If it were possible to leave zero stars, I would. I really don't write reviews, but everyone needs to know what happened to me if they are planning to get a tattoo I have been hesitant to give this review because I wanted them to have a chance to make it right but now that the rework is done and it still looks like shit, I can't hold back any longer... I had this tattoo done originally in December of 2021 by Jeff. I was concerned the day I got the tattoo because the artist seemed to be rushing the color fill, and I wondered how it would look once it healed. He spent an hour and a half on the outline and 20 minutes in the color. Within a few days I noticed blotching in the color as it healed. A few spots where the artist dug in with the needle began to scab over. As the scabs pulled away from the skin, they took the ink with them. I ended up having to go back in and have him redo the color completely. I didn't have to pay money for this, but I am now paying the price in pain from having to go over inches of scar tissue with more needle work. I'm very upset. Even with the redo it doesn't look as amazing as any of my other tattoos. The shading is uneven and the line work is off. And to top it off, the artist didn't clean out the needle well enough when changing colors so the white stripe is not really white. It looks more like a light pinkish, orange color. I felt very uneasy with the artist when he started the first session but I couldn't get my deposit back. I observed some of his other work which was spectacular and feel like he had a problem with me either because it was my own art work and not his design or because I am gay or both. I should have know from his arrogance upon our first meeting that the overall experience would not be great. During my consultation, he completely shot down one of the ideas and suggested something completely different from what I wanted. Then when I decided to go with my own drawing in the end, he still wanted to change things. So many things about this place upset me. Don't go to Jeff unless you're ready to have what he wants on your body! read more

Let me start off saying I created a Yelp account just to post this review and don't enjoy making a bad reviews for small shops. But when working with body piercings, professional experience and knowledge needs to be of upmost importance. I decided to go to Kalamalka because right now many shops are booked up for the year and their Google Reviews looked to be very positive, but now realize most reviews are for tattoo artists. I got a rook piercing, which I know can be very difficult and tight to pierce. The piercer knew this, but assured my anatomy was able to handle it. After my rook was pierced, screwing the top and bottom ball on the barbell took a good chunk of time to adhere. I am not sure if the piercer did not have enough experience with rooks or if my anatomy was just not a great fit for that piercing. (Which I would much rather have no piercing and know the shop values health and safety than paying for a piercing that is vulnerable to infection!) The next day a friend noticed the bottom ball of my barbell was missing. It must have fallen off at some point, but I had not touched the piercing at all. (I have my conch pierced and know other than giving the new piercing a cleaning soak, never touch it while it heals.) I wasn't able to do anything about the ball since it was long gone, but then the next day...the top ball fell out. Luckily I was able to find it and clean & screw back on. Super disappointed about this piercing, but I am going to consult a more trusted shop to get their advice. I usually wouldn't post reviews, but in this case mistakes can lead to infections. I would be wary of piercings (and tattoos as well) from this shop and spend the money on a shop that values the safety of their customer. read more

I've got 3 tattoos from here, all 3 from different artists and I have been satisfied every single time. The staff is friendly and remembers my name which I appreciate. Just make sure you tell them exactly what you want, and they will do a great job. My tattoo from Brandon did get a bit infected due to the plasma that sat in the wrap I was told to keep on. (not his fault nor mine) It is healing nicely other than that and he offered to touch it up for me when it's done getting better. Overall a trustworthy place to get ink. read more

So I did the deal of all you can sit tattoo and this was my experience. Jeff was 30 minutes late he didn't know who I was or anything. Even though I had set up a consultation and paid a deposit. He took multiple smoke breaks including a lunch in an all you can sit appointment. My tattoo was ugly and it blow out. So underneath my skin it turned green. I messaged him and he said it would go away . 2 years later still green. Had to pay a professional to try to fix the problem. I went to Kalamalka ink looking to add some roses to my forearm going around some script l got. 4 roses in total, just shaded in, no color. The roses look dead, the lines make no sense. It took 5 hours, while he was doing my tattoo he took multiple smoke breaks, was trying to watch a movie, texting his girlfriend, and trying to win a radio contest? I have 13 piercings and the piercer at this shop has done over half! Every time I come get a new piercing here I am met with the most professional care, every time I have always been consulted on my anatomy to make sure the piercing I want is a good fit and do-able. I have a lot of anxiety with needles and not a great pain tolerance and the piercer always talks me through my breathing and makes sure i'm comfortable before any piercing happens. She is always quick and clean leaving little time to stress about the actual piercing part. I have received several tattoos and piercings at Kalamalka Ink. Madalyn Milner is a young tattoo artist, whose work is awesome. Her style and mine are very similar and she has a gentle light hand. I will be getting many more pieces from her in the future. Paul, their piercer has given me 14 piercings. I will never go to another piercer. Friendly staff. A little unorganized. Prepaid a deposit a month ago. They didnt remember. & Didnt give a reciept back then. Went in for a 1 hr appointment and was there over 3 hrs. Paid for 1 hr ontop of the deposit from last month. And then paid another time within a few mins. Left without getting reciepts. The tattooer and managers didn't communicate the times and price. I left feeling like They were thinking we were ripping them off. Too many allowed to run the cash register without communication. I went here to get my second tattoo on my ribcage. I was going to have a girl do it who was still an intern of sorts but she did a cousins tattoo beautifully. When I got to my appointment I found out she was sick but this guy could do it with the same quote. Well he proceeded to tell me I needed to remove my bra and gave me tape for my nipples. I was out in the open and luckily had my friend there to hold my shirt, he had my lay in a very uncomfortable and awkward position for hours let's just say if my friend was not there the entire shop would of seen my boobs. The equipment he used was extremely loud. I went to ink drop my main place and I told him my experience Zim. He felt so bad he said he'd touch it up even tho they normally don't. He told me there was no reason why I should of removed my bra it was not pulling my skin or anywhere to affect the tattoo. Just don't go here highly don't recommend. read more

If your shop opens at 10 open it at 10. Just because you have a special event doesn't mean you should open at 11. Even more so it's 11:30 and your still not open. Most of us have been here before 9 am. Some of us have to work. You're guys are horribly unorganized, and clearly can't handle running an even like this. read more
