Right now my wife loves watching MeTV on your 23.1 KAEF station in Eureka. So I'm giving you 5 stars. But I hear that is about to come to an end... The first thing I'd like to say about the Sinclair Group, who owns this station, is that they immediately stepped up to the plate and put an end to blatant petty political rhetoric expressed by some members of the news staff. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but opinions have no place in news reporting (IMHO). Just the facts, please! I was particularly disappointed that none of our local channels saw fit to broadcast our country's 2019 Independence Day celebration. It was indeed an absolutely newsworthy and breathtaking celebration of our Nation. Definitely a missed opportunity, and lack of respect for the viewing public and our country (again IMHO). Of the several OTA TV channels available in Eureka, Channel 23 seems to be able to maintain a signal better than the others, although none of them seem to be very good at it. And once it's gone, it's gone until the next day. Guess everyone goes home at 5:00? Apparently, Channel 23.2 is dropping MeTV. Very disappointing for me as this station has the programming that I most enjoy. In my home, this is the station that comes on at 8:00 in the morning and is watched most frequently throughout the day. While streaming definitely has its benefits, let's face it, it just isn't TV. I think there is only one program from MeTV that is available on streaming; the rest will be lost unless MeTV finds another local channel. MeTV is the last of the "good old-fashioned television programming", when TV shows were designed to appeal to the viewer's intellect rather than how many curse words and explicit sex acts you could fit into a 30-minute script, and the programs could be enjoyed by all family members and guests (in the same room). I've left a couple of voice mails with the station to ask about replacement programming; however, as of this date I have not heard from anyone. KaefTV has too many problelms.... for one I keep not getting my closed captions while watching the morning NEWS.. Today is Thanksgiving and the deaf community lost their closed caption the whole time it NEWS was on. I wanted to know what Taylor Swift was telling us.. but no closed captioning on. Can someone keep an eye on closed captioning and keep it working as it bothers us to not know what's happening??? Here in Crescent City needs a new Tower as signals keep going off, can't use our cells, or computer as it comes on we're having difficulties and it is hours before we get a connection or even the next day......!!!! read more

This station is terrible. I've lived all over the USA and this is the worst. I mssed the finals of Jeopardy 2019 championship games, because they decided to show reruns from last week instead. WHY? Who knows? Had to give them 1 star to post this, but they deserve a minus 10 stars. read more

This channels constant mini black outs throughout a broadcast are beyond annoying. Last nights Oscar telecast was almost unwatchable because of this issue. In addition, this has been going on for a long, long time. KAEF, when is this going to be resolved? Will it be resolved? read more

Just like most channels out of Eureka, any time there is a live event being broadcast you only get to actually watch about half the event due to the channel's picture and sound messing up so badly. I tried to watch a college football game on this channel and missed most the game because the picture kept messing up and the sound was cutting out. For some reason the tv stations in Eureka haven't figured out how to bring us a good picture so we can enjoy the tv programming on a consistent, regular basis. read more

I missed the title of the movie that you showed at 9:00 am on the twenty fifth but a title wasn't necessary, I had to watch every second that I could catch. Primarily due to my age, being born there & witnessing all of it, I could relate completely & catching my tears was a major problem the entire time that it was on.
