    Harmonics

Amber is our sweet Golden with hip dysplasia. She has had various non-invasive medical treatments. But at 12 she showed increased difficulty getting up, walking a few stairs and getting in and out of the car. She became increasingly hesitant about her movements. Enter Dr. Levine, Julie and the KAI Animal Institute with a treatment strategy that has immensely improved Amber's quality of life. We connected immediately as they were caring, gentle and most important,Amber trusted Dr. Levine and Julie. It is amazing to watch the connection. Amber responded to the stretching, acupuncture, harmonics, and light treatment like she was at a spa. They also educated us on how to contribute to her continued wellness. Dr. Levine and Julie continue to suggest "tools" like a harness that helps lift Amber so she can continue to do the things she enjoys like going to the park off leash and play with her playmates! Next month Amber will be 13. We are grateful that she has a much improved quality of life due to KAI Animal Institute and their approach to animal care, healing and wellness. 5 stars +++++ and highly recommend! Dan, Cheryl and Amber

I've been bringing my older (13 yo) dog here for several years. Everything has gone very smoothly,…read moreand today I was blown away by the pricing: He's grown a few lumps over the last couple months so I brought him in to check. They did the biopsy and analysis on three of them, and gave me the (benign) results in less than an hour. All for $143. I see people complain about pricing, but don't forget that the prices of vaccines and meds are controlled by big pharma, not by the vet! If you want to complain about that, you need to complain to Congress, not to the vet.

The woman working at the front desk was extremely rude and unwelcoming. Thankfully, another staff member stepped in and said they would still see my puppy, even though I had accidentally forgotten the paperwork from when I got her. Once we were in the exam room, the experience continued to be disappointing. The veterinary assistant would not give my puppy back to me and spent the entire appointment holding and playing with her. She stood between my boyfriend and the vet, making it difficult for him to see the exam or communicate with the doctor. It felt inappropriate and uncomfortable, especially during my puppy's first visit when I was trying to understand her health and care. The biggest concern, however, was the reason I brought her in. Since we got her, she has had a very itchy ear. I brought this up to the vet, but I was told it was just a little dirt and that she was fine. After leaving, I felt uneasy and did not feel confident that my puppy received the thorough care she needed. I decided to take her to Manoa Vet, where they immediately took an ear sample and discovered she had a yeast infection. Thankfully, they caught it before it became worse and we are now treating it. I am extremely disappointed that this concern was dismissed so quickly, especially in a 3-month-old puppy who is fully indoors. A proper test should have been done instead of an assumption being made. Veterinary care requires patience, compassion, and attention to detail. This is Hawai'i, where we value aloha and treat our families--including our furry family members, with love and respect. Unfortunately, I did not feel that care here. Nor did I feel the Aloha! I will not be returning and have found the level of care and compassion I was looking for at Manoa Vet.

She would be out of sight being under furniture most of the time, because of this we named her "Hidey", a play on the name Heidi. Over the past couple of years she was slowly getting weaker, and I knew since she was 17, she was on the downhill slope of life. When it finally came time in December of this year, I sadly made the arrangements with Kakaako Pet Hospital. I chose to have her cremated with her ashes reutrned to me and the staff at KPH patiently went through what they'd be doing and what exactly to expect with a time frame. My appointment to have her put down was the following morning but my kitty went that night instead. Heartbreaking but that made me feel better that she was able to spend her last moments at home. I took her the next morning (Tuesday) to drop her off at KPH and was able to pick her up on Friday. Her ashes actually was ready the following day but a couple of things KPH does is get a plaster paw print of your pet and a clipping of fur if you choose to so the waiting was for the paw print to fully harden. All of this from the explaining of the total process and arranging with crematorium to doing something special like the paw print and fur clipping really made a big difference for me with comfortably being able to let go. Hidey is now home and she will always live on in my memories. Thank you Kakaako Pet Hospital.
