The store always seems busy. I do visit it at times, and they have decent/ great discounts on some items

Unfortunately the food department is not…read morethat interesting, still, you will find products that are impossible to find in other supermarkets, like cannellini beans, grano cotto, cime di rapa (wild broccoli), bottarga (cured fish eggs) and other Sardinian specialities like gnocchetti or pane carasau. The coffee selection is a bit sad and not very impressive. The same for the fresh pasta. A pity they don't have Giovanni Rana products, they are simply the best, especially concerning fresh lasagne sheets.

It was nice to know that there was a dedicated Italian supermarket here in the capital. However,…read morewhen I went there, I was dissatisfied by how little the choices are. Mostly the store was filled with alcohol beverages, secondly biscuits & cookies, third was pesto. The fresh produce, cheese and sausage was only at the two counters on the back. No sommelier on the wine counter either. The fresh produce like greens, some of it were no longer fresh. They did serve some kind of buffet or restaurant (much like the one in Ikea). Honestly, I was unimpressed because it was nothing compare to the Italian wholesale supermarket in Hamburg. I gave it three stars because I did like their choices of gelato (ice cream). Sizes ranging from a cup to a whopping 5 litres box. Overall, they need to have more specialty stuff, especially sausages and cheese.

In addition to a few shops, there are quite a few eateries and bars to check out. I've never liked dancing in a club but if that's your thing, you have options here and a several places available for a late night/early morning snack when you inevitably leave the bar inebriated. If you happen to be there during hours where there is daylight, the weekends promise an even bigger variety of food with their Mad & Marked. From tacos to salads, cocktails to beer, there is something for everyone and a lot of seating. If you have friends from out-of-town, this is a good place to go to make everyone happy. It's kind of like that book you love with a mangled corners, dog-eared pages, and more than a few coffeestains. It may not look pretty but every time you revisit it, you have a great time. Eat: Tommi's Burger Joint, Fleisch, Magasasa Dimsum & Cocktails Drink: Warpigs, Harvey Shop: Kakshidi Food Import, HW Larsen For all three: Kødbyen Mad & Marked (on weekends)

The place still retains the dreary-looking buildings of the old days, but don't let it fool you. Some of the good cocktail bars and restaurants are here, and of course there's the famous beer joint Warpigs - although I'm not a big fan of it. Not only restaurants and bars, but this place hosts "Mad og Marked", a summer thing where they hold street food event every Saturday-Sunday. So it's definitely a place worth visiting, or stumble upon when you're partying late in town and find yourself in the vicinity of the red-light district, head here instead!
