Warning: Auto Doctor is extremely expensive considering the work that they do!…read more I have taken my car to Auto Doctor in Saskatoon twice now. The first time I did I was charged apx. $250.00 to get my oil changed, get an oil leak fixed and have them check over the whole car as I had just purchased it. They changed the oil and said they have fixed the oil leak. They also told me everything in the car was working perfectly. Too bad the PCV valve in my car was leaking oil, the air filter was ruined, the case for the air filter was broken and my car was STILL LEAKING OIL. The second time I took my car there was to get my block heater replaced as well as the driver side wiper. This ended up costing me $426.00! The block heater itself was $42.05 and the Wiper blade was $14.64. It took them two hours to complete this. There was $240.00 worth of labour charges. They also "accidentally" changed the oil in my car and charged me $30.00 for this and they replaced the passenger side wiper blade as well. Neither of these things were requested. As my father picked my car up and PAID (another issue entirely) I didn't get to have my say with Auto Doctor. But I will say that every other place I called and got a quote from told me the cost LABOUR AND PARTS was anywhere from $130.00 to $180.00 Auto Doctor: Your service sucks, you're too expensive, and no one in my family will ever go to you again. I am just sorry that circumstances were such that I ended up getting robbed of all that money.

When the shocks and struts began causing problems again, I chose not to return to Lawson Auto because of my previous experience. Instead, I took my vehicle to a shop I trust, where they diagnosed and repaired the issue. I then contacted Lawson Auto regarding the warranty on the Monroe parts. They have been very reluctant to honor the warranty for the defective parts, despite the issue being related to the parts themselves. In the end they only paid me $500 of the $700 for the warranty parts. In addition, I felt I was spoken down to and treated dismissively as a female customer from the owner. The overall interaction was unprofessional and disappointing.

Harvey (the owner) said they would get to it today and give me a call. Turned out to be a clogged heater core typically $600-$1,000 to replace. Harvey said he was willing to do a chemical clean and flush for $225.00 that had a 90% success rate but no guarantee. The flush did the job and the Equinox is pumping out more heat than ever before. Total bill $224.00. That is not the best part, the shop is normally open 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Harvey worked on my vehicle until 7:30 p.m. so that he would have it back to me same day as promised. Incredible service, great attitude, and lowest cost for that repair you could possibly find. A new customer for life!!

He said they had forgotten to let the coolant settle.... so he sent a guy to fill it up.. very disappointing. Later that day the head gaskets blew! So after they blew he fixed the head gaskets again like any mechanic should, but now my engine's oil light flashes after the car is at running temp. I never had this issue before the head gaskets blew and he knows that, took it back in and told him about it and he never fixed it, told me it was good to drive...
