Swung by on a Friday night and the place was pretty quiet. It's kind of tucked away in a corner so it's not very obvious there's a sushi restaurant there. I ordered the Spider Rainbow Roll and it was pretty good!

Casual Japanese spot with wonderful combo lunches. My mom and sister had the chicken teriyaki/California Roll combo and the tempura / California Roll combo (these were $20ish each). I had the sashimi combo ($29.99) - the fish was of decent quality. All the above came with miso soup, rice, and salad. The portions were very generous! The lady working there is super nice :)

Came here with a friend on a weekday evening. Was not crowded and we were seated instantly. Service was quick. They have a wide selection of rolls, appetizers and entrees. We got 3 rolls - rainbow roll, Kai roll, and dragon roll. The rolls had a generous portion of fish and the fish tasted so fresh & good quality. The restaurant is unassuming but the food quality was amazing. Don't sleep on this place for sure.

The sushi here was fantastic. The fish to rice ratio makes it a great bang for the buck. Service was fast and the restaurant is a cozy spot.

I think this place is 3.75 stars with what we ordered. It's a pretty run-of-the-mill neighborhood sushi joint. We came by because we were in the area. The sashimi and rolls were fine. The tempura came hot and crunchy, without doughy batter. I think the teriyaki salmon was the downside of the meal; it was dry. So were the jalapeño poppers with the same dry salmon. Ambiance is as you'd expect for a Bay Area neighborhood sushi and japanese restaurant, black table tops and lots of brown chairs. One TV with sports on. Service was straightforward. I could see this local place being four stars if you only ordered the tempura, rolls, and sashimi for a quick neighborhood weekday meal. Actually had to update this because I've had a lot of tempura recently and I'm reminded of how surprisingly light and crispy the tempura here was.

I'm surprised to see that this place has so many good reviews. For one, the store from the outside looks like it's under construction/not open so we couldn't tell where the entrance was. All of the sushi rolls we tried were poorly constructed, dry, and lacked flavor. The salmon also tasted old. They also use crab sticks instead of crab+mayo, which reminded me of gas station sushi.. every piece fell apart when picked up and they were very stingy with the avocado. The sauce was also just sriracha so it's unfortunate because a better variety of sauces would've definitely saved the rolls. Nice rice to fish ratio but that doesn't mean much when the fish isn't fresh. I also had a stomach ache from eating here. I wouldn't recommend anyone to come here honestly. At $18 a roll it should be much better. At least the server was nice.

Quality/Quantity - Kai - This was good and fresh. The two thin layers of salmon on top was a pleasant surprise. Crazy Roll - Sushi was good! Fresh and generous amount of fish. Good color on the fish, hopefully not dyed. The deep fried flakes were good also. But the edamame seemed either old or way over cooked/boiled. I could not eat it. Combo - Salmon & Chicken Teriyaki; this also came with miso soup. The dish was just okay. The miso soup was standard. The chicken seemed boiled too...? It was very tender, but lacked flavor, even with the sauce. The salmon was also standard. Ginger & Wasabi - Plenty of wasabi, but not enough ginger. $1 for each additional side if you wanted more. In summary, come here for the sushi but I would pass on the combos, entrees, etc. Atmosphere - Small mom and pop location. The place has changed and is smaller now since we used to come here in the past, way back in the past. Probably quite a few owners ago. I believe the name of the restaurant started with an "A;" I'm just getting too old to remember. Open 6 days a week from 11:30am to 9pm, closed Tuesdays...? See my picture or Yelp. FYI - Your website says you are open 7 days a week. One unisex bathroom. Small parking lot, but all the other businesses are now closed, so plenty of parking. Plus you can also park in the huge mall parking lot and walk over. Just read on your website that you have private rooms? Service - Good. She was accommodating and gave us everything we requested. Price - $60 + tip; expensive for what we got. I was hungry so I definitely ordered one too many rolls. So for a normal meal as light eaters, we could have gotten out of there for only $45 + tip. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2018.

Been driving by until we stopped for a little date night. Quaint clean and wonderful ambiance! Jun the waitress was amazing, friendly and warm. Knowledgeable about the menu and ready to help with suggestions. The sushi! Let me tell you! The fish here is top tier and so flavorful. Good food good beer and a chef that just gets it! If you need a new place for sushi , this is the place. Don't second guess just try! I came here the day after as well for another roll, it was THAT good. You won't regret it! You're welcome xx

It's located in the plaza, north west corner, somehow hard to find from the inside plaza. Based on our experience, all sushi were not fresh and kinda dry. No taste. I just take it as our luck that day! Service and ambience was just OK.

The food was fresh and nicely prepared, and overall I was very satisfied. The atmosphere was comfortable, and the owner welcomed us warmly, which made the dining experience pleasant. Both the quality and the price were good. I will visit again.

This is the old Ariake location but happy to say, the sushi is a big upgrade here! If you like rolls: hand rolls, baked rolls, fried, rainbow, saucy, not saucy, vegetarian, or chock full of fish, this is a great spot. Being new and in all, I walked in on a Sunday and there was plenty of seating left. Service is very friendly and food came in a swift manner. I especially liked that their rice to fish ratio is great. And they let us modify a couple of rolls to the way we liked them. My best friend hates unagi but loves unagi sauce, so we switched up some rolls to her liking and got a side of sauce for everyone to share. They were very pleasant and accommodating. Their menu is quite extensive, and again, modifiable so there's something for everyone here.

    O-Philly Roll ($10.99)

Kai offers fresh fish and massive rolls! By massive, I mean that they really stuff their rolls with fish/fillings. A lot of places tend to have lots of rice compared to fish, but the ratio here is the complete opposite which I absolutely love. Reasonable prices too. We got an O-philly roll, mexican roll, spicy crazy roll and two miso soups which came to about $44. Our favorite was the Spicy Crazy Roll, which was stuffed with tuna, albacore, salmon, yellowtail, jalapeño, avocado, and tempura! So much stuffing and all of the fish was buttery soft. The slight kick from the jalapeño and the side of tempura crunch really pulled it all together. The O-Philly was a creamy and delicious roll, and the Mexican roll was basically a california roll on steroids. Miso soup was a comforting touch to the meal. Kindest service ever! The server, Joon, was super nice and made our dining experience very pleasant . The inside of the restaurant is tiny but cozy. A great casual sushi spot that I highly recommend checking out!

Decided to come for dinner as I was craving sushi, and this cute little establishment was the perfect spot for satisfy those cravings. We got a variety of items: the jalapeno poppers, crazy roll, sahara roll, and miso soup. The portions were really large, and two of us got full on just the two rolls and the appetizer. The rolls also didn't skimp on the fish, and was generously filled with all sorts of fish. I personally loved the salmon on the sahara roll, as it was fresh and tender. Definitely recommend a visit!!

While waiting for my car to get serviced I decided that that day I would finally try Marufuku. I had heard so many good things about it. My buddy worked a half-day and offered to scoop me up from the dealership to hit Marufuku. How could I say no? We arrived and luckily were sat right away. I know MR gets packed and wait times can me long. That day Lady Luck was on our side. We started out with gyoza, because that's what you do. I ordered the Hakata Tonkatsu DX with medium spice. My buddy had the Chashu Bowl. My ramen was simply a bowl of heaven...with a little hellfire. Medium Spice is pretty spicy. But oh-so-good. I believe it's been one of the best bowls I have had in the Bay Area. I am a Ramen-phile (is that a word?) and I simply loved the bowl. So much so, I am trying to figure out when I can make my way down there. The gyoza was also very, very good. True Japanese-style, which is different from Chinese pot-stickers. I could have eaten another order without feeling guilty. My buddy enjoyed his Chashu bowl and finished it quite quickly. Service was also good--quick, efficient and polite. Very nice. In closing, it is a great ramen house and I will most definitely go back. And now for the pics.

Everything tasted as expected: flavorful and delicious! Each meat comes with its own marinade, ensuring that each bite offers something mouthwatering for your tastebuds. I really enjoyed the Sweet Soy Tare Toro Beef & the Miso Yaki-Shabu Beef. Out of all of the sides we tried, I must strongly recommend you get the Spicy Addicting Cucumbers!!! The curry broth and the plant based meat were well seasoned and the yuzu gave the dish a nice citrus kick. I love spicy food and usually feel like ramen is not spicy enough, but this was the perfect level. Noodles were tasty and there was a good noodle to soup ratio. My friend gave the Kiwami Tonkotsu a 4/5 and said it could be a bit more flavorful. She tried some of my Kiwami Vegan and said she would order that next time instead Overall, amazing vegan ramen! Being a broth lover, I can assess the authenticity of a ramen place by tonkotsu broth. And this place really does an excellent job in delivering a savory fatty bowl of tonkotsu ramen. I also added duck breast to mine. $6 for 4 pieces of duck breast is actually no bad of a deal, especially considering the quality of the duck breast slices. They were not super thick, but got enough bite in there for you to enjoy the texture of the duck meat. It was not overdone and did not lead to a less than desired rough sandy texture. Rather, it was possibly slightly undercooked. The skin was intact and the fattiness from duck skin just brought so much joy to every bite. I savored every bit of that in silence. We ordered a variety of dishes to share, and it was one of those meals where everyone at the table found something they loved. One dish I was surprisingly impressed by was the Ankimo (steamed monkfish liver in ponzu). I'll admit, the word liver immediately made me hesitant, and if they hadn't told me what it was, I probably would've been less nervous trying it. But I'm really glad I did because it was incredibly buttery, smooth, and rich. It almost melts in your mouth, and I honestly think it would pair perfectly with a bowl of steamed rice. We also ordered the Hiyayakko (cold tofu with ginger & scallions), which was a really refreshing starter. The tofu was silky smooth and delicate, and the ginger, scallions, and soy-based seasoning added just enough flavor without taking away from the freshness of the tofu. It was simple, but really well done. We also ordered the Salmon Mayo Yaki Onigiri. While it was good, I think this is the one dish I'd probably skip next time. The crispy grilled rice ball itself was delicious, but there just wasn't enough salmon mayo on top. It felt like I only got a tiny spoonful, so once that was gone, it was mostly just rice. Since my family couldn't decide, we ended up ordering all three clay pots: the Sake Oyako Meshi (grilled salmon & salmon roe), Unagi Meshi (BBQ freshwater eel), and Tori Soboro Meshi (braised ground chicken). Out of all of them, the Unagi Meshi was easily my favorite. The eel was tender, slightly smoky, and coated in a sweet-savory glaze that soaked into the rice underneath, making every bite incredibly satisfying. The clay pots also gave the rice a nice crispy layer on the bottom, which added even more texture. We also shared two of their signature pizzas: the Mentai Kinoko and the Nasu Curry. I wasn't expecting much since it's pizza at a Japanese restaurant, but they were honestly so good. The crust was paper-thin, crispy, and light, so it didn't leave you feeling heavy afterward. The Mentai Kinoko had a great balance of spicy cod roe, snow crab, mushrooms, bacon, and cheese, while the Nasu Curry had a rich curry flavor that paired surprisingly well with the eggplant and cheese. Both were huge hits with my family. The restaurant itself has a warm, traditional Japanese atmosphere that makes it feel cozy and inviting. The server was incredibly friendly and helpful, taking the time to explain the menu and recommend dishes when we couldn't decide what to order. Their recommendations definitely did not disappoint. My whole family left happy, and it's one of those restaurants where I already know I'll be coming back to try even more of the menu.

Green tea creme brulee 5/5 well balanced flavors, maybe could use a little more green tea flavor, the vanilla over powered it. But it was still very delicious. Service: 90 minutes of dining time, the menu is large so it took time to decide what to order and they don't have paper menus anymore which is a little hard to review the small font on the phone. I think they should go back to providing at least 1-2 real menus per table. It was very warm in the restaurant even though they said the AC was on. The food came out relatively fast, but there were some pauses between dishes. The claypot rice took the longest and I was almost full by the time it arrived. Ambiance: casual restaurant, authentic Japanese style where you have to remove your shoes and sit on mats. The restaurant filled up quickly by 7pm. We had a reservation for 6:15pm.
