grilled veggies were excellent, much better than at Lebanese Village. The grape leaves were tender, with the lamb nicely seasoned. Dinners run about $15, and they offer lunch specials for $7. There is a card for frequent lunch buyers, too. We will return! read more

We dinned in, and the waitress was attentive, and helpful with menu suggestions, and the food arrive perfectly paced. The mint lemonade was a nice balance between tart and minty, and was incredibly refreshing. They serve fresh, hot pita with garlic spread, which was perfectly balanced. I ordered the chicken kafta sandwich, and it was deliciously seasoned, and fresh. It wasn't overly greasy like many other restaurants. This place is amazing, and well priced. This place is an absolute gem! A basket of pita bread is complementary with the meal and they are so fluffy and delicious and served with a big bowl of delicious garlic sauce to dip. We went through them so fast our server brought out a second basket! I got a falafel sandwich and a vegetarian maza combo thinking that either one by itself wouldn't be enough food but I was proven very wrong. The sandwich was delicious wrapped in a thinner flatbread (taboon bread?) And loaded with crunchy falafel and tasty homemade pickled radish and cucumber. The Maza were also great! A real standout was the spinach pies with puff pastry shell and a savory and lemony filling. A piece of the rolled pistachio baklava was the perfect last bite for the meal. Choice of rice or fries is standard at most Mediterranean places but here you can have grilled vegetables at no upcharge or they even tell you that you can do 1/2 rice 1/2 vegetables if you prefer. The last time I was in the area visiting family I went here more times than I can count and this is a very easy 5 star review for me. Here's why: - The people who work here are great. Very friendly and their service is fast. - They have never messed up an order I placed, not even slightly. - The food is fantastic and totally consistent whether you dine in, carry out, or order delivery. Everything tastes fresh and like it was made with pride. - The prices are super reasonable. - They have good variety on their menu, but it's not extensive to the point of being overwhelming. - They have great bread and they are very generous with it.
