He has learned a lot in just one year, and not only can he converse in French, but read and write it too! He has become more confident in asking, and conversing with native French speakers, and with others. In addition, he has learned some fun songs and games in French, and has made a lot of new friends in the program. He is going into the first grade this year, and will continue in this wonderful program twice a week. My older children had gone through a different after school program years ago before the EFBA was available, and wish that their program had been as good as this one. They are in high school now, and are taking French in school, and have noted how much he has learned in the EFBA program at a young age. All the instructors are native French speakers and trained instructors. The teachers are kind, organized, really care for the children, and make learning fun. They did seasonal crafts, and special performances at various holidays, and my son really enjoyed the school's celebration in January with Galettes des Rois (King Cakes) a lot. It brought the community together, and it was fun to celebrate this holiday with others, and learn new traditions. The families in the EFBA community are all very nice, and it has been a good experience for the parents to make friends with each other too. This year the EFBA is offering the extra enrichment opportunities of the "Museum Quest" and "Kid's Night Out" for free with your child's enrollment in the program. The Museum Quest is a really nice opportunity for the children to socialize, and have fun in French with local field trips. The Kid's Night Out is a evening for the children to have fun with activities in French, while the parents can have their own date night. These programs are offered during the month. There are programs for French speaking children, and also for students that are new to French, so your child will be placed in a group of peers that will be at their same level of French learning. We highly recommend this program, and look forward to our son progressing through the program through middle school, where he can then take the DELF French examinations that will qualify him as proficient for future enrollment in a French University, if he ever chose to study abroad. The best part is that his French accent, and familiarity with French have been developed at a young age, so his language is very natural. His French step -grandmother is very impressed with his French, and loves having a young grandchild to converse with in her native tongue! She is a retired French language and literature professor, and has been very pleased with his education in the EFBA program.

We hire credentialed French teachers to teach children, age 5 -18, both native-speakersand from Francophile families, and prepare them to earning diplomas granted by the French Government and accepted in French-speaking universities. Through a global yet flexible curriculum, K -12 children - depending on the school, will get a fantastic exposure to French. It gives an educational, affordable, yet fun environment for your children to learn French.

Thank you to the Tutor Doctor for helping me, a self-described math cripple to understand algebra!…read moreI sought out professional help in my math class because the help I was getting from so-called math whiz friends just wasn't helping me learn. Working with the teacher from the Tutor Doctor made all the difference. In just a few weeks of two session per week, I have gone from feeling hopeless and utterly confused to a level of understanding in my course work I feared I would never reach. I will be taking upper Algebra and Chemistry next semester and will be counting on the Tutor Doctor to help me achieve the same results in those classes. Sincerely, Sandra

Now that we know that the tutor they found for him was perfect. My son loves his tutor and works very well with him. My son does'nt just like everyone so that says a lot. He has improved in reading and understanding what he is readin., He has also slowed down to focus more as well as not ashamed to wear his eye patch in front of his tutor. I cannot thank you guys enough. I look forward in him improving more so he feels better at school and with completing his homework.

Sylvan Tutoring Center is the worst tutoring center among the four I have enrolled my two kids in…read morefor past 6 years. Sylvan has the worst make-up policy and is overpriced. I thought I paid for one-hour lesson, but the teachers end the lesson 15 minutes earlier than the lesson schedule. The 15 minutes time period is the waiting time for students to get picked up. Sylvan also forfeit your lesson if you missed a lesson. that means they will charge you for the lesson your kid didn't attend. we as parents, already are stressed so much for our daily expenses, but when our kids need help on their homework and school assignments, we send our kids to tutoring. One of my younger kid's parent persuaded me to enroll my kid in Sylvan because she could get some referral lessons once I enrolled. We got the 500 hours package because the price is a bit less than regular price. There are regularly 2-4 kids per 45 minutes lesson. My kid don't get much actual help in one lesson because she needs to share lesson time with other kids. We still have some purchased lessons. I won't renew after all purchased lessons are used for sure and definitely won't refer any of my friends to Sylvan. Sylvan entices students for a prize or gift to ask their parents to write good reviews on the internet.

I am writing this review as a parent of two Lowell kids, so if you are a parent wondering whether…read moreyou should put Lowell as your first high school choice, read on... As far as academics is concerned, it is an EXCELLENT school. You learn, all right. There is plenty of homework. Teachers don't just drill the information; they make sure that the students learn. The down side of this is that it is not easy getting As, so when college application time comes around, the Bs and Cs won't cut it for elite schools. Of course, on the other hand, if your student got the As, then the doors are wide open for Ivy League and every top university available. Many Lowell alumni have gone that way. Reflecting on this, regardless of where your child goes to college, this quality of education can't be bought. After going through Lowell, your student will be ready for any college, period - Ivy League or CCSF. As far as extracurriculars, there is plenty, from sports, to arts, to robotics...EVERYTHING. My son is doing archery this semester. Cool, huh? As far as parent involvement, this is top notch. The reason Lowell continues to do well despite massive budget cuts is the PTSA. God bless them! There are resources of all kinds, from college help, to mental and physical health (A nurse is available much of the time, people...where else can you have one in SFUSD?) Some people complain that the school is overrated and the environment is competitive. To them, I say that if your kid is an underachiever, then don't force the issue. To succeed in Lowell, your student must want to be a winner. The teachers are super nice and super helpful. I can go as far as confirming it because I was a former student of one of the teachers there. They are the best. Final word: It is the best free education available in San Francisco if you really want it.

I have no idea what the problem was when I was just calling about my daughter since I was worried she was not responding to any of my messages, which she normally does. so many kids going missing these days it's hard not to worry, especially if your kid is not informing you when they get to school which they normally do. This is not the first time this woman has had this behavior with me. I've let it go a few times, but it definitely should be corrected. it's not necessary.

We wanted to continue and asked about other options. They offered a semi-private option, but they then tried to up-charge us more money to continue and nickeling and diming us the entire interaction. We had wanted to stay, but they clearly did not value our business when they made little attempt at retaining us or offering other alternatives. Seems like they just wanted to give us the refund to get us out of their hair and Instead they took that as an opportunity to try to get more money out of us.
