I was seduced by the smell of barbeque wafting my way while walking across Youngstorget, and…read moredecided to see how the burgers at Internasjonalen compared with the rest of the gourmet burgers in Oslo.
I chose the Balvanera burger, which had chorizo, caramelized onions, grilled green chili pepper and kimchi mayo in addition to the burger and lettuce and bun. The patty itself was perfectly cooked (verging slightly on the pink side in the middle), and tasted pleasantly meaty and smoky. The chorizo and kimchi mayo worked very well together, and made for an exciting taste combo. The bun was lovely and exceedingly fluffy - better than I would expect, to be honest!
My only criticisms would be that the burger suffered from what I like to call "height syndrome" - i.e. that it's so tall that it is impossible to eat with your hands. Also, I would have liked the option of adding ketchup.
At 179kr, it is also a quite pricey burger, but this is Osli, after all.
