I always love coming here. I had the opportunity again to order a platter for my family. The flavors that Kabob palace has for their kabob are just flavorful and smokey. It seems they just have it down pat. I got a lamb (a bit chewy with fat) and chicken and Kebob sheesh with chickpea, rice, salad and Nan. The Nan is fluffy and you get fresh chewy nan instead of the dry and brittle ones at other comparable shops. I like that it taste like sourdough in the bites. read more

Oh how much I miss this place. I lived in Falls Church and would drive here once a week or once every other week. I love that they make everything fresh and when you order; they get right to cooking. Kabob Palace is a national treasure! I lived in DC for 6 years from 2015-2021, and I would come here often. The chickpeas are simply divine (and well-seasoned). The chicken kabobs are smokey and succulent. Even the salad was always crisp and packed with flavor. Nom nom. The kabobs here are really good with the naan. I had the chicken and lamb tikka combo and the lamb tikka was by far the best lamb tikka I've ever had and my family owns several Afghan restaurants. Both kabobs were cooked very well despite being large chunks. I didn't care for or like there sides or the rice hence the 4 stars. The kabobs are top notch though. I will be back to try the lamb chops next and the bone in chicken. Would love to try some of the Karahis but they look like way to much for one or two people lol. Kabob Palace is hidden behind the slightly shady plaza in Crystal City. There is a lot of seating inside and you wait in line before ordering and paying. With 9 of us a couple Sundays ago, the food came out surprisingly fast and the portions were huge. CHICKEN KABOB (BONELESS) - 19 (post-tax) Again, the portions were massive. I chose chickpeas as my side/vegetable and there was a heaping amount of chickpeas on top of a very flavorful bed of rice. A small side of salad and a several pieces of juicy chicken breasts that have been charred and seared to perfection. I ate maybe half of it and was able to make two smaller lunches out of it the couple days after. This was such a good deal and the food was so delicious. Again, that chicken really be hitting and you can eat that rice on its own because its well-seasoned. I would highly recommend Kabob Palace. The food took 30 minutes which allowed for plenty of time to notice the health hazards. Most of the food is touched with bare hands. You will notice them touching the register and money and then food with their bare hands. My personal favorite was when one of the guys wiped off his sweat, proceeded to pick his ear wax, then handle someone's bread. The food itself had bold flavors. Walking into the restaurant on a Saturday night after midnight and the tables were full and the line snaked around to the entrance from the register. Nothing fancy, but it was on and poppin.' I ordered only the lamb kebab and naan bread with the sauce to make a wrap to eat on the train back up to NYC. Well that didn't happen and I ate it the next day back home. This is an important point, because it was juicy, tender and flavorful two days later! For well under twenty bucks, that was quite a bargain, with so many tender chunks of lamb meat the plate sized naan had difficulty wrapping around. It's the best wrap you'll ever eat! There is so much more on offer here. The chickpeas and spinach looked great! All the meats look and smell tremendous. This is a savory Kabob Palace. If you manage to get a table during peak time, you can have your meat, rice and veggies served up in these gigantic steel bowls, whose steam rising hints at the fragrant and spicy olfactory aromas soon to treat your palate. The platters they fill to the styrofoam's capacity with the meat, rice and veggies are feasts and bring people back. One time here and you'll be a repeat patron too!
