Terrible service!!! Avoid this location! Went in for my appt and they had no record that I was booked even though I was, went back couple weeks later and they said tires were worn out and not driveable, so wouldnt change them, So basically they stored these tires knowing they were no good and charged me! Been a customer here for 20 plus years, new ownership now, AVOID!!!! They do not care! Wish I didnt even have to give them one star!!! read more

Have been to this location a couple of times lately, and will not go again. First time I stood in the lobby for a good 10 minutes before even being acknowledged while an employee pecked away at his computer. When finally asking what I needed, his GAF was so low and rude and unwilling to look for a solution I just left. Last time I stopped in looking for a quick tire rotation. That's it. Even though 4/5 bays were sitting empty he said I would have to make an appointment and come back another time. Drove over to OK Tire and they did it in 15 minutes. Last straw for Kal, will not try again. read more

Scheduled an appointment to have my seasonal tire swap. Arrived 10 mins early and the staff took my vehicle and started the service. It took 21/2 hours to change and balance 4 tires. They managed to cross thread 3 luggage bolts on the driver front wheel. They then had to order new bolts from NAPA and tap out the hub. Majority of the staff seemed very inexperienced and disorganized. I would not recommend this location for this service unless their capabilites greatly improve. read more

This awful experience was at COCHRANE, ALBERTA "I purchased new tires may/18, they took my winter tires off and put in bags. when i went to load my winter tires up to change over 2 weeks ago (oct 26/18) the rims were missing... i talked to manager he said he would look into, he never called me back after repeated calls he said they were not there and there was nothing he could or would do. $1400.+ lesson look in the bags before you leave." read more

Purchased 2 trailer tires and left my rims with the understanding they would be mounted and balanced. When picking up I noticed there were no weights on either tire. I questioned the employee who stated trailer tires do not need to be balanced. I answered that I already had this discussion with the manager with whom I left the tires, and it was understood they were to be balanced. The invoice stated as much. Most tire shops will balance trailer tires, a few, like this one say it is a scam and do not balance them. Quite a widespread scam! In any case I asked the employee if they had been checked on the machine for balance and he said yes. Turns out this was not a truthful statement. I phoned the manager the next day and he agreed it was unlikely both tires had been balanced without any weights. He said to bring the tires down although by this time they had been installed on the trailer, so I had to tow the unit to the shop. The tires were balanced and weights were attached to both tires. Why I had to make two trips when only one was necessary and to deal with miscommunication and lack of honesty at Kal Tire in Cochrane is beyond me. read more

I agree with Julia L. - I think I encountered the same employee. When asking about different tire options to replace what is a now discontinued model of tire I was treated to a very condescending attitude and received absolutely no assistance of any value. The net result is that I will most certainly not be buying the replacement set of tires in question from this particular shop. We have been a customer of this shop for many years but I can see that coming to an end. Kal Tire has other locations. read more

Totally agree go somewhere else. I have given them business since they opened in Cochrane, however, last 3 visits this year the young guy at the desk is rude. If you don't know the tire size or tire terminology he gets an attitude. Today my car computer showed the air pressure was uneven, I asked if they had time to put air in to even out the tire pressure in the tires I bought there. Well then he wanted to know if it was the KPAs or some other lingo which I didn't know and quizzed me to the point I was frustrated and walked out over a simple request.He needs a customer service course or get fired.He likes to play with people. I recently dropped off my husband's car off to trade out the winter tires for summer tires. Kal Tire claims to have told him to only drop off 1 key and not his keychain as we usually do. My husband adamantly says he was not told. I knew nothing, as I was only dropping off the vehicle. There was no sign near the key drop so I just dropped them all in the slot. There was someone in the store but he did not acknowledge my presence. The door was locked due to Covid mess. I proceeded to walk home but 30 minutes into the walk I get a call from my husband that I have to return to the store and only turn in 1 key. Couldn't he have checked sooner? I had the car there on time as requested. Picking it up was even more painful. I'm 65 years old. Don't yell at me if I'm doing something I don't understand! And how about some courtesy and kindness. I did speak with the manager, but he was equally sure he was right and I was wrong. No apology, no kind words. No going back to this business for me!!! read more

Go somewhere else. The owner - is rude and ignorant. My wife wont go near the place. Only puts on new tires if you bought them there. My wife left a set there due to space and when she went to pick up - couldnt find - they sold them!! Far better customer orientated shops in the area! read more

Took my car into Kal Tire in Cochrane ab. on sept 29th to have winter tires put on and then went to a store 2 blocks away. While walking back, I saw my car going down the road. (about 3.30 pm) I was told that it was just being parked. It was also full of mud when I picked it up. Very unprofessional. read more

Yesterday I called about a replacement tube for a tire and was told by a female employee that they had two in stock and quoted a price. I then drove 25 miles into Cochrane and when I told the MAN at the desk about my request he responded that they didn't have that size in stock. Having told him that I had just phoned in and was told that they did he accused me of having called a different store, I asked if this was the Cochrane Kal Tire and he responded affirmatively. When I then asked him if I had driven the 25 miles for nothing his response was "I guess so". He didn't offer to order a tube nor apologize for the inconvenience, and when I suggested that there was a reason for the negative reviews on the Kal Tire site he told me to get out of the store, which I did by going down the street to his competitor where I purchased the tube for $3 less than the Kal Tire quote. That employee should not be allowed to be on the front desk (he may be the owner I am told). read more

I have been a customer here for a few years but will not continue. I booked two appointments to have my snow tires installed on two vehicles. I booked the appointments one week in advance. On the morning of the first appointment I called the office to make sure they were running on time and was assured they were. I dropped off my vehicle and was told to pick it up in one and a half hours. When I returned at the agreed to time my vehicle had not even been looked at. They said it would be next but I could not wait another 1 1/2 hours. What was the point of making an appointment? Good bye Kal Tire Cochrane. read more

Four years ago, i choose to purchase nokian tires. Kal tire was the only dealer at the time. When I dropped the car off a couple days after making the appointment, buddy behind the counter smelled very strongly of booze and was behaving in a rather belligerent manner and was not polite at all. I vowed to myself not to go back to this business as the man obviously had no standard as to how to present himself and behave to the customer, while he was still drunk at 9 am in the morning! As i like the tire brand but not the shop, i travelled more than 70 km's to have the vehicle serviced at another kal tire. Two weeks ago my daughter needed new tires and was directed to a deal at the local Kal Tire. We dropped the wheels off to have the new tires mounted. When I returned to pick them up, the Kal Tire Rep behind the counter asked me of my opinion of what i think of the recent alleged pandemic. I stated an opinion that is sound and backed in research, science and 25 years personal experience as a natural health practitioner. Then the tire salesman got loud and stated he was a microbiologist and had the answer to the pandemic (contrary to my opinion) then began to mock me to my face. (I did not remind him at that point of the fact that he was selling tires, not a microbiologists, but did not ask him where his lab was, so i may be remiss as he could actually be doing research after his day job.) The last 25 years I have been involved in manufacturing and selling microbes for human consumption, I am not university trained, I have real world experience, I know my business. So the sales agent / kal tire representative , ran into the back shop, not knowing I was already there and started spouting off to the other employees and mocking me of my opinion!! ( I sensed he must be a very insecure man of +6 foot size to my 5'6" 140 lb stature to have to tell his tire mechanics how smart he is and just called out a customer who had a differing opinion to his). I immediately called him out, and with my toes just over the bay door line, he began yelling and pointing at me and got very aggressive, stating I was not allowed in the shop, causing me to have concern for my safety. My toes were barely over the line, but he came charging and yelling pointing his finger!! It is really disappointing to have to encounter such individuals who are so intolerant to others opinions that they must bully and demean. KAL TIRE Cochrane, twice your employees had to act in ways that show no respect to another. Not to mention the overall rude attitude. YOU FAIL. negative 5 stars.
